The rice I ordered was under cooked and hard the food had no flavor it hasn't been the first time I have gotten food served liked that and they charge you a arm and leg for mediocre food awful will not be going back ever!!!!?

First off I’m Dominican and I’m happy to see that we have a restaurant like this in my area, but I can’t say the same how cheap this particular restaurant can be. When you go and ask for a full baked chicken, they will only give you one cap filled of their chimney sauce. You know well enough that one little cap is not gonna do anything to a full chicken so when you ask for additional one, they charge you $.50 per each cap ( they might have already raised the price on it by now). Second, When they are serving chicken soup and you asked for a large, do you notice that all the vegetables are not cut properly? I literally got a full carrot in my soup that took almost half of the plastic container it came in. That’s not including that only had two pieces of chicken in it for a large order. Finally, and this is for anyone who isn’t Dominican, If you go there and ask for our traditional plate Mangu With the three powers (Meaning, eggs, cheese, and salami), anywhere else they put one egg, one piece of cheese, and two pieces of salami. This place will only put one piece of salami and charge you $1.25 for each additional piece. It may not seem much, but when you asked for multiple orders, it adds up. I would rather go to El Conuco on Palisade Avenue down the block. At least I know what I’m getting. I know everyone’s trying to make money but man stop penny pinching.

Extremely kind family-run business that I've known from the Dyckman location. They took care of a large catering order that I had on short notice and the food was amazing as always. The other locations for John's in Jersey are good - but this location in Cliffside Park is the best.
