“Good service, nice interior, dimly lit. It’s a good date spot. The drinks were really good - the HK Milk Punch and 2046 were tasty! The food was good but not great - we got the mango chicken, mushroom salad, and dan dan noodles, out of those the mango chicken was my favorite. They said we only had the table for 1.5 hour, but it seemed like the party after didn’t come so we stayed an extra 30 minutes.“

“The food at Fan Szechuan reminds us so much of home-cooked food—warm and flavorful! We really enjoyed trying the Peking duck, sesame noodles, and spicy wontons. There were so many different appetizer options, including spicy and nonspicy choices. The atmosphere was also inviting and cozy, with tasteful decor and a welcoming vibe. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great dining experience. Whether you are craving something rich and hearty or light and savory, there is something for everyone. Fan Szechuan is the perfect spot for comforting and satisfying meals!!

“The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. The women sitting at the front is very friendly and welcoming as well. As soon as we sat down they handed us our menus and gave us time to decide what we wanted to eat and drink. I give them 5 stars !!“

“This was my second time here and we had a bunch of things! The standouts for this place was the crab roe Tofu, the summer max (cocktail), the pea shoots, fatty beef in sour soup, the feihong spicy shrimp, and the fish blossom(sweet and sour). This place is definitely a must visit and will definitely come again.“

“Pleasantly surprised to find this authentic spot full of amazing flavors in the middle of our Williamsburg day trip! Walked in for lunch, we got lucky to get in before a big party, but either way their service is great- I asked for recommendation and I was not disappointment. I only wish I had more mouths to feed at my table so I could have ordered everything to try. I thoroughly enjoyed the “husband and wife special” chilled beef and tripe in chili oil and peanut bits, and the sautéed green beans. I believe if you get the lunch special for the dishes you’d get a side white rice, which is much needed to mix with all the delicious sauces! I also ordered the dan dan noodles which were also very delicious. They have quite many options in their menu and all seems really great to eventually try. If you enjoy sichuan flavors this is your spot!“

“Food was absolutely delicious, we were there during lunch time so we had a hot&sour soup, chicken with broccoli and rice and some gyozas, taste was great, I recommend this place to every one.
The only downside is that restroom smell could be felt from the tables, I consider that unacceptable so this might be something to consider because it removes all the elegance felt in the place“

“We love this spot! Ain’t go wrong with Chinese food! We went on a weekday so it was not that crowded but we had early dinner, and the restaurant wasn’t that crowded but as soon 6pm hits, the place got packed. We had reservation. But no need if you are planning to visit not on a rush hour. I love how generous the servings were! Cumin Fries was a must try, not the usual fries you would usually have. We ordered fried dumplings too. General Tso’s chicken was good too! And eggplant stir fried would always be the best. When the place started to get packed, the servers were not enough to cover all tables. Good ambiance too.“

“Came for dinner with a group of Chinese friends. Food is good but not what I would called Sichuan. I can recommend the Sautéed pea shoots, Peking duck w soup, Cucumber salad and the Mapo tofu. I CANNOT recommend the grilled fish, it was terrible.
The decor is honestly bizarre, as my friend put it, a mahjong factory. Service was ok, but dishes were slow to be served.“

“It’s always on my top of the list in Chinese cuisine in Jersey City area. It’s even better than my Chinese food in NYC. Except it’s a bit far to walk. It’s really delicious, but of course you have to know how to order. For example, don’t order Cantonese food at a Sichuan restaurant. It is a kitchen restaurant in Jersey City. The price is also very good, and it is not a pre-made dish. If you can tolerate spicy food, remember to order the beef with tofu curd.
Seriously, can the boss open a meal card service?“

“This place was so amazing! Even while it was busy our waiter Yvonne got all of family’s order correct and out very quickly. Everything we got was so delicious. Some of the highlights were the vegetable lo mein, garlic sauce style chicken, and chicken fried rice. The slow jazz added to the great atmosphere. 10/10 recommend coming here and I’ll definitely be back!“

“Really can’t recommend Spicy Moon enough. Every time we visit NYC we make sure to stop by because I can’t get enough of the Dan Dan Noodles and haven’t had anything that can beat it elsewhere. Always a great selection of craft beer, too!“

“One of my favorite Szechuan spots in NYC. They are probably the best in LIC as mentioned in their name.
Only miss I’ve had here is the mapo tofu. Too much oil and had no meat.
But I would recommend the green beans, cumin lamb, dry pot. All delicious.“

“THE SOUP DUMPLINGS ARE A MUST-HAVE!!! I forgot to take photos because I absolutely devoured them before I got the chance, but they are so flavorful!! Truly the best I’ve ever had. Their shiumai and sliced beef & ox tongue with chili sauce was also very yummy!!! Will definitely come back here, it’s become a new favorite! ??“

“FOOD: Really delicious. Excellent noodles. Highly recommend the wood ear mushrooms as an app. The soup dumplings are also wonderful. Dandan noodles are great, just very heavy -- same with the beef hot pot. We were full after 8-10 bites but excited to eat it at home tomorrow. Also... Having a bite of the beef hot pot was surprisingly good with a little bit of the vinegar from the soup dumplings!
SERVICE: Nice peeps. They were pretty busy on a Saturday night but were able to seat us 10 min ahead of our 8pm rez. It took a while for the server to take our order though. It also took us a while to get our check - ended up getting another server to bring it to us. He also packed up our to-go food very nicely.
ATMOSPHERE: It's cute in here, but REALLY loud. Might enjoy it more for a lunch spot and not dinner date. It's just the nature of the back room - very echoey. Next time I will also ask to not be seated in the corner by the wine fridges. We had to move our table back a foot or two to not get bonked by the door, and I think our server kind of forgot about us being hidden away.
Overall, definitely recommend. And will be back to try more dishes :)“

“My favorite authentic Sichuan hot pot in Manhattan. They get 5/5 for food because their soup base options are plentiful and you can choose your pot style! That is a mega plus for me because I can’t eat beef. Love the spicy but can’t have any beef cross contamination. When going with friends, I need my own no-beef zone!
I went recently and their ordering changed for the better. Everything is on the iPad and it’s very easy to go through and order what you want. You can easily go back in and add more items!
Dietary restrictions: Vegan soup base, spicy vegan soup base, non-spicy soup bases that are flavored in many different ways (tomato, mushroom, pork bone, etc)“

“Not just the place you go to when lil’ tif is too busy. Chiko is delicious. Mapo tofu, dan dan noodles and string beans were all great and the two mains were generous portions for the price. Also I really appreciate it when a restaurant doesn’t skimp on the white rice ($2/bowl).“

“So delicious! Probably the Chinese food I have ever had. It all tasted so fresh and the plates kept it hot the whole meal. I wouldn't shut up the whole meal about how yummy it was lol.
We've tried the crab rangoons, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, noodles w. scallion oil, and fried rice with mustard green shoots. All delicious.“

“I frequent this restaurant regularly and have been a loyal customer for 3 years. While I‘ve tried nearly every item on the menu, I haven’t had the opportunity to write a review until now. The flavors of the food are consistent and delicious. I’d highly recommend it to anyone seeking authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine. The dishes are all tasty, the service is friendly, and the food is quickly delivered. Upon finishing the meal, they offer complimentary oranges to cleanse the palate. The place is so clean, and the bathrooms are well-maintained. I hope they continue to uphold this level of excellence in the future. Luv it❤️“

“We found this location searching for places to have lunch, taste was great! The waiter was a little stressed and didn't have much patience when taking our order. It was a very new york style, but other than that place was great, taste awesome, and very quiet“

“This is my " go to" Chinese restaurant when in Jersey on a workday. Closest to authentic Chinese food one can taste only in Asia. Only downside? No private parking for customers, but considering the location (on Grove St 1 block from Christopher Columbus Ave), you could be admitted to the psych floor for delusional thinking! Seriously, if your idea of chinese food is NOT fried chicken wings with chow mein (especially if you're a fan of frog legs dishes), have at it! You've been warned!“

“Ok.. gotta say you need to know what this place is about before coming in. Like how to order. Kinda confusing. Really healthy food though. Bae and I always passed by on the way to the park. Finally decided to stop in. Okay...
Gonna just hand me the bill and not even take the dirty plates.. I see how it is...rush us out.. you played yourself. Lowered rating for service“

“Do not sleep on this gem!!!! I wanted to try a local spot while on vacation in NY, and I am so glad I stumbled across this location. The service and staff are amazing, the food is delicious. I loved the small details like the design on the napkin, and I didn't have to wait to be seated. I wish I could have brought the jasmine tea back to my hotel. I will be coming back to this location on my next visit to NY!“

“The food is so good.
The food is very good, we were delighted and I would return without thinking twice. It has no comparison with Chinese street food. I would spend the same and without quality, this restaurant is very good. I recommend it 100%.“
