My husband and I have been stopping a Maurice River Diner for a few years now whenever we are in the area. We usually look forward to it, love the food and atmosphere. Today, we stopped for breakfast and noted a significant decline in the upkeep of the building, especially the restrooms. They were both filthy, built up dirt in all the corners, sinks also had built up dirt and mold, walls filthy. They appeared they had not been cleaned in weeks. The restaurant itself upon first appearance is inviting, but after seeing the bathrooms, I couldn't help but notice alot of dust. It made me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. The hostess was not friendly at all, the waitress was. I hope the owners will read this as we enjoy the food and would like to continue to stop. But if we don't see an improvement with the cleanliness, we won't be able to trust the food. BTW, another hour on our trip we stopped at a WAWA. The restrooms were much cleaner at the WAWA. Maybe the Maurice River management should take a lesson.

Very good food at reasonable prices. When we would pass the diner on the way to the shore, I always noticed the parking lot was filled with cars, even in the off season. We decide to stop on the way home yesterday. We each ordered a full course meal including desert. The bill was, with beverages and tax, under $50. My wife could only eat half and brought home a doggie bag. I was able to finish mine and I was stuffed. We plan on stopping whenever we have time on the way to the shore.

I dont usually write reviews unless I felt the experience was out of this world great or worst I have ever had. But I felt that I just couldnt forgo a review for this experience. My husband and our 5 yr old daughter live in Pennsylvania and it was a Friday night and decided to take a drive to New Jersey to grab some dinner. We originally were looking to find a pizzeria. Anyways long story short we ended up seeing Maurice River Diner and from the road it looked wow inviting and well we were getting hungry. So we said ok lets go there check it out as my husband and I just love visiting new diners. Let me first say staff was very friendly. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. The food seemed fresh and was tasty. We dont have any complaints of the food or service. The diner seemed clean and kept. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes also. Well we finished out meal and since we had a long drive home about hour and half, my husband took our "doggie bag" of leftovers (one small plastic container), paid the bill and went to the car while our daughter and I went to the bathroom. Again still all fine. Bathrooms even clean. Here is where our experience went down hill. My daughter and I head to the car and meet my husband and he is in car with doors open and upset. He says to me we are not taking the leftovers home. I said whats wrong. He said I just set the container down on the console and bam a ROACH crawling off it in the car. OMG my immediate disgust of bugs esp those kind sent me into high anxiety levels. So very disappointed and freaked out now. Didnt sleep well and the car ride needless to say home felt horrible. My skin crawling and feeling yuck. I googled the diner to read about the diner next morning and well this is not the first roach siting at Maurices. Warning and heads up if your looking for a diner, beware!!

Love this diner. Always great to stop at if you are coming home from the ocean or if you are nearby. The food and service are great. The building is very clean and kept up with.

Gosh, I miss these sort of diners. We don't have many of them in Charlotte. A menu the size of a Bible with everything from fried fish to spanakopita and breakfasts from pancakes to benedicts.I was warmly welcomed on a Sunday morning at 7:45 am and shown to a table immediately. The place did start to fill in over the next two hours or so and when it started to look like people were going to be waiting, I took my laptop and headed onwards.Breakfast this morning was a ham and cheese omelet. Perfectly assembled, a large portion and yes, I did eat one or two bits of the excellent potatoes on the side. Man, they looked good and tasted better. Keto be damned (for this morning).[Review 18230 overall - 106 in New Jersey - 1752 of 2022.]

My husband and I shared a gyro and he had a bowl of clam chowder. Service was great. Appreciated their plating our gyro separately without us asking. Food was good and reasonably priced. We will stop again.

Service was great. Food was delicious and large portions. Restaurant was sparkling clean. Food was served quickly. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, Turkey club, Chicken Caesar wrap Kids pasta and grilled cheese were all delicious. Plenty of space to park your car and rv. We plan to stop on the way to and from the beach , it was that good!

The food is 5 stars. We come here often food is great, big portions, decent price, prices have increased due to inflation, but still a good deal. Only complaint is how hot it is in there all the time.

When heading to the shore the Maurice River Diner is your last good stop before getting in the real congestion in Rio Grande. Always clean and good service. Breakfasts, burgers, seafood, steaks and baking done on premises.

I am a big fan of clean diners with good service and fresh tasty food. This one gets all 5 stars from me! Normally when I'm here we have to go to Larry's II but we happened to be in a different area when hunger struck this time. MRD fit the bill and my friend and I enjoyed a very satisfying lunch here on our way to doing errands. There is of course a beautiful parking lot and the facade of the building is almost historical looking. I'm so glad I got to try out a new diner this time and I look forward to returning. There's nothing like good food and good company!
