“The staff at Antioch Restaurant were attentive and explained the items that were brought out.- The offered a great wine selection and is BYOB.-Karişik meze starter : Fried Eggplant With Tomato Sauce, Hummus, Tatziki, Eggplant Salad, Babaganush, and Labne were absolutely delicious-Every dish was flavorful and highlighted Mediterranean spices. My favorites were the Lamb Adana, grilled meatballs and balloon bread paired with the Karişik meze tabaği.-I also thoroughly enjoyed the Sutlac (rice pudding) and kazandibi (milk pudding). “Great experience at this iconic Dave's location. The lines can get pretty long, but the workers kept everything moving efficiently. The sliders are also quite reasonably priced. Everything was delicious. A must visit if you are in the area.“

“The food in Amazing Chicken & Gyro is a great price and tastes great especially for the price. They are fully halal which is amazing and allows for everyone to enjoy along with the full range of a menu catering to everyone. “We have had our private event at this lovely restaurant. we used the main dining room area for a party of 46 of us. The menu was excellent with a great variety of meats and chickens and seafood, along with some vegetarian items. The staff has made us very comfortable and brought each cocktail and meal on time. The space is excellent for private events and small gatherings. Entire office loved everything.“

The manager greeted at the ordering station and didnt overwhelm me to order my food as this was the first time being there. He asked me if id like any suggestions and we landed on the chicken platter with spicy chickpeas rice and cole slaw. Everything about this bowl was immaculate. The chicken was well seasoned and spiced, the chick peas were tender and savory, and the rice was such a great compliment to the protein. I also ordered their fries because why not!The portion size was generous but not overbearing. They had the mexican coke glass bottles which was a great choice to wash the food down with. I got the brown to top it all off and it was amazing. Chipotle, Qdoba, Halal Guys even have nothing on Juicy Platters. I definitely will be coming back with the family!“

The regular mash is good and the spicy mash is unique. The honey definitely makes it taste different than other burgers. I tried chicken, the original chicken. It's name is the original. It was really good. One portion was not enough for me. If they will have one and a half it would be great but they don't have. “Just had an egg, cheese and Turkish sausage on a croissant with small coffee, light and sweet. This hidden gem (because it’s in a parking lot of a gas station, is amazing. This sandwich is the best I’ve ever had, and the coffee (he warmed the cream) was perfection. Going to come back for some lunch and dinner - definitely my new favorite spot.“

“We had our baby's first birthday party / Korean dohljanchi at Mado and it could not have been more perfect. Aret and everyone at the restaurant were so wonderful to work with. They were happy to work with my requests and made party planning so easy. The space was the perfect size with ample parking for our guests. I mean, it was just so good and the price was even better.I am happy to know that a Dave’s Hot Chicken is around the corner from my house now.Came with my husband and the food was pretty much the same. I will do say that the sliders need more Cole Slaw in them!!!Mac and cheese is really good so I very much recomend it. The fries are a must have and must try. The sliders come with Dave’s sauce, a big piece of crispy chicken, pickles and Cole slaw. Btw they’re Cole slaw is reallllly good. We indulged in some delicious sweets like palacinke, tres leche cake, and tulumba - all while watching Zvezda Granda on the TV. Truly felt like I was back home in the Balkans, with the soft chatters of Yugo in the room and the warm, vibrant energy of the restaurant owners. “The place I'd well lit, comfortable, and elegant without being ostentatious. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is fabulous! The phyllo scrolls stuffed with feta were divine and we could eat them forever. I had the lamb Adana and it was delicious! So flavorful. My friends has the falafel and the manti Turkish ravioli. Both were good but the manti was a new experience for us all. The mint flavor is strong in the yogurt sauce which we all loved. The texture and flavor of the ravioli in combination with the sauce makes you want to savor it and gobble it up all at once. Unfortunately, two of us were on medications that affect our appetites so we may have looked like we weren't enjoying ourselves as much as we actually were and this appeared to cause concern. They really want you to enjoy what you're eating and it's wonderful they take pride in what they do. What we didn't eat there, we gladly took with us! I'd you're looking for a reasonably priced delicious place to eat in that area, come here! It's wonderful!“

I got the chicken kebab falafel platter. The chicken is flavorful, rice is fluffy, white sauce is tasty and not overpowering, and the falafel was outstanding - super light and crispy. I'm so glad I tried and will come back when I'm in Astoria again.“

“This is the nicest quick serve I’ve ever eaten at. We tried the roast chicken and got it at the mild level of spiciness. They have 7 or 8 levels. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. “This is quite a unique halal food cart. They use different types of spices and ingredients to add their own twist to the halal food cart scene. I ordered the chicken platter with white sauce and hot sauce. The meat was very flavorful and delicious! The spicy rice is also very good, especially when added with the sauces. They pack a lot of food into the container. More than enough for what seems like an entire day worth of food or almost enough to split between two people. The service was great, the staff very friendly and responsive. The price was great for how much food you get.“

“The last time I passed by the bright green food truck parked on the corner of 31st and Ditmars, I had just eaten a massive meal at Hamido's but I made a mental note to return because the food smelled so good even from across the street. I recently was able to return, with an empty stomach, to try the King of Falafel & Shawarma. The vendor greeted me with a falafel to try, and I immediately noticed it was oval shaped. It did taste significantly crunchier, which I am attributing the larger surface area to, and the spices were fantastic. I had my heart set on trying their kefta but unfortunately by the time I arrived late Saturday evening, they were out of everything except their chicken and falafel, so I had a platter of that instead ($12). My plate was absolutely packed and smothered with their white sauce (highly recommend the red sauce as well as it packs a subtle punch), and the salad was a very welcome addition to the rice and mound of marinated and shaved chicken shawarma. There is so much flavor packed in every single bite, and the way the chicken was marinated definitely sets it apart from other shawarma carts I've tried thus far. Everyone I spoke to, including the other patrons waiting for their order, had only amazing praises to sing for KoF and I can easily understand why. I'm very happy to discover that they also have a truck on 53rd and Park, as Astoria is a bit of a trek for me.PS- An update: I have now finally managed to sample their chicken and beef shawarma, as well as their kefta too. My favorite still remains the chicken shawarma, which edges out the beef because it remains juicer and better marinated. I found the kefta a little too dry for my preference and it lacked that smoky grilled flavor. If you are going to order one thing, get their chicken or chicken and falafel platter with white sauce, red sauce, and extra tahini. And maybe a side order of falafels (4 for $3 to munch on the way home).“

It was quite full and there was only one server/host, I think the owner of the place, but she was able to cater to us among all other customers in a timely manner. The restaurant closed at 10pm but my friend and I lost track of time in conversation. We were not even asked to leave as there was still a party of 6 people and ourselves (party of 2). The host was so accommodating and welcomed us staying until after we were well done (sometime between 11pm -12am). Not once were we asked to leave. Also on dessert, we were able to get their almond pudding even around 11pm, and after the kitchen closed (which was something we wanted to taste while there). Overall it was a memorable experience - food, Turkish wine & the service. It's my second time being there. I would go again.“
