“Wow!! Small little place. Was in ENGLEWOOD and was told to check this place out. Glad we did. Everything was delicious. We started with Humnus with mushrooms which was outstanding. Came with fresh pita .They started us off with complementary bread and hummus with Amba. Amba is a peach sauce. Was outstanding. I went with a chicken Schwarma in a Laffa I highly recommended this restaurant“
“Always fantastic. Best food, best service. Gazala is so kind, always smiling, always there to make sure everything is running smoothly and customers are happy. And the food is Devine. Better than anywhere in the world. See you next weekend for the best brunch in town!“
“A-mazing!! Tiny little hole in the wall Mediterran lunch spot. Only six tables and the chef was on his own that day. No servers or cleanup staff that I could see. He did it all! But Best was the Food!! Tasty and Huge, we had falafel, wraps in handmade thin bread. I ordered the Vegan sandwich, which included roasted eggplant, and cauliflower, hummus, lettuce tomatoes, and french fries! It was warm with a juice or gravy of some sort. It was delicious, if messy.! I look forward to my next visit.“
“Zaffron Bloom in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, is a delightful addition to the culinary scene, offering a fusion of Modern Persian Cuisine with Middle-terranean influence. Helmed by Chef Shahin, whose years of catering experience have culminated in the realization of her dream restaurant, Zaffron Bloom promises a unique dining experience. The restaurant's namesake spice, saffron, is aptly celebrated for its rich history, cultural significance, and exquisite flavor profile.During our lunch visit, we were treated to a delicious meal that surpassed our expectations. The service was impeccable, exceeding the standard. Our decision to dine at Zaffron Bloom was influenced by a friend's glowing recommendation, and we're thrilled to have discovered this gem. Zaffron Bloom truly embodies the essence of "the spice of life" with its innovative approach to traditional Persian cuisine. Deliciousness!! To all Yelpers.... Guys we have to support small local business. It's more important than you can imagine especially during these times. Give them a try, we're sure you'll enjoy it. Be on the lookout... a little insider info, they'll soon be opening a market adjacent to Zaffron. Good luck with all and future ventures. @vinopotato.“
“I know this place just opened, but I extremely highly recommend. A few of my friends came to eat here and so I decided to give it a try. Walking in, I was surprised how there was literally no one there but a ton of workers which I guess was great for me as they were super attentive. I was a bit surprised by the prices were pretty high for something that was supposed to be take-out, but the minute they start making the shawarma, I knew why it was more expensive. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma platter and it was delicious! Perhaps one of the best shawarmas I've had in the city. First of all, they gave us a platter just for all the toppings, did I mention that they are unlimited, that they had. Sometimes the toppings don't have that much flavor, but each one was very complex and flavorful. The chopped salad was light and fresh which balanced out the finely chopped pickles which added a sour taste. The red cabbage slaw which was slightly savory and slightly sour balanced out the onions that had a slight charred on it. I was so delighted by all the different toppings, which is where I think the place definitely shines. The chicken itself was okay, tender but not crazier than normal. Overall, I had an amazing experience and especially with the portion sizes, the platter could easily feed a family of 4 with additional leftovers. I think it will take me at least 6-7 meals before eating it all but I did add some of my own rice to counteract the bounty of flavors. I will say that they don't automatically give you the rice or the fries so big reminder to ask them for that when you come.“
“I had dinner at Lashevet restaurant last week. The food was outstanding! I had octopus for an appetizer and salmon for a main course. It was delicious ! The humus was blended with beats and was absolutely delicious! I have never tried anything like that before! I had Basbousa St Germain cake for desert. It was to die for! And then they gave me tea with ginger, lime, mint and honey. I had an incredible evening and delicious dinner! The ambiance in the restaurant was very relaxing after a hard day at work. I will definitely be back and this time for both dinner and breakfast that I hear has incredible deserts.“
“Great beef chapli kebabs! I went with the platter, definitely recommend. Not a fan of them pouring the sauces on top of the kebabs and rice so I suggest getting those on the side. Also, heads up, their chicken shawarma is ginormous! Great stuff for sure.“
“Alright! Where do i begin?! There were 4 people behind the counter and when i walked in, all four greeted me. The manager greeted at the ordering station and didnt overwhelm me to order my food as this was the first time being there. He asked me if id like any suggestions and we landed on the chicken platter with spicy chickpeas rice and cole slaw. Everything about this bowl was immaculate. The chicken was well seasoned and spiced, the chick peas were tender and savory, and the rice was such a great compliment to the protein. I also ordered their fries because why not!The portion size was generous but not overbearing. They had the mexican coke glass bottles which was a great choice to wash the food down with. I got the brown to top it all off and it was amazing. Chipotle, Qdoba, Halal Guys even have nothing on Juicy Platters. I definitely will be coming back with the family!“
“This is a halal Algerian spot with very authentic food. They have sandwiches and platters and some flavorful side dishes. I had the merguez sandwich and chicken sandwich, and a couple side dishes. The Merguez was amazing, very delicious sausage type dish in a hero roll with fries inside. There's not a lot of seating space so it's a great takeout spot.“
“Outstanding! Super comfort-chic vibe and great ambiance all around. Management, servers, et all were A plus. Passover pre fixe and A la carte were just perfect. Matzah hall soup and gefilte fish app platter were superb! A definite go to again!“
“I just finished dining here for the 2nd time and my experience was amazing.I had The Lamb Shish & Chicken Adana combination platter, the meats were well done and the flavor was on point. Our waiter Salih suggested we try the Turkish Coffee and it did not disappoint, he made our experience 100% better.“
“Persepolis has been in our neighborhood for years but we never got there. It's a spacious but intimate-feeling restaurant with very attentive, friendly service and excellent (and abundant!) food. Also a range of very good variations on the mojito! The eggplant appetizers and, of course, kebabs are excellent. Very nice decor.“
“Came here with 5 friends after a 5 hour hike + we were hungry! Great kabobs, salads. Loved the pumpkin dish wonderful blend of spicesVegetarian options: The pumpkin dish was delicious with a spice combination I've never experienced. Will be back for that“
“Went here on a whim when our original plans fell through and we had an amazing experience. The food was all so good everything from the salad and pita to the bbq fish and taojine. Definitely felt more local. Not packed but a good amount of people. A bit pricy but that's seafood for you. Will definitely be going back.“
“Seasoned with herbs and aromatics. Not overly seasoned, good grade of meat, rice is bit sticky but great flavor. The bread was made in house, crispy on the outside fluffy and chewy on the inside. Overall a great place to get your dose of Turkish food. Ordered through Ubereats“
“Highlight: tuna crudo. This dish has got everything. A little sweet (thanks to the orange segments), a little nutty (pistachio), a little salty, a little sour (lime), and a lot fishy! 5 ⭐The hummus was reasonable. The my grandma's homemade couscous was underwhelming, barely any flavor, barely enough broth. Really not worth $27.Finally, I disliked the tahini dip. I can't remember the last time I had tahini, but I probably will not have it again. In summary:Tuna crudo: 5 ⭐Hummus: 4 ⭐Taboon bread: 4 ⭐My grandma's homemade couscous: 3 ⭐Tahini: 2 ⭐Average would be ~3.5 ⭐, but I was happy enough with the tuna crudo to round up to 4 ⭐.“
“This place is cozy and has an amazing variety of Mediterranean cuisine. Excellent service! The pita is perfectly soft and goes very well with their homemade hummus and baba ganoush. Every dish is authentic and delicious. From their fresh mint lemonade to their dessert, everything was wonderful. I hope they stay around for a long time because we’ll be eating here more often. Thank you!“
“I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try because I was in town on business. The atmosphere was very inviting. My server was pleasant, knowledgeable, and very helpful in many recommendations. I ended up with the lunch special kebab. It came with the most delightful salad featuring best flavors! The main course was a generous portion of chicken, rice, and another salad. I would definitely make it a point to visit here again!“
“Hands down this is the best falafel I have ever had. So fresh, so tasty, and is truly made with love. The interior of this restaurant is very unique and homey. I also had the kufta sandwich that has since become my new favourite. The service is always top notch and the plate presentation is always very impressive.“
“We ate there two Shabbats in the last month.Excellent foodExcellent service .Ephraim the owner is there and takes care of everyone.Reasonable price for a very good Saturday night dinner(New prices are expensive). In short, delicious, nice and worth every dollar.with appetite“
“We had our baby's first birthday party / Korean dohljanchi at Mado and it could not have been more perfect. Aret and everyone at the restaurant were so wonderful to work with. They were happy to work with my requests and made party planning so easy. The space was the perfect size with ample parking for our guests. The food was amazing and everyone raved about the pillowy bread, dips, and entrees. Highly recommend it whether it's for a family meal or event. (Photos by Lisi Halabi Photography)“
“Great Laffa, feels like israel, with the salads and fries.I’m vegan, but the Shawarma and the breaded chicken (schnitzel) looks amazing!Give it a try, try all the salads!Vegetarian options: I eat laffa or pita with hummus, salads, and fries. And fries on the side comes with almost every dish, when you dine in.Dietary restrictions: With so many options and veggies, you’ll surly find something for everyone and anyone.“
“I had a meal first time from Hakki Baba and I think I’ll be a regular. The food is authentic. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. I only had a quick glance at other dishes. I want to try them all. Great experience.Parking: In front of the restaurant.“
“Best Mediterranean food experience, such a delicious food really like the octopus and salmon everything so tasty and fresh. Like the service waiters are so friendly and professional. Highly recommend for who is looking unforgettable food experience.“
“We have ordered from Shawarmania in the past for our office meetings, and we ordered from them for our student event this time (30 people). Their shawarmas are delicious and everyone enjoys the food. The quantity is great, and Omar was kind enough to bring us a complimentary baklava tray with our order. He always arrives on time or before time (which is much appreciated). We will be ordering from them again in the future!“
“My friend invited me to Hummus Place today, we had dinner before the concert at NY Philarmonic. I loved everything! Food was freshly made and delicious! My only suggestion: I wish the serve tea in a bigger cup. Portion of tea is way too small?“
“Excellent Israeli food at a reasonable price! Brunch is $19 for a main and comes with a small sampler appetizer (drink not included). Classic Israeli dishes like shakshuka, Tel Aviv breakfast, and hummus. Brunch starts at 11:30 only so not great for an early brunch. But food comes out fast!“
“Incredible - so glad to have had this location open here. The chicken or lamb adana pita is my go to. The staff is always very friendly and it's quick to get in and out. I frequent the spot once every week or so in my regular lunch location.“
“I lived in Astoria for 5 years and never tried this place. Just had it and I am blown away by how good it is. It's so hard to differentiate between these shawarma/gyro places, but this one is a gem. I got the chicken kebab falafel platter. The chicken is flavorful, rice is fluffy, white sauce is tasty and not overpowering, and the falafel was outstanding - super light and crispy. I'm so glad I tried and will come back when I'm in Astoria again.“
“Beck was the best server—the icing and cherry on top of a scrumptious pan-Mediterranean cake. The ambiance was also unmatched, with just enough lighting to perform a seance. More to the point—this is a cool, special place with tasty everything. We all left super happy!“
“I've been looking for a place like this since moving to NYC. They're easy to find in London but a little harder in NYC dependent on the neighbourhood. I'm a huge fan of Middle Eastern, North African and South Asian food. The owner is very friendly, the food is authentic and flavourful, prices are excellent - I'll definitely be back again soon!Wheelchair accessibility: Door is adjacent to sidewalk.“
“First time to ever try pizza shawarma, definitely a great choice! Will be ordering again also I ordered the chicken parm and Philly cheese steak sandwiches for a quick lunch. Both were delicious and very fresh. The chicken was not soggy like most chicken parm sandwiches I've ordered from other places . The service was very fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I' definitely come back to try other things from the menu. I saw someone having the shawarma platter and it looked delicious.“
“Well, folks, gather 'round because I've got a tale that'll whisk you away to a land far, far from the daily grind. It all began on a day so unremarkable, it could've been any Tuesday from last year. My to-do list was longer than a grocery receipt for a family reunion, and let me tell ya, my spirits were about as high as a snake's belly in a wagon rut. Now, amidst the sea of sameness, something extraordinary happened. I stumbled upon a place called "Omar's," a Mediterranean cuisine oasis that promised an escape to the exotic lands of Egypt, right in the middle of my humdrum day.Stepping into "Omar's" was like finding a hidden door to another world. The place was decked out with such care and detail; it felt like I'd hitched a ride on a magic carpet. The seating, the decor, the ambiance—it all sang the song of the Nile, and let me tell you, I was ready to dance along. But the true magic of "Omar's" wasn't just in its design. Oh no, it was the food that had me spellbound. The chicken shawarma was like a love letter from the heavens, each bite a perfect harmony of spices and tenderness. The hummus? Creamier than a dream, and the falafel was so divine, I half-expected it to sprout wings and ascend right there and then. Now, I gotta be honest, the staff had about as much warmth as a snowman in January, but folks, I was there for the food, and the food did not disappoint. It was like finding water in the desert—precious and life-giving.And then there was Omar, the owner. The man was like a desert prince, charming and easy on the eyes, making rounds like he was welcoming you into his home. He had this way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room, a friend he'd known for years. It's not every day you find a place where the owner treats you like a long-lost buddy. So, if you're ever feeling like you need a break from the monotony, a taste of something truly special, head on over to "Omar's." Sure, the staff might not be the friendliest bunch, but when the food's that good, who's to complain? You're there for a culinary adventure, a taste of Egypt, and maybe, just maybe, to catch a glimpse of Omar, the friendliest face in the Mediterranean dining scene. Trust me, "Omar's" is a journey worth taking, no passport required.“
“The last time I passed by the bright green food truck parked on the corner of 31st and Ditmars, I had just eaten a massive meal at Hamido's but I made a mental note to return because the food smelled so good even from across the street. I recently was able to return, with an empty stomach, to try the King of Falafel & Shawarma. The vendor greeted me with a falafel to try, and I immediately noticed it was oval shaped. It did taste significantly crunchier, which I am attributing the larger surface area to, and the spices were fantastic. I had my heart set on trying their kefta but unfortunately by the time I arrived late Saturday evening, they were out of everything except their chicken and falafel, so I had a platter of that instead ($12). My plate was absolutely packed and smothered with their white sauce (highly recommend the red sauce as well as it packs a subtle punch), and the salad was a very welcome addition to the rice and mound of marinated and shaved chicken shawarma. There is so much flavor packed in every single bite, and the way the chicken was marinated definitely sets it apart from other shawarma carts I've tried thus far. Everyone I spoke to, including the other patrons waiting for their order, had only amazing praises to sing for KoF and I can easily understand why. I'm very happy to discover that they also have a truck on 53rd and Park, as Astoria is a bit of a trek for me.PS- An update: I have now finally managed to sample their chicken and beef shawarma, as well as their kefta too. My favorite still remains the chicken shawarma, which edges out the beef because it remains juicer and better marinated. I found the kefta a little too dry for my preference and it lacked that smoky grilled flavor. If you are going to order one thing, get their chicken or chicken and falafel platter with white sauce, red sauce, and extra tahini. And maybe a side order of falafels (4 for $3 to munch on the way home).“
“The food is delicious! Stopped by the grill house and had delicious chicken shawarma and tabouleh salad. The baba ganoush was excellent with the most amazing falafel I’ve ever had ever! It was moist and so full of flavor! The bronzino was cooked to perfection! The knafeh is ok. This place gets super busy but so worth the time to get the food as it’s made fresh to order.“
“What a welcoming authentic place! You feel like home here. Every single dish that I tried was particularly delectable. The service is always above and beyond. Such a fair price for hefty portions of food. I highly recommend to everyone and anyone.“
“I think they have a fantastic menu. Very healthy fast food I would qualify it because the time you spend there to be serve and eat makes it really comfortable and convenient if you are on the go. I love the quality of the food, I tried the falafel bowl, with the unlimited topics. The food was properly seasoned and tasty. I am moving on to be vegan so it's a relief to know new places like this where I can still eat without worrying about hidden surprises. Definitely I will be back and keep growing!“
“What a fun experience and the food was fabulous! I ordered the baba ghanoush, which came with the best pita I’ve ever had. I didn’t see any menus, so you should ask the staff to guide you for a selection or read reviews before you go! I luckily had seen the tagine recommended, so I got the tagine with calamari and shrimp. Definitely a portion for two or more! I went as a solo diner and it was much too filling for just me. I would definitely recommend this as a place to go with a group, so you can order a few different things to share. The tagine came bubbling in a clay pot, and was very intensely flavored! Weirdly, I almost liked the vegetables more than the seafood! The shrimp seemed a little over cooked, but I think that’s the nature of this dish with shrimp. I would love to try again with a fish that could handle more intense heat. The tagine came with this wonderful onion rice that was a great pair. The meal came out to about $60 (with bottled water), which again would be a better situation for two! Next time, I’d love to try a whole fish and the fried calamari! Highly recommend making the trip to Astoria—it was walkable from the N and then walkable to the Museum of the Moving Image.“
“I ate it with Lamb-Yellow Rice-White Sauce (Béchamel Sauce) and added a barbeque sauce (free). The portion size is so large that an adult woman would be full after eating only half!My group ate chicken, and the chicken was delicious too! Tandoori feel - try it with half chicken and half lamb (combo)!Cards were accepted, and the basic dish costs $9.Everyone said there was a long wait, so I went there around 5:50 (10 minutes before business started) and lined up, and I think I got it in about 30 minutes. As soon as business starts, there is a long line. There are a lot of benches in front of the building right next door, so if the weather is nice, you can eat right on the bench.“
“We had dinner here with our booking beginning at 7pm. It was quite full and there was only one server/host, I think the owner of the place, but she was able to cater to us among all other customers in a timely manner. The restaurant closed at 10pm but my friend and I lost track of time in conversation. We were not even asked to leave as there was still a party of 6 people and ourselves (party of 2). The host was so accommodating and welcomed us staying until after we were well done (sometime between 11pm -12am). Not once were we asked to leave. Also on dessert, we were able to get their almond pudding even around 11pm, and after the kitchen closed (which was something we wanted to taste while there). Overall it was a memorable experience - food, Turkish wine & the service. It's my second time being there. I would go again.“
“Food is good. Menu is mainly lamb, seafood, and chicken. Service was excellent. Restaurant was mostly empty when we went at 4pm on a Saturday. Has a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend for kids. This is more of a date place.“
“Living work of incredibly sincere art, in which the artist generously allows visitors to sit and have a meal. Really incredible. He has the daily menu memorized. We had hummus, cauliflower with a light pomegranate sauce, lamb shank, and koshary.“
“Hooooo boy that red sauce is ???. Kept wondering why the lady behind the counter be looking at me like I was insane when I told her to pour more on it like three times. Anyways. The combo platter is fantastic, quick service and very reasonable price for the quality and quantity. Zero complaints here. Great experience, will absolutely be coming back... probably gonna go easier on the red sauce tho.“
“This place is a staple in my lunch rotation! Every Thursday I’m excited to order food. The quality is second to none, compared to the alternatives. Had a pleasure speaking with the owner. He’s very professional and treats customers well. Highly recommend.“

“Awesome food! Best Persian restaurant/ chelo kababby in the area hands down!!! Happy new year!Vegetarian options: Great salads and falafel! Provides fresh awesome feta cheese on an already great salad.Kid-friendliness: Very friendly staff place and awesome owner.“
“Alright, I confess: I ate my food without taking photos first, but hear me when I say: it was DELISH! I had the MATCHA LATTE w/MACADAMIA MILK and the EGG SANDWICH, which seemed simple, but is so flavorful and gratifying that I almost ordered one to go.The situation: catching up with a dear sis of mine I haven’t seen in what feels like ages. We scheduled to meet up for brunch and a catch up, which led to a tarot/oracle reading - more in that soon, I promise. It was a grand time, and had we more time, there would be photos. Next time, I assure you.Let me know if you’re in the neighborhood and decide to pop by. I might be there myself, so say heyloooo! ?“
“What a find ...am picky but this place checks all the boxes be it flavor , cleanliness, fresh, friendly staff, portion size and by the way fries are just amazing . Yes the meat did felt a little bit chewy but am sure the team is working on it and get there soon .. hoping to get there soon again.“
“Naya @ Moynihan Train Hall is my favorite Naya location ! Love their Shawarma chicken & roasted cauliflower. Order ahead for pick up & it’s always fresh & ready for me to grab & catch my train. Also, unlike other “salad” places, Naya has unlimited toppings that’s included in the price !! You can’t beat that perk, exotic flavors & it’s healthy !!!“
“My wife and I met another couple for dinner last night at roses. I was searching for a restaurant on yelp in the Englewood area as it was halfway between our friends and I. Made a reservation for 530 and when we showed up we were the only customers in the restaurant. not a lot of atmosphere, but clean. The menu looked interesting. We ordered hummus & Babaganoush To share, I had the mixed grill, my friend had the Rosies mixed grill. My wife had the Shawarma and her other friend had the chicken kebab. Everything was fresh, moist, and excellent, particularly the Shawarma. One other family of three came in while we're eating, but otherwise, the restaurant was empty. Our server was attentive and respectful, and took good care of us. He told us that they are usually very crowded on the weekends - understandable since it was Monday of a holiday weekend. We will definitely be back again !“
