We visited The West Essex Diner on a bustling Sunday morning, arriving around noon. Despite the crowd, we were seated within a brief 10-minute wait, which was understandable given the rush. However, the dining experience left much to be desired. I ordered a classic breakfast featuring sunny-side-up eggs with a side of steak and home fries, accompanied by toast and coffee. My friend opted for a western omelet paired with French toast. Disappointingly, the French toast lacked powdered sugar, and despite requesting jelly, our waiter seemed to disappear.The food, unfortunately, was rather lackluster, lacking any distinctive flavor or appeal. While the service was initially prompt, our waiter was notably absent after serving our meals, only reappearing when we requested the check. It was then that he offered more coffee, but by that point, I was already ready to leave. Overall, the experience felt ordinary, and the food failed to surpass what I could have easily prepared at home with more flavor.

Been coming here for years. Stopped in for breakfast after the gym. Apparently my moneys no good plenty of tables. But was not seated. I'll remember to wear my Rolex next time. Will NEVER be back. Came for breakfast and wasn't even seated, just stared at like a street urchin.

Had a family of 9 for dinner here and even though it was crowded, they sat us rather quickly (in under 20 minutes). The waitress was super attentive, the food was good, they were playing music from my youth (which I LOVED). Great experience overall!!
