This place has the most delicious and wholesome sourdough breads. They have croissants etc. that are also popular but I just buy their breads. Their wholewheat bread with sesame and spelt bread with sesame are my favorites.

I am thoroughly enchanted by this café's remarkable offerings. The establishment's commitment to superior quality and distinctiveness in its culinary creations is truly commendable. Each pastry I had the pleasure of tasting was exquisitely flaky, a testament to the chef's adept skill, creating an almost magical contrast with the delicately soft interiors—an impeccable balance of textures. The egg sandwich, generously laden with perfectly cooked egg, was complemented by a sauce that achieved an ideal equilibrium of spiciness, enhancing the overall flavor profile. In sum, this café is unequivocally a gem worth exploring, and I wholeheartedly endorse it as an essential culinary experience.Vegetarian options: Bread options

Fast friendly service. I was surprised at how quickly my food was prepared on a busy Saturday morning. Sandwich could have fed 4 people in my opinion.

Visited twice. Both times no bread was available except what they refer to as focaccia with huge air holes in it. Not so great for making sandwiches. The two over-sized croissants available were badly burnt. Size does not justify their higher prices. No pastries available behind the glass at 11:30am, only burnt croissants, and two heavily seeded “scones”. Skimpy cappuchino was served in a tiny takeout cup. Nothing special. Pretty cafe but with no seating available. Unless they have exceptionally good bread for sale, I will not go there again. Not sure I want to stand outside on a weekend just to buy bread.Went back on Friday and bought a loaf of olive bread. The only options were olive or fennel raisin. The olives, Castelvetrano, were so large, and many of the centers were spoiled. They were only cut in half, rather than slicing them, which would’ve been the prudent way of doing it. We picked the olives out and toasted the bread. It was OK except for the bitter olive flavor that permeated the entire loaf with a vinegary flavor. Glad I didn’t wait in line on the weekend to buy this bread.

We were introduced to Bread and Culture at the West Windsor Farmers Market. During the summer we would get there just after opening at 9 am. A line starts forming before opening but we were always able to get what we wanted and enough to send our kid back to Brooklyn with our favorite bread. The Winter Market opens at 10am and is only every other Saturday. Last Market we got there at 9:30 there were 10 people ahead of us. When it was our turn they only had two types of bread left. Both excellent but not first choice. There were probably 40+ people on line behind us. We decided to drive (an hour) to their bakery in Flemington on a Thursday and arrived at 11am.....no more bread. We bought pastries which were good but oh how we missed the bread. I just wish we could get this wonderful bread with a little less hassle.

This is the spot. The food is just…special. Nourishing, and consistently outstanding. The staff are friendly and working as fast as they can (you literally watch them whiz around nonstop). But back to the food. It’s just…high quality, and delicious, and daring/creative/new all in the best way. There can be a line sometimes, but is the food and service worth it? In my humble opinion, yes. And we’ve met some nice people in line. If they let you give 6 stars, I would.

Everything that comes out of these ovens is amazing. You literally cannot make a bad choice! High quality ingredients, exceptional execution, and a passion for what they do make for a product in a class of its own. I just wish coming here did not require an hour commitment. The line moves slowly but I cannot blame the store completely as many people get to the cashier and have not decided on what they want and that's after standing in line staring at all of the offerings for 30 minutes. What I would like to recommend is the ability to come in just for the wonderful coffee and not have to wait in the same line as food.

Excellent sourdough bread! Just amazing taste and consistency! You pay some more but no one makes it as they do, it is worth the money! Staff are incredibly nice too.
