Chilangos of twenty years ago was legendary. We’ve been 50+ times over the years. It was really great for a long time, but the times we’ve gone recently, it just wasn’t worth it. Food is blah, drinks are poorly balanced, and service was lacking. The chimichanga was always my go to. Tacos now are something you’d expect to get in the Mid West, drowning in unnecessary toppings. Chips and salsa on the table are still great. Wish it would go back to the way it was!

Delicious authentic Mexican food and drinks - a staple in Highlands and the surrounding area. The owner is super friendly and is always accommodating to our family. One of the few authentic Mexican restaurants in the area that serves alcohol. The fajitas and margaritas are some of the best around!

We are locals and have eaten at Chilangos before. However, recently we had an exceptional experience! When we walked in to arrange catering for our engagement party, Eric, the owner's son, welcomed us warmly. We spent a Saturday morning with Eric, discussing the catering menu and customization options. Chilangos is all about cooking for you and with love, and they certainly delivered. The tacos were a solid 10/10 at our engagement party, where we had over 60-70 guests who were asking where the food is from. A huge thank you to Chilangos and Eric for making our celebration unforgettable!

3 stars for the good service and environment. Short rib was a bit over cooked, refried beans and rice aren’t authentic mexican.The bean soup was watery, didn’t really have any flavor, my impression was it was poured right from the can. However, the sweet mashed potatoes was very good and our waitress removed the bean soup from the bill.
Very cousy relaxed and decent Mexican Restaurants and bars, I really liked it, food, service and ambiance great, nice menu, the barmaid Veggy is great. Highly recommended

Not sure whats happened here. Used to be reliable. Tonight something seemed off. On a beautiful summer Friday night the place was not busy at all. Used to be. Not now. Service was okay but the food took its sweet time coming out. Sure chips and salsa was quickly served. Main entrees took a long time. The place was not busy at all. Food was underwhelming, fajitas promised a half pound of chicken, was no where near that amount on the plate. Margarita and daiquiri was quite weak and full of sugar. We waited a long time for mediocre food when it should've been sooo good (again, it was not). We don't plan to come back
