The food here is good. The attitude is terrible! We ordered $80 in food for a special lunch for the kids at our not for profit center. When we requested 5 more fortune cookies (so each child could have one) the man behind the counter wanted $5 for it. They kept their cookies but lost a customer. We will never order from here again.

I've been coming here more than two years and was always more than satisfied.For those who complain about the owners attitude, it's because he puts all his service into the actual food itself! I find it quite charming actually.

China Star Our go to spot for Chinese food takeout in Monmouth Beach closed recently. As I understand China star is related to China Sea Chinese takeout in the highlands. My daughter and I decided to give it a chance and confirm. China sea offers takeout and delivery to Seabright which is an added bonus. We decided to pickup the order as we have had bad luck with accuracy on delivery orders. It is confirmed, they are related. My daughter recognized the employees and they are arguing with each mother as usual. The food is the same, the dim sum are still the best item they make. Everything was very good. A little turned off with the .75 charge for house duck sauce and mustard but hey what can you do. Nice to know we have a solid Chinese takeout in the area.

Fast AF. Food is a little above average. People are nice. No reason to give them less than five stars. Don't expect lots of extras like menus or sometimes even cookies and napkins. All in all superb service.

The food here is awesome. The spare ribs in particular might be the best we've ever had, and pretty much everything we've had here has been good. That said, what was a 5-star place before loses a star now because they've become OBSCENELY expensive. We ordered two large orders of spare ribs and an order of crab rangoons, and our order totaled $48. The large spare ribs are apparently $19 per order now. Granted, it's for 10 ribs, but a bunch of the ribs you get are clearly sawed on the bias so that you're not even getting the whole rib. If you're going to extend your inventory (I have no problem with that), then don't simultaneously spike your prices. And if you're going to spike your prices, don't get cheap with the product. The tough part is that they don't have a website, they're not on any delivery apps, etc., so there wasn't any way to see their new pricing. This order has been a go-to for us when we're down the shore, and it has typically been around $30 (which also wasn't especially cheap, but was worth it). A 60% spike is crazy. We'll still order from here, because the food is that good, but probably less quantity and definitely less frequently.

BAD CHOICE!!!I just moved to highlands and was looking for a new place.I have NEVER EVER written a bad review on any place, no matter how disappointed ive ever been.However, the owner of this place is a disrespectful arrogant louse.I ordered food and one of the items i ordered was chicken and rice soup to settle my ailing stomach. So i ordered it with extra rice. I recieved a container with just flavored white rice and NO Broth, ONLY moist chicken rice (NOT a drop of soup) When i respectfully called the owner and told him there was NO Broth he told me i ordered it that way and it was "Not his Problem".He made NO Apology or even an offer to rectify it now or at a future date.I raced there to confront his arrogance and he still made NO Apology.FYI; Honestly (unbiased) the rest of the food was tasteless, over cooked and greasy. THIS PLACE STINKS ACROSS THE BOARD.DO NOT GO THERE you will be sorely Dissatisfied and its ratty dirty looking place. GROSS !!!

This is standard fare Chinese take out but they do it really well and is consistent good. Egg foo young, any chicken dish or seafood dish has been very good.
