A new restaurant in our bedroom community of Hillsborough, NJ, Mama Fanti is a place you don't want to miss. We went around 6:00 on a Friday night and were seated even though we didn't have a reservation. We found the food VERY flavorful! I really liked the sauces which must have some "secret" ingredients because they tasted better than what I have grown used to. We had a stuffed zucchini appetizer, three mains, a salad and a dessert for around $150.The salad was plenty for sharing. The eggplant Parmesan was interesting. I'm used to very thinly sliced eggplant with lots of breading, but Mama Fanti's was thickly sliced, nicely breaded with a delicious sauce. The veal cutlet topped with arugula was great, but the chicken dish (see below) was out of this world. I'll get that next time I go. We finished with an incredibly light tiramisu (one serving for all three of us).

Food and service are excellent. Prices are a little higher than most Italian restaurants, but the quality is better. Pasta was perfect al dente. Scallops were cooked just right. Risotto was excellent, but maybe a little runny. The atmosphere could be a little more relaxed. Lights could be dimmed a bit for dinner. Will definitely go back.

If you are one who TRULY LOVES and APPRECIATES exceptional authentic Sicilian Italian cuisine, you should visit Mama Fanti's at least once, which I can assure you will not be your last dining visit here! Everything on their Regular and Daily Special menus is always lovingly prepared and presented, and 5-star delicious, albeit a steak dish special--not filet mignon--will cost you $45. However, none of Mama Fanti's freshly prepared appetizers or soups--especially my favorite their Italian Wedding soup, main courses and their various desserts--especially my favorite their Crème Brûlée, prepared by Chef LAZARO will disappoint one with a discerning palette and high expectation for really delicious Italian food. And if you have any special dietary or other concerns, do not hesitate to speak directly with the ever present, very attentive and amicable Manager DUBLAS whose brother is THE Chef. Bom Gosto; Bom Appetito! ecg, updated 2/25/2024Vegetarian options: See menu and speak to the Manager Dublas about their available options.Dietary restrictions: Speak directly to the Manager Dublas.Parking: Adequate for this strip mall.Kid-friendliness: Accomodates children.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level direct entry.

My husband and I enjoyed our brunch at Mama Fantis Kitchen. To start off we were offered a complumentary bowl of asparagus soup that was perfect. My husband is a very picky eater, he ordered the Manga Egg Florintino and he devoured the savory egg dish. I had the eggplant parm. And have to say it was like no other. The eggplant was crisp and sauce was outstandingThe atmosphere was authentic; the service was attentive and cheerful. We will returnVegetarian options: Eggplant and soup is a great option.

Very yummy food in an inviting environment served by thoughtful and accommodating staff. What more can I say? They even accommodated my kid’s allergies. Went for lunch and will go again for dinner soon!

Ordered take out. Of course take out is never as good as dining in BUT- man, I was seriously disappointed. Ordered the rice ball app, veal piccata and chicken Marsala. Rice balls were more of a consistency of a potato croquette and the veal was just ok. Piccata sauce was quite oily and you could tell it was a low quality veal. Kind of rubbery and chewy. The chicken Marsala had a funky taste to it. And don't even get me started on the presentation of the chicken. It literally looked like they placed everything in the to go container and shook it up and then kicked it around the kitchen for a while playing soccer with the container. Or looked like my two year old was throwing it around. All in all a meal I would liken to the meal to Olive Garden quality and taste.
