Great for a date or take out. Their spicy rolls (tuna, salmon, yellowtail) are excellent. And it’s been my go-to for takeout for about 6 years now. Their maki combo is also an excellent value and servers are polite.

I went for hibachi dinner with my kids for my birthday. My kids were excited to see the chef cook the food in front of us. We sat on one side of the table away from another family as i had a 1 year old the chef came and cooked for the other family and mine but only cooked on the other side of the table and we had his back the whole time. The chef gave us much less food . I told the waiter that we are not seeing the chef cook and asked to speak to the manager . Once our food was served i spoke to the manager and told him that we did not see the show and it was my birthday. My kids were watching from a different table the flames going up and were interested. He said they were short of chef and did not offer any type of discount . He did not show any interest in my concern . As we left the manager was so interested in his phone than responding goodbye to us.

Food never arrived and then they called me to cancel my order after an hour and a half of waiting. I used to love it here. Super

Seaweed salad and Kani salad were good. The Kani was a little bit meh but fine for me. The spicy salmon roll was terrible and I don't say that lightly. It was salmon blended with tempura and heavy on the tempura. Never experienced any sushi ever tasting oily and fried like that. Just rice, nori, and the salmon puree... 16.50 disappointing.

I've been coming to Ayame since it opened back in 2010/2011. It's always amazing. Great quality, great prices, and it's BYOB! I usually come for the sushi but the Hibachi is SO FUN!
Try the white dragon roll, the out of control roll, and the king lobster roll you won't be disappointed!

We’ve been ordering the Sushi for 2 dinner platter for months now but yesterday’s order had the rolls more on rice than the fish. I really hope this will be a one time thing

Food is great! Absolutely delicious. Atmosphere and service is severely lacking. AC was off and we were sweating, they waited until I asked them to turn on the AC. Waitress never checked in on us and I had to wave her down. You'd think its busy right? Hoboken in a Saturday? Nope, we were the only ones there and she still couldn't be bothered to check in on us.Also the hibachi chef was so boring and didn't even try to go through the motions. I wouldn't care if it was just me but I had my kid with me and he loves hibachi chef performances. To lackadaisically give a half hearted show was just bad. But like I said earlier, food was banging so I won't complain too much. I don't know if I'd be comfortable coming back here, maybe takeout.
