Came here with a friend a couple weeks ago on a Saturday evening because fat taco was full. Had a couple drinks and dinner and dinner was just awful. Ordered the hangar steak and it was seasoned, but only the outside. It tasted like I'm it was just boiled meat. Really, just awful. Almost inedible. Drinks were fine, and service was fine (we were at the bar). But prob some of the worst food I've had in Hoboken. Really unfortunate.

I was referred to this place by a cousin… I was so excited to come to Panela for the first time. Tonight we were out celebrating my cousin as his 32nd birthday is approaching. The Hostess at the front were very kind and welcoming. At the door there was no policy and no one told us anything specific except for simply getting us a table. When we sat the waiter was nice. She was very attentive and made sure we were good but we also felt very rushed. The 3 of us ordered drinks and while we were enjoying we felt pressured to order food as the waiter kept coming every 3 minutes to ask if we were ready to order food. My cousin stepped outside to get some air and so therefore we decided to wait for him before we ordered anything else. As we were waiting for my cousin, our waiter approached us again mentioning that since we weren’t ordering food, that we should go to the bar because this area was for dining. I understood that this area was only for dining and respectfully told her to close the check in respect to the restaurants policy. But we should have been told that from the beginning. We ultimately felt pressured and uncomfortable………

I came for a cocktail making experience and it was so fun! 10/10 would recommend for a girls night or date night. Extra trip you might want to Uber here. lol it was great!
