They're permanently closed. There's a For Rent sign in the window now. Not sure what happened, it seemed really sudden. They were always so busy. Perhaps too much for the new management so they called it quits at the end of their lease.

Rice Shop is one of our favorite local restaurants. I would highly recommend roast duck with rice. The roast duck, pork etc. meat dish are always good. I even like the rice...rice seems to be even more tasty with fragrance (I am not kidding)... We also tried several other dishes, rice congee and scallion pancake etc . They are authentic Chinese food and tasty.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. By far the freshest, most authentic Chinese food in Hoboken. Their duck/roast pork bbq combo is the bomb. Can't speak to the delivery experience as I always pick up. I decided to try despite negative reviews. So glad I did, because the food is always spot on, tasty and cheap.

This place got a new owner in 2021 (but kept the name unchanged). They now serve authentic Cantonese roast meats. I’ve been going there every week or so. The owner is super friendly.

i order from this place at least once a week and have been doing so for two month now. i usually give them my phone number so they can pull my account and i order half duck and hot and sour soup. last night when ordering for pickup (well at least thats what i wanted to do)she asked me my name and said she couldnt find it. without hesitation i gave her my phone number because they always spell my name wrong so i knew she wouldnt find me that way. i was told to order thru grubhub and hung up on. i called back about 8 times and its like they saw my number and purposely ignored my number. my kids enjoy the duck from the place clearly i do too thats why i order it so often. im very disappointed in the way i was treated with as much money as ive spent over the past few month. with that being said i wont be giving any more of my money to a place that disregards its most loyal and consistent customers.

This place is the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever had,worst dine in experience pay first then eat after I was treating my boss there he literally threw his lunch in the trash we ordered lunch special roast pork and roast duck rice and vegetables the meats were served cold the rice served in a takeout box the vegetables served on a paper plate with wrinkles the order was dine in the food presentation was awful. To finish up I got food poisoning really bad. I don’t recommend this place to anyone!
Not sure how this place is below a 4 star average. They are one of the best value lunch places in Hoboken. For $12 you can get a bunch of meat if your choosing. Hope they stick around and do good business.

I had Rice Shop for the first time last night since their renovation and I have to say they somehow kicked the food up a notch as well. Highly recommend.

We had the spicy beef noodle soup and duck over rice. Both dishes are authentic, and delicious. Standard Americanized Chinese food is also available. They have an open kitchen and it is very clean. They do have a small store front with seating for dine-in customers. Great location, right on Washington St. I can't wait to try more item on the menu.
