Super rude customer service and the chicken curry I ate was not good. It tasted very salty and my chicken was not cooked the way I requested before ordering then when asked about this the owner head chef the bald guy wanted to talk about how he has been to jail and participated in food competitions which I didn’t ask about it. Overall I would avoid this place jersey city has plenty of great food from every country

Fish was really tough ? and bland. No flavor in any of tge dish. The Cabbage could have been cooked a little more. Plantains were good. Oxtails were okay but salty. I so wanted to love this place. The atmosphere seems cool though it was early so I don't really know.

UPDATE:My opinion on how delicious the Rasta pasta is remains unchanged. My partner disputed the extra $15 with Uber, who immediately credited it back. They said they would honor the complaint after we sent a screenshot of the cost on the restaurant website (18.97 vs. $33.79), but stated that they would be contacting the restaurant to adjust their Uber settings because Uber did not add the $15 charge, and it’s the restaurant’s responsibility to adjust it because they do not collect that extra fee for themselves.Hopefully it all gets sorted soon. For $18.79, I’d used this way more often!Overall stars have been adjusted to 4/5.Original review:Delicious! Best Rasta pasta in NJ!We’ve ordered take out twice and it hasn’t disappointed. My partner got a chicken sandwich that he really liked. He said it was crispy, well-flavored, and had a nice piece of chicken. He also commented that he liked the curry chicken less, gave the curry a 3/5.I’ve ordered the Rasta pasta twice and really enjoyed it both times. I’m super particular about my Rasta pasta and this one fits the bill. It’s well seasoned, has a nice amount of yummy sauce. The only thing I’d say is that it’s $17 to add chicken, so for a $33 plate, it should be bigger. I pay that much (or less) for a family size helping of anything at any other restaurant. This dish is not shareable if you want to be satisfied.Picture is of some of my plate, as I forgot to photograph it before I went in!Definitely 4/5 on food. 3/5 overall due to excessive pricing without the amount to back it up.

The food was decent but the wait had me baffled based on the empty dining room. 10$ Watered down Sorrel drink was the kicker. A little detail like gravy on the rice goes a long way to hit the spot but I was denied that since the order was wrong. The wings were tasty (5) and the (5) Shrimp on the pasta hit the spot. No cabbage on a Wednesday evening is laughable for a side that should be a staple. I’m left wondering whats going on in the kitchen. 60$! Read other reviews about the watered down drinks and it hasn’t been fixed. $7 for plantains?! Wonder how long this place can stay in business?? Good luck!

I had such a great experience at FRP and so did the rest of my party. The atmosphere was very welcoming. We felt right at home. The waitress Yvonne was so attentive and Egan was very informative about the dishes which made it easy for us to choose our entrees. When the food came everything was hot and the presentation was excellent. We all really enjoyed our food. I had the wings which were so juicy. Two in party had oxtail which was perfectly seasoned and was falling off the bone. And the rasta pasta was enjoyed by friend who loves spicy food. Their fresh drinks were so good the ginger, Sorrel limeade was a perfect mix. Overall this was a great experience I'll definitely be back.

Chose this Eatery for my mom’s 75th Bday dinner and glad that I did. Made the reservations on same day flying in from tampa to Jersey City, the service was Immaculate.. The Hostess right down to the Chef and father and Brother made the Occasion intimate, personal, friendly and casual with a twist of class, more special was my Antiguan mom was Happy! #Supportlocal #Caribbeaneatery ??PS: their hours varies opens for breakfast, closes and reopens at 5 pm to 10 pm and sats I believe I was told from 12 pm. You can shoot them an email they’re good at responding in a reliable time too.Vegetarian options: I had the stewed potatoes curried w rice/ beans, plaintains and cabbage w carrots. Hearty meal for a non meat eater or flexitarian.Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is more adult vibe, but I can see a family gathering to be included.

Let me tell you, Caribbean food would not be Caribbean food without the infused Caribbean seasoning and flavors. I ordered fish with rice and peas and I had a side order of cassava fries. Everything was so deliciously made. The atmosphere is inviting. The service was phenomenal. The waitress was so friendly. I had an awesome experience, and I will be back.
