Jiangnan's location in NJC has to be my favorite restaurant in Jersey City. It is equally as good as the location in Manhattan in terms of food, service, and atmosphere, though one thing to note is that they do not have an alcohol menu.I come back here all the time because everything is delicious – you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My top dishes and gotos after trying a solid portion of the food here over the years includes: chicken/fish maw soup (or Buddha's temptation soup, this tastes like the former with seafood), egg yolk prawn, lotus root with sticky rice, braised meatballs, and the yogurt and fruit dessert. The duck here is also great, if you like it on the sweeter side.DO NOT sleep on the drinks here!! They are amazing, and the pineapple beer and sodas are both fun and aesthetic.Portion sizes are pretty big so it's worth it to go with a group. Otherwise, you'll have lots of leftovers (no complains there either). :)

I’ve dined at Jiangnan NJC many times and have tried most of their menu at this point. I started out loving this place for its creative menu and chinesey atmosphere. I still think it’s great for a nice dinner with friends. However, my impression of the food has soured over time. The only thing that’s consistently good here is the peking duck (unpictured). The rest of the menu falls short, especially for the price point. I’ve found their special dishes to be novelty-driven, underwhelming and poorly balanced, although not bland. We’ve also found the service to be impatient and unattentive, to the point that we’ve spent the entire meal waiting for water or tea to be served. Would still recommend as a nice gathering spot in JC but maybe manage your expectations.

I am so happy to dine in at this local restaurant multiple times, it’s almost my 食堂, have nearly tried every dish on the menu, and none of them let me down. Among the menu, the Peking Duck and 清炒丝瓜 (Stir-fried Loofah) stand out as my absolute favorites.

Food was decent, ambience was very average and service bordering on bad. For the prices they command, this place leaves a lot to be

In a neighborhood that's essentially 80% Asian at this point, Jersey City has really disappointing Asian restaurants (Chinese in particular but it's not like there's good Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, etc.). Not sure if Jiang Nan is a franchise that's a part of the broader chain but this one is solid. Located right off Exchange Place with a fairly comprehensive menu, this restaurant can be a good stopgap solution for you Chinese restaurant craving. Best to go with a big group so you can order a good variety of dishes. Not every one is authentic but there are some gems here.

(Overall: A) - Upon arriving in Jersey City, Jiang Nan looked like one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area so of course I had to try. I later found out that one of the sister branches are on the Michelin guide. With their self-claimed best duck in town, we of course had to try their Peking Duck and the soup pairing. Overall, I was thrilled with my experience giving the mostly lackluster options within Jersey City. The food is high quality, yet still maintains the traditional Chinese roots for an authentic experience. The service was quick and fast and the restaurant itself looks very modern as well.(Chili Garlic Eggplant: A) - This was a well-made eggplant dish that was tender and scrumptious with a crispy exterior. I love the authentic flavor development from the garlic chili sauce that paired heavenly with rice.(Seafood Fried Rice: B) - This is a fragrant and reserved fried rice with plentiful amounts of tendered seafood cooked perfectly from the heat of the wok. I think this dish could benefit from some obvious presentational improvements as it is very dull in color and looked like it was molded into a dome but then destroyed or not properly done.(Peking Duck: A) - At $46 for half a duck, I found this to be on the pricey side for a duck. That being said, the duck was very nice and had lots of meat to go around for two people. It was mostly authentic with the crispy skin and the traditional accompaniments of sugar, hoisin, cucumber, scallion white, and the thin crepe. The new additions to me was the pineapple, edible gold, and the presentational tray, that I think gave it that elevated royal look. Overall, very high quality; would recommend.(Duck Bone Soup: A) - Honestly, I think this is the most value item on the menu -- they do not put the duck carcass to waste but instead into a flavorful broth with some traditional chinese ingredients to create a healthy and hearty soup. It's full of nutrients and even the whole duck drumstick and was a very good dish overall. While the presentation is of course difficult, working on this component could help elevate this to a next level dish.--Food: +1Presentation: E Price: EAtmosphere: +1Service: +1Menu: +1Overall: +4 AIG: @amei.eats

Jiang nan is an upscale Chinese chain that I have seen popping up around NYC. I was excited to try it in Jersey City - there was a short wait on a very packed Sunday. We ordered:- Half Peking duck which came with flour wraps, cucumber, hosin sauce, etc. Their special and definitely a treat- chicken fish maw soup - good soup although the yellow color intimidated us at first- steamed lotus root with sticky rice - caution, this is sweet and was not as good as we expected. They had a yelp check in offer which I leveraged to get a refreshing fruit tea.Service was great with amazing complimentary tea served in a cute tea pot. Decor and vibes were on point - a great modern Chinese restaurant that serves more upscale options. It admittedly won't be my go to for modern Chinese food, but it delivers a good meal.

The peking duck is excellent! Also recommend the sweet&sour spareribs and cumin lamb.
