“The place is nice and the dessert is pretty good, my only complaint would be that from the 3 times I've ordered something here there's been eggshells 2 of those times. Whoever is baking these needs to start using a strainer or something if they can't keep themselves from dropping eggshells. While the desserts are good its off putting and makes me unsure if I wanna keep coming back and taking the chance there will be more egg shells.“

“Really impressed! We asked Stuff by SJ to make a custom cake for a pizza-themed birthday party. Working with them (Drew) was super easy and stress free. They were helpful, responsive, well priced and even delivered our cake to the restaurant ahead of the party. Everyone complimented the design and taste of the cake so it was a big hit. So we had to make sure to send our thanks to Baked!We had a cutting cake with two different flavors: Oopsy Daisy on the top, Sweet and Salty on the bottom. Then we sent out platters of cupcakes to our tables of those flavors, plus a mix of others. Additionally, we were able to serve some gluten-free and vegan options for guests with dietary restrictions. Annemarie really helped us work through all the details beforehand, and everything turned out perfect on the day of. “These treats are as delicious as they look. There has not been one person that I have shared with that did not find the cupcakes delicious. She’s very professional and accommodating. I had to switch my order last minute and she didn’t disappoint with getting them done for me the day before nor give a problem to switch due to the change of my situation. “My 1st time here as I heard about it from my sister in North Carolina so when I drive by I had to stop in. I was greeted by a very friendly young lady who was so knowledgeable in all the different flavors and as a novice myself she helped me to decide on the pumpkin spice ( limited edition) and the strawberry bundle cake! They were very good ,and just enough for one person. I don't like very sweet icing so I didn't eat much of the icing but the cakes were delicious ? will definitely go back again“

“I was eyeing their honeycomb for a hot second now. I was in the area so got the honeycomb to go. The honeycomb comes in two sizes: the large was around $9 something and the small was $5 something. The big one is the better value and honestly, I had no issues finishing it all myself. The lady assisting me was very nice and friendly, I felt very welcomed! Too bad I was in a rush, otherwise I would've loved to get a drink and dined in the cafe. The cafe was very cozy and I noticed they had a sign up for 3 hour maximum seating and a drink purchase is required. The honeycomb was already prepared and wrapped in plastic wrap. She packed it up for me to go. I'm not sure if I had dined in, she would've warmed them up for me but that would be really nice. They tasted great on their own - a little lukewarm but even better when I went home and heated it up in the oven. The honey that it came with was so delicious. The filling is cream cheese but I saw they also had one filled with Nutella. I might come again to try their Nutella flavor. Overall: cozy cafe with a delicious honeycomb pastry“

“I had went to three different bakery trying to get a specific design a cake and was turned away . Finally I was recommended by a friend to to see Emily at Bella Vida pastry . Im glad I did ,I have to say my goddaughter sweet 16 turned out so beautiful it was more then we expected we sent her a picture and she matched it to the tee, and it tasted amazing. And let me not forget to mention their very reasonable in their prices They will definitely get my business again.“

They went above and beyond by adding flowers to the cake, just beautifully decorated. So delicious, too. “Recently ordered a custom cake for my daughter’s Sweet 16, and they did not disappoint. She wanted three cakes (vanilla, chocolate, and the signature apple cake) designed to theme and this was perfection. I would have been happy enough because of how great they complemented the lavender butterfly theme, but they were so delicious there was almost nothing to take home! Definitely recommend!“

Service was quick and the ice cream was delicious and creamy! “This was my first time trying this bakery after reading both the positive and negative reviews about it. It seems that they worked hard to improve the customer service yet i encountered one female employee at the bakery section that had an attitude, for absolutely no reasons, during one of my two visits . Other employees were neutral, they are just here to take your order and give you the box and that's it. No welcoming atmosphere, no good morning, no smiles, just the "Hi, how can i help you" or "next".Maybe because the bakery is always super busy employees are a little stressed, but even if this is the case, with little training they can be more professional and show some warm hospitality. Customers usually perceive a bakery as their own kitchen area, they step in anticipating the warmth of own place, especially early in the morning when they need good vibes at the start of a new fresh day. And this is mutual by the way, like if employees share a smile or a warm greeting they will also be rewarded a warm smile back and this will automatically boost their moods and take away all the workload stress. Overall, i liked the quality customer service at the deli section more than the bakery section. At the deli counter, employees were keen on answering my questions patiently as it was my first visit. While at the bakery section, they are acting like robots with a pokerface, they hurry you up and as i mentioned above, get an attitude that instantly makes you feel uncomfortable and sorry about coming here at 6 a.m. in the morning. So, this is my sincere advice in this department. As for the food quality, they need to improve their sandwiches as they lack this one magic touch that makes all the difference. Their sandwiches are typically made based on the classic catalog instructions; very straight forward process that you personally can prepare, even better, at your own kitchen. As for the bakery pastry, it was fresh and come in many varities. Some items were good like the Crème brûlée, but it had a strong egg taste! The cannoli was really good, so was the old fashion no sugar roll and the cinnamon roll. I tried the pastéis de nadas but i personally found it below average. I also tried the almonds orange cup but it tasted like cherry medicine instead, with zero almonds orange flavor! The pecan roll was good. The curved crescent roll was way better in taste than the straight croissant, no clue why! I might try the white napoleon next time. Overall, the best of the bakery section is by all means the melhada bread; no fat, no sugar, no dairy and no yeast. THIS, i will stay loyal to, period. Other than that, i would go grab one or two pastry items from time to time and until they improve the quality of sandwiches, i don't think i would try them again. Yet, i must say "Thanks" to the smiley friendly welcoming ladies at the deli section.“

“Tonnie's Minis was such a great addition to downtown Newark. They offer so many different flavors of cake, cupcake, minis ice cream and push pops. My favorite flavors are the strawberry twist and lemon. I always take my son when he are in the area.“
