“This was a very spur decision after my work brought me down to Lakewood for the day. This was right where we parked our cars and got good Yelp reviews, so I figured let's walk over and take a look. As soon as I walked inside, I discovered it was still the 1970s. Very old-school place. Definitely not kosher like most Lakewood restaurants - this is right on the border and has dairy, meat, and very much non-kosher meats at that. Well, if that doesn't bother you, you will find that Red Moon offers great food. I actually got a sandwich instead of pizza and it came out with a perfect balance of cheese, great sauce, excellent crispy bread, piping hot. It's definitely made to order, because we had a few minutes to sit and, not really go over the project so much, but just chat with the owner. Very friendly guy. I don't know if I would believe this is "NY style" pizza, but it sure offers the goods for the sammies! If work brings me back, I may risk a slice to see if there's a fifth star hanging around.“

The food is always good and with generous portions. If you get an entrée, you might be fed for two days. Yes, take those leftovers home! The staff, from the counter help to the waitresses to the owner are all simply wonderful. They work hard to keep this great place running during these crazy days and making people feel at home. If you want a nice Italian meal and a nice quaint dining room vibe, this is the place. It’s also a BYOB. Don’t bother with the big chains where you’re just a number.
