“Finally visited this neighborhood restaurant last night and it was nicely decorated for Valentine’s Day and they gave all female diners a long stemmed rose. As they were busy, service was slow, which is understandable under the circumstances. The food was very fresh and the eggplant with tomato, creamy hummus, lamb chops and chicken shish were very good, but some dishes were not as flavorful as described by other reviewers and in my experience with this cuisine. (But this is not a deal breaker). I expect it might be even better on a regular night.That said, the high ceilings, exposed brick, comfortable furniture, tasteful Turkish decor and the red and gold paint, created a warm and inviting dining room with lovely background music. Our server was friendly and the owner stopped by to check on us after it began to quiet down. This restaurant is a nice addition to my neighborhood and I look forward to going again soon.“

I came to this Taste the Top like a Yelp Elite event today thanks to Sarah and her team. Located in Wayne off of Valley Road, Jackie Small is a bright, comfortable, and cozy eatery with 13 two-seater tables open during breakfast and lunch. There was no wait upon entering and being greeted by the staff, Hector. Their menu, inspired by traditional Middle Eastern recipes, is vast, featuring their popular shawarma grain bowl, Greek salad, as well as French toast, avocado toast, grilled cheese, blueberry pancakes, veggie bowls, BLT's, etc. It's first come, first served, as one orders at the counter, has a seat, and they'll deliver your food to your table. I decided on Smalls Scramble consisting of 3 eggs soft-scrambled, Gruyere cheese, roasted tomatoes, truffle home fries, and multi-grain toast. To wash it down, I went for the Mango Supreme smoothie (mango nectar, strawberry, banana, honey, and pineapple). The food was perfect—great portions and very good quality. The smoothie was delicious and refreshing. This place checked all the boxes, which I can recommend.“

“Comfortable, casual, but classy atmosphere. The service was very friendly and happy to explain any dishes that we weren't familiar with. The food was amazing! I wish I took more photos. We started with the babaganoush and tablouli salad. My husband had the lamb kebab and I had the chicken kofte. Everything was so flavorful and tender. I have no idea how to spell the dessert we shared, but it was like a non-crunchy creme brulee. SO GOOD, light and refreshing. Highly recommend this place.“

We also got hummus, shepherd salad, and fries as starters to share, which were great. For entrees, I got the chicken sis with rice and the chicken was tender. “I am glad I saw their delivery van when I was driving by. I did a Uturn and hoped I stumbled on a yummy bakery. This place is gem. Small space for dining in so I decided to order a cappuccino and almond croissant to go and drive to a nearby park. I also got a container of their poppyseed hamantaschen cookies. Everything was top notch and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. First authentic croissant I have had in recent memory. I really appreciate that the baked goods were flavorful and not sugary. “So I have been here twice in one week. I'm mad at myself for never finding this gem sooner. I guess the sign isn't vibrant enough, which me and Ali (one of the employees or even manager not sure) talked about. The sign is apparently orange but comes off as brown lol anyway I found the chicken and beef/lamb gyros excellent. Both seasoned well together with the fresh veggies that go in it. What really tops everything off are them fries! It's legit crack lol it reminded me of my highschool fries (Parsippany High). They made bangin' fries back then. Nice crisp to their fries. I was fortunate enough to even try their Police Milkshake and some baklava which is a sweet dessert! Both great stuff. I like how they use almond milk for their shakes as I am lactose intolerant haha I apologize for not having any photos because I'm super hungry every time and I just wanna eat. “FINALY after Covid we took some friends to our favored middle eastern restaurant this past Saturday . As usual we were greeted by our first names as we had not been there for three years! we had the combo maza which was great. The muhammara was just right. Our friends had the lamb shish kebab and the shawarma combo. Both plates were huge with two skewers of meet in each! According to them it was the best they ever had. For a change I had the kibbeh in a tray meal with yogurt which brought back memories of childhood when my mother made it. I can't say enough about the quality of the food.
