I ordered the tacos and rice and beans, I thought the food was just OK. I'm not sure what all the hype is about.

The kid was craving Mexican food so we searched Yelp and found that this place has good reviews. The photos of the food looked good. We decided to try it. There is no parking lot for this place. There is a Municipal parking lot about one block over behind the post office. We lucked out as there was street parking directly in front of the restaurant. We ordered agua de Jamaica. Huge glass for $4.95. I would guess that it's 16-20 ounces. Gigantic. Well priced. We ordered guacamole which was good too. They didn't give us any salsa for the table like they do at other Mexican joints. For our mains, we ordered their mixed fajitas with shrimp chicken and beef. It was about $21 and it was a huge dish. It's not the usually fajitas that I've had at other places. Theirs comes in a delicious sauce which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a generous portion and the flavors were on point. We recommend it. Our other dish was the El Rinconcito which came with grilled items: pork cutlets, beef, chicken, shrimps cactus, Spanish cheese rice and beans. It was an alright eight. We prefer the saucy fajita dish more. We def plan to go back. Next time, we are going to order their molcajete which is listed at $34.95 so I assume it'll be a huge dish for two based on the price. From the owners description, it Comes with all kinds of meats steak chicken shrimp pork sausage. I'm trying my best not to go back two days in a row but I may swing by for Lunch later. Good is good as is service. Good came out quick and she asked a few times whether we needed anything else. I believe they give some sort of cash discount or charge to use credit card because she asked how I was paying. They add an auto tip of 15% which I didn't mind. Gave her a few bucks more. All in all, it was a good meal. Appears to be a small mom and pop store and I'm happy to support local small business. It helps that the food is delicious too.

Hmm, I ordered breakfast, but they have zero juices. I thought I would get some soft scrambled eggs, con queso, and a slice of ham. It was chunks of ham in ok eggs. I live locally and only went in because of the beautiful artwork on the windows. Probably won't come back, but now I know what to expect.

I'm local so it's one of my favorites when looking for home cooked Mexican. Always hits the spot!

Tacos here are the best in the area! They never disappoint and I’m always full with the 3 tacos that come in a plate! My favorite ones are the pastor tacos but the shrimp ones are really good too! The 3 leches cake and their aguas frescas are recommended too if you have a sweet tooth like me!

I had lunch there today. The portion was very small. I had the chicken burrito, but it was mostly rice in a wrap. Hardly any chicken at all. The side salad was tiny. Shredded iceberg lettuce with one slice of cucumber and one slice of radish and a lime wedge. The size of my palm. Both the burrito and the salad lacked major flavor. And I could have eaten two of those dishes. I left hungry. For $18 I expected more. The Goya hot sauce was decent. This place used to be great and my go to for Mexican food. Not anymore after today.

The Mexican food here is mediocre at best. Mexitacos which is a few minutes away is far better. We had the chicken chimichanga, chicken enchiladas, and the steak sopas here. The chicken chimichanga was just ok, and it needed more Mexican flavor. The chipotle sauce on top had zero flavor. The chicken enchiladas were loosely wrapped and weren't that great. The green sauce on top was good, but it needed more on top. The rice and beans weren't good at all. The steak sopas were mediocre. They would of been better if they were topped with salsa and refried beans on tops. That's how they are properly made at most authentic Mexican restaurants. The sopas lacked any flavor. The people were very nice here, but there are far better Mexican restaurants.

I felt like Mexican food today and as I was heading over to the Matawan Library, I stopped at this little place on Main Street. I had never been there before but I thought I would try the chicken quesadilla. The waitress asked if I wanted chips and I said yes with mild sauce. Well, the sauce was very spicy but I only used a little so it was fine. The quesadilla was okay but rather greasy and I had to use the salsa to give it some flavor. The bill was $13.31 and she had actually added in a 15% tip and noted that there were four guests (?). I asked her if she always added in tbe tip and ahe said yes. I gave her a $20 bill and when I got my change back from her, she'd shorted me a dollar and a half. I asked for the rest if my money and told her as I walked out that I wouldn't be back again!
