“With an ever-changing menu, I know that no matter what vegan dish I order from Primary it’s always going to be exciting and delicious. Many of the dishes have kept me up at night from the french toast to the cheesesteak and the jackfruit medianoche.Chef Mark has always been hospitable and attentive, and you can tell how much passion he has for his plates and his community. This restaurant is truly a gem in Philly and the team behind its magic deserve all the success. If you’re looking for a place to try, you cannot go wrong by visiting Primary.“
“Went here with friends and had a great time. Loved the Korean gochujang wings. They were so crispy and the texture was great; not to mention the sauce is addictive. I got the smash burger and added long hots—it was delicious! Their fries are also super crispy. The cocktails were also very good. I can’t wait to come back.Vegetarian options: The menu is all vegan. So happy to have a place with so many options. We also met some non-vegans there who were also trying them for the first time and they loved it.“
“Excellent. Great flavors, lovely presentation. Especially enjoyed the Tortelloni, Parsnip and Smoked potato plates. Good balance of textures and flavors.Fantastic service. Very pleasant and attentive staff.Well done??HIGHLY recommended ??????????Vegetarian options: VeganParking: Recommend parking on Fairmont Ave. 2 hours, no meters“
“This is a spot for cool people, you will know when you walk in- that’s the vibe. I’m not that cool though and I felt welcomed (that’s usually how cool people make you feel). Anyways, the pickletini is dangerous, my friend had like 7 one time. I like this place!“
“This place offers some of the most delicious and incredible vegan/vegetarian items ever!! Jeff, the owner/chef, is super creative and talented! I had the yuba hoagie, which was so divine that I finished the whole thing! If you love garlic, the toum dipping sauce that comes with the za'atar fries is unreal! I also had the cauliflower salad with the tahini dressing. The combo was unmatched! Oh, another one of my favorites is the patty melt!! Andy makes them like no other!Go try them out before they close! But hopefully enough people go so they don't close!!!“
“The menu was so varied--so many choices of vegan food (not just the fake meat variety). We enjoyed the brussels sprouts, beet salad, focaccia, flatbread--all outstanding. We didn't care so much for one pasta dish with sweet potato--pasta a bit dry and chewy and seasoning a bit bland. It was a Saturday evening so quite full and service was uneven probably because of that. The background music was quite loud, particularly the bass line. I could hear to talk but I found the music distracting me from enjoying the food. But I think younger people have a different relationship to monotonous base lines and find it makes the place lively. I was delighted to find another vegan restaurant, just disappointed that the ambience wasn't good for me.“
“I chose the vedge experience to try 3 dishes and desert for $65/person. All the plates were not only uniquely thought through and delicious, but also presented like works of art. I really enjoyed the creative balance of flavors they used from only plant sources that even mimicked non-vegetarian dishes I've had before. Menu rotates seasonal so I will be returning soon and is well accomodating for gluten free patrons. An experience well worth trying“
“Delicious falafel! I got a sandwich with fries in it and really enjoyed it. The picture when ordering online made it seem like it was on the smaller side and I can assure you it was not! It really filled me up for lunch. Would definitely recommend for a fairly quick bite!“
“Blackened Cauliflower sandwich 10/10Vanilla oatmeal 10/10Zucchini fritters 9/10Blueberry iced 10/10Everything is beyond delicious. I keep trying different things when I go but I always make sure to get the blackened cauliflower sandwich.. it’s so darn good.“
“I’ve gone in twice for birthday cakes. I’m horribly last-minute, but luckily they always have already-made birthday cakes for sale which are DELICIOUS. They’re super flavorful without being too much, and they’re beautiful to look at. Plus they can write a message on the cake very quickly. I’m a fan!“
“Years ago, my family would frequent The Tasty and always had a great experience. As time progressed, my family changed, and I wasn't sure if I could walk through the door without memories and emotions flooding me. Well, the magic of The Tasty guided me through to make this experience as wonderful as those from the past. Thank you for providing exceptional food, amazing service, and an awesome atmosphere. Until we meet again...“
“Always wanted to try this place and didn’t realize I was walking right past it yesterday.Amazing! The banana mixture is super smooth, the guy was so nice and friendly, and it’s a mom and pop small business- support them for sure!!!Really cool selection of choices that are not the usual run of the mill. Will be back and you should try this place for sure!“
“This is our favorite restaurant in the city, possibly in the world. No matter what your diet is, you will be amazed by the delicious and creative plant-based offerings. Rachel's immense talent in the kitchen is surpassed only by her warmth and generosity as a host, and the service of her staff is equally exceptional. If you ever have a chance to experience a meal at Miss Rachel's Pantry, I will personally guarantee your complete satisfaction!Bon appetite!Vegetarian options: vegan everything“
“My fiancé and I came here to eat and I must say that the aesthetics here are so cute! The staff are friendly and their food is delicious! For apps: I recommend trying the steamed pork gyoza and Italian egg roll. For tacos: I recommend the tofu taco. It’s very crispy and moist. The ramen is good as well. For drinks I recommend the jasmine lemon green tea. We definitely would come back! :)“
“The outdoor seating area in the rear of the restaurant gives you the feel of hanging out in someone's personal garden hideaway.Parking: The restaurant is located in a very busy section of the city, very close to both I-95 and 76 highway systems.“
“I've been trying to eat more plant-based for health reasons. I go in skeptical eating anything plant-based/vegan at most places. This place did not disappoint. I've had the breakfast pita and the veggie burger wrap - both surprisingly good. Just wish it was a little closer to my house. If it were, I'd definitely eat here more.“
“20th Street carries the torch for Philly vegan pizzerias, following in the tradition of Gianna’s & Blackbird of yesteryear - except 20th Street does it best. Even writing this review & considering the Haymaker or Pepperoni slices, my mouth waters & belly growls! HahaThis is sourdough artisanal vegan pizza at its best, try any selection from the pies at the counter, you will not be disappointed!Vegetarian options: Vegan menu - plant based restaurant“
“Got to the restaurant at 6th and Bainbridge for the first time, since having a fantastic experience at the food truck. The restaurant was incredible! Food was absolutely delicious. Location and vibe were great. And service was outstanding. Hope to see Algorithm continue to thrive!“
“Incredible vegan deli in the Reading Terminal Market! I was recently visiting Philadelphia and found this sweet gem on the Happy Cow app. I ended up ordering two different days during my visit and both times the service was quick and the sandwiches were delicious!!“
“So happy this place opened up! The food is amazing, and I'm not vegan. I recommend pretty much everything, but their soups are most excellent. As is the garbanzo burger with vegan cheese! But turn up the heat, PLEASE! It's way too cold there to eat comfortably for lunch. We ate and left fast. Y'all need to come a bit early and warm it up!“
“Must have walked past this little cafe a dozen times going to the big corner cafe - never again! The vibe and service at Gleaners is disarmingly pleasant and the coffee was just damn good! The restaurant guys say this is the best coffee shop in the hood, they are correct“
“Delicious, ? ? spicy, savory. Vegan or not the food is wowzers! This time we got jerk chicken platter and BBQ chicken platter with sides of sweet potato, plantains, collard greens and cabbage. My husband asked more than once is this "chicken?" Soooo good.“
“This is some of the best pad see ew I've had in a long time. The waiting staff was friendly and checked in on us enough to make sure we had what we needed, but not so much that they distracted from our conversation. I'll definitely be back!“
“I've had two different meals here so far, and both were very good. I guess my only semi-gripe would be wanting more sauce. The staff that was present at both visits have been amazing, as well. Vegan and gluten-free, friendly to the max.Vegetarian options: Vegan kitchen with no meat or animal products used.Dietary restrictions: Everything is clearly labeled, and substitutions are available in any item.Parking: Both times I went, there was plenty of available parking close by the entrances.“
“Just ate here for the 1st time. Plentiful & tasty food. Staff was professional, customer friendly, & efficient. We were 15 people & all food was prepared fresh & quickly. We all tried a little of everything. I loved the tahini shake & the falafel was perfect (crisp on outside & soft on the inside). Check out their website...“
“My mother and I visited this cute spot for our morning warm hugs in a cup. I ordered the Chai latte with almond milk in the ginger flavor and it twas DELIGHTFUL. The service from the staff was swift and sweet.I also noticed some vegan goodies on the menu I may have to try while I am in town ?“
“Loved the Pumpkin Chai donut! It's the perfect fall treat without being too oily or sweet. I was surprised by the texture, as it was super soft almost like a milk bread loaf. The Boston Cream donut was also a pleasant surprise - I anticipated the cream to be really sweet, but it was actually the perfect level of sweetness that complemented the chocolate frosting.“
“I have eaten and had takeout from this spot a few times over the last two years . The food is always fresh and taste delicious as it is made to order. If you have a time limit place your order ahead of your arrival as it will take some time to prepare your meal and some dishes take a little longer than others to make .Overall the ambience, food and drinks are great.I will definitely continue coming here when I need a good healthy meal for my family.“
“What happens when a super awesome food truck becomes a restaurant? You get creative food, fast service, and a vibe like a familiar hangout from your youth. We got a world tour of tacos and Vietnamese ice coffee, and something from the special board too- way too much food but couldn't resist- had to pack it in and roll out of there. Want to come back soon to try more- everything sounded so good!!!“
“This is a great OG vegan spot in Philly & love coming here. Tons of coffee selections and specials! They have a cold case with a large choice of vegan desserts! They have sitting in the back of the house--some seats and a large book shelf. We love that you can pre order before arriving & it’s ready when you get there. Their breakfast sandwiches are out of this world. This is a hip little vegan cafe. Worth a visit. They have a yummy list to choose from!“
“Nestled in the vibrant streets of Philadelphia, Charlie Was A Sinner. is a haven for those seeking a culinary experience that transcends expectations. With its inviting ambiance and innovative plant-based cuisine, this restaurant captivates the senses and leaves a lasting impression.Let's dive into the star of the show: the food. Each dish at Charlie Was A Sinner. is a work of art, meticulously crafted to delight even the most discerning palate. From the first bite to the last, every flavor sings in perfect harmony, showcasing the creativity and skill of the culinary team. However, I must address a notable aspect of our dining experience—the service. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, there were some shortcomings that impacted the overall enjoyment of our meal. In particular, our server seemed lacking in knowledge of the menu, unable to provide accurate information about certain dishes' ingredients. This became especially problematic when attempting to accommodate dietary restrictions at our table. Rather than consulting the chef or kitchen staff for clarification, our server seemed uncertain and unable to provide the necessary assistance.Despite this hiccup, I must commend the kitchen for their flexibility and willingness to accommodate our dietary needs once the issue was brought to their attention. Their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience did not go unnoticed and ultimately salvaged what could have been a disappointing situation. In conclusion, while Charlie Was A Sinner. excels in its culinary offerings, there is room for improvement in the realm of service, particularly in staff knowledge and communication. Nonetheless, I remain impressed by the restaurant's commitment to delivering exceptional plant-based cuisine and look forward to returning for another memorable dining experience.“
“Cozy little cafe on Passyunk Ave. We stopped in to get out of the rain on a Saturday afternoon. The sandwiches we had were excellent! I particularly enjoyed the cucumber and goat cheese sandwich. The lattes were decent. The service was attentive as well. We would return.“
“Amazing!!! BEST create your own pizza place I've been to. The pizza is more of a flatbread so it's a preset large serving. I got the Buffalo chicken pizza. The flavor, cheese pull, spice, all of it was perfect. I was happy it was big enough to have some now and later. I will be back! Highly recommend. MOD who???“
“I couldn't wait to dig in and it was not a disappointment. I couldnt even speak words after the first few bites. "Mmmmmm mmmm mmm!! ??☺️" is all i could say. The food is extremely delicious and flavorful. I'll have to try their other vegan dishes! I had the Vegan Fried Chicken with plantains and Vegan Sweet Chilli Wings with veggies.“
