Saddest excuse for mexican food I have had in NJ. The Oxaca platter came with overcooked, gummy rice and the food was room temp. Enchilada filling had no flavor. I am not sure how a cuisine known for flavor missed the mark so badly.Don't waste your

By far the worst tacos I’ve had in my entire life . Far from fresh . I always like to sit looking at the kitchen and not once I saw neither the steak or chicken go on the grill . Food tasted old , preheated , and no flavor at all . The cheese for the chips was preheated as well once it cooled down it turned solid I’ve never experienced that with dipping cheese …. We got 8 tacos 2 cokes and chips and cheese $50 ….. not worth trying don’t waste your time or money !!!

I called on the phone and they were really rude and disturbing, she sounded like she was munching on some food while on a call with me the static was so bad, it sounded like she was in the bathroom.

Charge extra for credit card. Food and service was just ok, nothing special. Had chicken tacos and chicken was very bland.

Tried takeout a few times and I think I'm done trying. Got 3 tacos, chicken, steak, and carnitas. Steak tasted like $3 dollar steak from ShopRite you need to chew for 10 minutes, chicken was dry with zero flavor, carnitas was just overcooked pulled pork again with no flavor or seasoning. I've had better carnitas and Chipotle. I will say though the service and atmosphere are great. Just the food isn't worth it.

TL:DR - Folks were wonderful, food was pretty good.Been meaning to check this place out for a while, now, and finally got the chance to go for lunch. I parked in one of the free lots off the side street and walked the short distance to the restaurant because I don't like street parking. Inside, the décor was colorful, and the staff were really welcoming. Since I was getting take-out, they gave me a menu, and invited me to take a seat while I decided. Then I ordered at the back counter. The selection of burritos was very limited - and all of them came "wet" style - meaning covered in some kind of sauce. This is not my favorite way to enjoy a burrito; I like to be able to pick them up to eat them. I ordered the Burrito Especial, and as the desserts were not listed on the menu, I had to ask if they had Tres Leches Cake (which they did). My order was finished pretty quickly, and soon I was back out the door. The Burrito Especial was drenched in the chipotle mayo sauce. The sauce was tasty, but again, I prefer my sauces on the inside. When I had asked if they could put all the sauces on the inside, they told me, "We don't do that. It comes on the outside." Speaking of the inside, there was a generous amount of meat (pork) that was tender, but not very flavorful. Just enough rice, too, but I literally had to open my burrito to check and see if there were any beans in there, because I couldn't find any. It was really light on the beans, which is confusing, as they are cheap, and an essential ingredient to a burrito. Average balance of tomatoes and lettuce. It was overall an average burrito. The Tres Leches Cake was a wonderful balance of sweet cake, and leches sauce at the bottom. It was the highlight of my lunch. They did not supply utensils, but luckily I had predicted that, and borrowed some beforehand. The burrito did not come with chips, though it did come with three pots of different sauces (guacamole, verde, and red salsa). I did not use the green pots, but the red salsa was fresh and tasty. Since I had no chips, I added it to the already soaked burrito. It was an average experience. Mildly disappointed in the burrito, but the rest of the menu items looked pretty fancy. If I go back, I'll try something else there, but not another wet burrito.Parking: There is street parking usually available. If you don't find a spot (or don't like parallel parking), there are two free public parking lots close by.

The food is awesome and the service is great as well. I had Stephanie as a server she was very helpful, polite, and extremely professional. I would recommend Mi rancho Mexican grill to anyone and everyone that loves Mexican food or just an all around quality dining experience

Getting great vegetarian at places is always tricky. The place is nice and people too. We ordered all vegetarian. While we have had better tastes at some other places, can’t complaint much.Interior is really beautiful and gives typical Mexican vibes!Do visit this place at a beautiful street.

Can’t rate my experience because my husband, toddler, and I were not approached for drink orders after 15 minutes. Two tables who were seated after us had their drink orders taken AND brought to their table. We should’ve known when we were seated in the back corner of an empty restaurant. Interesting… Happy Cinco de Mayo!Vegetarian options: Can’t say because we were never waited on (after 15 minutes of waiting…)Kid-friendliness: Not for our child, but other children were OKParking: Not great. StreetDietary restrictions: Can’t say because we were never waited on (after 15 minutes of waiting…)

We had lunch and it was very good! The guac was fresh and tasty as well as the chips that came with it. The tacos were great and the fajitas came out sizzling and delicious! Well worth the $ - and really not bad $ - because I could not eat it all - brought home a good amount of food. I'll be back without a doubt! Nice time I'll bring cervesas

Rice and enchiladas were undercooked. Rice chewy, chicken meat low end. Wrapping not cooked and smothered in sour cream and cheese. I eat a lot of Mexican food and this was by far the worst. And charged $18 for my enchiladas. Try Don Jose in East Hanover or Chilli Willies in Boonton. By far much better.

My last 2 meals have not been good. First of all, this is THE ONLY MEXICAN RESTAURANT that doesn't give diners chips and salsa before ordering. I know that's more authentic, but this is Newton, NJ. The portions continue to shrink. My tacos were mostly filled with lettuce. The beef has zero seasoning which is probably preferred by some people, but when I asked for salsa AND hot sauce to give it some flavor, all I got was a tiny bowl of something that made me sick. Servers are very slow and seem to notice that customers aren't happy, but don't try to do anything to help.
