“I wasn't going to share this place with anyone because I don't want it to get crowded but I have to bc I love it so much. Presenting my new watering hole in Bergen! The location is where the old 21 used to be, on the top floor of the Son Jjajang building. Great happy hour everyday 4-8!! It's a steal considering how good the food is. Happy hour all types of soju are $8.99 and beers are cheap too. All the big dishes on the happy hour menu are between $14-$18 and I think the portion sizes are the same! I have yet to try something that I don't love on the menu. Their: Cheese buldak (fire chicken w/ mozzarella cheese.. ask for medium spicy if you can't do heat!) Jogae sujebi (Korean version of.. gnocchi? in clam broth..I always order another side of sujebi) Donkatsu (breaded & fried pork cutlet) Tofu & kimchi Ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes... I usually ask for cheese on this also lol) Tong dak (whole fried chicken) Gaeran mari (Korean cheese omlette w/ fried garlic on top) Budae jjigae (Korean army soup, goes great with soju!) and weirdly enough their giant plate of FRIES (idk what they do to those fries they're just fries but they're so good lol) are among some of my favorites. However, the food tends to be on the spicier side which isn't an issue for me, but if you can't handle too much spice be sure to tell your waiter. I can't say enough about how good the food is. The chef apparently refuses to use anything but the best ingredients and it shows in the taste of the food. Portions are big too! Obviously I eat here a lot... lol Oh and the servers and manager are all so nice!! One time we had a big party of 10 but they didn't have space so they put us in their only karaoke room in the back. We wanted to watch the US Open but we couldn't figure out the TV in the room so the manager found an HDMI cable and hooked his own cellphone up to it so we could watch. How sweet?!! At the moment they only serve soju and beer but I have been told that they will start offering liquor soon :) Like I said, I don't want this place to get crowded but they deserve the business with food and service like this. I hope they stick around and become a new staple in Pal Park! PS. The menu is entirely in Korean so bring a friend who is fluent or ask the waiters for suggestions! I will definitely have to mention to them that they should make an English version of their menu. Will be back with pictures later!”
“The malatang here is really good, and the service is great. There are a lot of options to choose from, so it’s easy to customize your bowl. They offer free froyo if you pay cash, and they also include a Yakult regardless of payment method, which is a nice touch. Definitely a place I’d recommend!”
“I recently visited Donghae. and it was an amazing experience. The seafood is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the dishes are beautifully presented. The staff are very friendly and attentive, making the whole meal enjoyable. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, perfect for a casual dinner or a special occasion. I’ll definitely be coming back. highly recommend Donghae Susan if you love fresh seafood!”
“I wish I had visited this place sooner.
Bomdama Shabu Shabu offers fresh vegetables, a variety of flavorful broths, a customizable sauce bar, and delicious, fresh sushi — all in one place.
Since each person gets their own pot, it’s perfect for dining with friends or a group.
The restaurant is clean, and the green-themed interior creates such a pleasant atmosphere. As someone who absolutely loves shabu-shabu and hot pot, I’m so happy to have discovered Bomdama.
If you live near Palisades park, I highly recommend coming here with friends!”

“By far my fave kbbq spot. The meats are high quality and the servers are always very friendly. Their marinated short ribs and house special spicy pork are my absolute faves. Love how the charcoal flavor gets into the meat. Their mool nengmyun (buckwheat noodles in a cold broth) compliments their bbq meats really well, and their broth is the real deal. The Korean-style beef tartare (over seasoned sushi rice) is phenomenal and my must-eat every time I go.”
“The food is incredibly authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Every dish we tried was well-seasoned and comforting, from the rich, savory stews to the perfectly grilled meats.”
“Probably one of the most underrated “hole in the wall” spots I’ve been to. Korean couple that owns it is extremely nice and cares about the quality and effort they put into their food. Ordered 4 special rolls and portions were much bigger than you’d expect. Salmon, eel, and tuna were very fresh”

“Looked for a nice breakfast spot near the area and stumbled upon this amazing spot. They had so many unique items and variety of breakfast/lunch items as well. Ended up ordering a lox bagel and peanut butter jelly turkey bacon bagel with a biscoff latte and Oreo latte. The service was amazing, the food came out quick and the people were so nice they really provided a good experience.”

“The request was find the best pizza near our hotel. After comparing some reviews we headed to Urban Tomato. It’s in a neighborhood setting across from a church. The restaurant decor is simple but comfortable with a great hosts. We never felt cramped. The boys enjoyed a chicken pizza half garlic and half bbq drizzle and my wife and I enjoyed a fungi white pizza that was out of this world. I continue to say this, if g-d had given Jersey the water, their pizza would be king.”

“I went there by myself and order the grilled mackerel and seafood tofu soup combo. Everything tasted great. The seafood tofu soup was flavorful and not too spicy. I love the side dishes too. I wish I had a bigger stomach to finish everything. I saw other tables doing KBBQ, the meats seemed to be of high quality and offers table side service. The service staff were very attentive.”

“Best skewer bbq ever! Have been coming here since they opened 4 years ago. And realized I haven’t left a review yet… Anyways, love the lamb skewers so so much!”
“This was our first time trying these dishes, and they were absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The service was excellent. Extremely attentive, friendly, and professional from start to finish!!! The location is great as well, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place!”

“This is one outstanding Korean BBQ place where they have the coal fired tables and enough ventilation that you don’t smell like charcoal, but the pan-char dishes too begin with are amazing and kept coming, good service followed by attentive waitresses that explained which meats to order and what side dishes that would accompany them made us feel that were we in Seoul again.
Wow we really enjoyed the kabli BBQ and the scallion pancake and the kimchi Jigee, the Pork Belly was very good and the steamed egg appetizer that was complimentary was amazing, the friends tried 4 types of meats and 3 sides a great selection and we will be back with more friends, also delivers and there parking behind the restaurant.”
“Excellent Northeastern Chinese skewers spot. It’s BYOB and there’s a liquor store across the street as well as a couple blocks away. The skewers are already pre-cooked when you get them, so you just need to cook them for a minute or two longer to heat them up and get a bit of char. The egg fried rice was really solid. The cold dishes were also good—flavors and textures were spot on. The plates for the cold dishes were pretty large and felt like they were sized for 4 people or more to split. Ended up spending around $70pp.”
“The soy fried chicken and sweet/spicy chicken is so good! We got the regular tteokbokki and I like it better than a lot of the bunsik places on Broad Avenue! The service was a little off tbh, but the vibes and food were great! The liquor store is connected so you can buy your alcohol from the liquor store, no extra charge.”

“Yook92 in Palisades Park is a standout Korean BBQ spot that I’m eager to return to. I visited at 425 Grand Ave, and the clean, welcoming environment set the perfect tone for a delicious meal. I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Chicken, and it was amazing—authentic, fresh, and perfectly cooked with a balanced kiss of heat and sweetness that reminded me of home-cooked Korean flavors. The chicken was incredibly juicy and tender, and every bite carried vibrant seasoning. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout, making me feel appreciated and well taken care of without being intrusive. The overall vibe was warm and inviting, and the attention to cleanliness was evident in every corner of the dining area. Given the quality of the food, the freshness, the excellent service, and the spotless setting, I would confidently give Yook92 five stars and highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Korean BBQ. If you’re in the area and love spicy-sweet poultry, this place is a must-visit. Would absolutely visit again to explore more menu options and relive that same comforting, homey experience.”
“Excellent food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ordered the Vegtable beef stew and Spicy squid hot pot. Everything was fresh and served quickly. Came three times in 2 weeks thats how much i loved this place. The owner is very kind and friendly as well. Also BYOB, which is a plus!”
“I really love Dakgalbi, and this is one of the restaurants I went to in NJ. I would say that they do get really busy and it’s worth the wait. I usually spend over an hour here on each visit due to the wait times the food. But they give a lot of complementary dishes like corn and cheese, steamed egg, and a salad if you go during lunch times. I went during dinner and didn’t ge the salad. I love getting the cheese Dakgalbi with rice cake, minari, and sweet potato fries. I love how they give ricr after or have fried rice after. In the photos it was for three people. Would definitely come back because the Dakgalbi is so good!”
“Appreciation post😃 Since 4 days my freshly turned teenage daughter has been saying one thing when I ask her what you want to do on New Year’s Eve …” I want to have kudos bubble tea as the last thing I drink in 2022”. It’s been a tough few months for her and i wanted to make sure she gets her wish. So yesterday morning I called kudos. Asked when they will close for the day. They said 10pm. We scheduled all our plans in such a way that at 9pm we go and get the much anticipated bubble tea. At 9 my husband, son and daughter headed out to kudos… only to find that they have closed at 7 for a private event. This is my back story. On the other side of the story… which probably has its own back story… Cherie the owner had shut the bakery as her daughter wanted to celebrate with her friends and family. As a mother myself I can totally understand that. When she saw my family she informed them that they are closed. But when she heard we had called in morning and saw my daughters dejected face… she opened her doors. Made a quick bubble tea and even gave some extra cookies as a New Years treat. My kids came back so happy saying “mommy it was a holiday miracle!” Thank you Kudo Society Cafe. For providing us one last 2022 miracle. Thank you Cherie for understanding. We have been Kudos patrons since it was at palisades park but now we are die hard advocating neighbors of yours. Ps: pic of the cookie treat. My son ate the red velvet on way home.”
“New owner!
Very nice atmosphere, super comfortable. The food is delicious and menu is affordable for the quality of the food you are getting. My husband and I had the Agedashi Tofu, Pork Sirloin Katsu, Tuna Kimbap, and Potato Croquette. For dessert we had the Mango Bingsoo.
The bingsoo is probably the best in the area! Full of delicious mango, and syrup. It’s very tall too, so it’s a good deal.
The owner is very nice. Always provided a quick hot water refill.
It’s really very comfortable here. I could see myself sitting here for a while to just decompress. Will come back!”
“I ordered takeout and was honestly impressed. The sushi was fresh, beautifully prepared, and packaged very carefully. Even for to-go, the quality was excellent and everything tasted clean and well-balanced. The fish was fresh and the rice texture was perfect. I’ll definitely be ordering again! 👍👍”

“I absolutely loved the food here. it truly captures the cozy and rich flavors of authentic Korean home cooking. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the restaurant has such a comfortable, homelike vibe. I tried the soups, and every single one was delicious. If you enjoy a good mix of tender meat and fresh veggies, the stir-fried pork is a must-try. I’ve also heard their raw crab is famous among Korean diners, and I can see why! Everything here feels fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Highly recommended!”
“I’ve tried several soy-marinated crab spots in New York, and this one really stood out. The crab wasn’t overly salty at all, and the seasoning was perfectly balanced and very well done.
The sumac duck broth was on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it, especially in winter. I had been outside all day, and after one bowl of soup I instantly warmed up so much that I started taking layers off. The abalone porridge was also comforting and flavorful. And honestly, one of the best surprises was the free pancake SOOO GOOD.
We really appreciate that the front desk still allowed us to dine even though we arrived just one hour before closing. We ate quickly and even ended up finishing some of the food in the car on the way home 😆
Before coming, I was debating between several restaurants since we live on Long Island and don’t get to Fort Lee very often. I’m happy to say I have no regrets choosing this place.
Huge thanks to the Mexican girls who served us, everyone was super friendly and welcoming.”
“This is our usual fried chicken spot and it stays consistent every single time. We normally do takeout, but today we dined in and the experience was actually really pleasant — calm, clean, and easy.
The food was amazing. The chicken was perfectly crunchy (the kind that actually stays crunchy), and the flavors were on point. The sweet and spicy sauce was delish — just the right balance — and the soy garlic was packed with flavor without being overpowering. The radish was fresh and refreshing, and the shrimp tempura was also really good — light, crispy, and not greasy.
Whether you’re grabbing takeout or sitting down, this place knows what it’s doing. Reliable, flavorful, and always satisfying. We’ll definitely keep coming back.”
“This is a small catering business/food spot that only local koreans know about. There is no seating, so you come here to buy your food and bring it home.
They are known to have the best flavors in town. They have authentic Korean soups, meat dishes, side dishes, and more. A must try for anyone looking to bring food home to eat.
Hands down the best 잔치집 in NJ!”
“Press sandwich chain from South Korea. I have been a customer since they open many years ago. They have both sweet and savory options, their bulgogi beef and spicy chicken are my favorite. The staff has changed over the years but they have always been very friendly and service is always pretty fast. A lot of also people come here for their sweetened ice coffee, which I find to be a treat. They also offer bakery items as well as premade cold-cut sandwiches and gimbab (Korean rice roll). I recently notice them having Portuguese-style egg tarts too. It's located in the hart of downtown Palisades Park. Street parking only and sometimes it's hard to come by.”
“Tried Totowah Plus for the first time because of their all you can eat promotion and was really impressed. The price was reasonable and the food was very good. Even the non all you can eat menu items are well put together. The restaurant is clean and the staff are super friendly and attentive. I personally value good service a lot no matter how good the food is, and this place definitely gets it right. I would come back again even without a promotion. ❤️”

“맛있어요 그런데 국물요리맛에 기복이 있어요. 보통 식당에서 팔지않는 별미들이 많아서 좋아요. 더욱더 새로운 요리들을 개발해주셨으면해요.”

“Visit the bakery yesterday, and it was worth every dollar I spend. The Pecan cream ring tasted just how I remembered when I was a kid. I also bought one double chocolate cookie, which was amazing!! I wish I bough more. The staff was super nice and helpful. I grew up in pal park, and the bakery was always the go to spot for our desserts. Keep it going and no slacking on the deliciousness. Going back today for more cookies😁”
“This place serves some of the best jajangmyeon I’ve ever had. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the black bean sauce was rich, savory, and full of deep flavor without being too heavy. You can really tell the ingredients are fresh and well balanced. Portions were generous, and the service was fast and friendly. Highly recommended if you’re craving authentic and delicious Korean-Chinese food!”
“Best food I’ve ever had I think they have the best food in the area and I’ve tried most pizzerias in pal park and fort Lee area there pizza is excellent there pasta and chicken parm is one of the best I’ve ever had there sauce tastes amazing and you can tell it’s homemade keep up the good work guys It’s my go to place now I order 3 times a week for my office”
“To Sok Chon is a reliable spot for traditional Korean comfort food. The dishes are classic and well balanced, with familiar flavors that feel homemade rather than overly commercial. Soups and stews come out hot and satisfying, especially on a cold day, and the side dishes are fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, making it a comfortable place for a simple meal without any fuss. Service is straightforward and efficient, nothing flashy, but everything you need is taken care of.
Overall, a solid choice in Palisades Park if you’re looking for authentic Korean food at a reasonable price.”
“Cafe Lala is a must-visit spot, especially in the morning, when they serve their own unique version of Korean gimbap. On top of that, they offer drinks and treats you won’t easily find at other cafés.
Their signature flavored coffees are always excellent, and my personal favorites are the Einspänner, grapefruit slush, and fresh strawberry milk — all absolutely delicious. And whatever you do, don’t skip the cheesecake. It’s a must-try!
At first, the staff’s manner might come across as a little curt, but regulars know the truth: the owner and staff are total tsundere types. They may not show it openly, but they have a subtle, caring way of looking after you — and it’s oddly addictive. I’ve grown to love it so much that I actually look forward to it now.
So don’t misunderstand — give it a few visits. By the third time, you’ll probably find yourself hooked on that unique “tsundere” service too.”
“This is genuinely good Guatemalan food. We had the beef soup and ordered steak also but the portions of meat in the soup was so generous we didn’t even get too the steaks so we took them home. Service was very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was very informal. Some guys were watching soccer on the big screen tv and others were sitting alone, no one bothered anyone. I’m definitely going back for that soup as the winter sets in harder.
Parking: It’s general street parking with meters I believe are only active on weekdays”
“I didn't even know I liked rice cakes until I had the ones at Arirang. Rice cakes are typically dense, chewy blocks that, to me, never seemed worth the blood sugar spike. But my mom and sister have been raving about the rice cakes here for the longest time, and I finally managed to give them a try recently.
In short, they're incredible. I guess that's to be expected from a store that specializes in just one thing, but I immediately noticed a stark difference between these and the ones they sell at Asian supermarkets. Rice cakes (especially ones that have been on the shelves for some time) can be hard and tough, at worst erring toward the experience of chewing gum. Arirang's rice cakes are incredibly soft, both to the touch and in the mouth. Imagine the softest mochi-like texture giving way to a cloud of sweetness (the level of which depends on which kind of rice cake you get).
I'm a new fan of the fruit rice cakes, the likes of which I haven't seen in any other shop. The outside is powdery and tender, with a sweet, fruit filling that I found extremely moreish. My mom ordered a variety pack of red-bean filled rice cakes, which were also excellent.
The variety of rice cakes in this shop are a little overwhelming, but they're reasonably priced (especially for a specialty shop), so if you're fiending for some rice cakes - or are interested in trying them for the first time - I would absolutely recommend stopping by Arirang.
(Note: no seating space inside - takeout only)”
“Lived in lodi for a year, china moon was right around the corner. I really miss this place since moving, they have amazing chinese food that is very affordable and always helped me when i was too tired to cook. Meals always have several portions inside, my favorite was the house special may fun.”
“I catered the food, and they did it really neatly, so we had a great party ♡The food was delicious, haha. Even if I tried to add more, they told me to stop because it was enough...there was a reason hahaha. The portion was really generous~~ I'll order it again next time +_+”
“I come across this place through Yelp and the presentation of the bingsu looks really pretty there. However, it looks like they don't do that pretty presentation anymore. It's kinda expensive but the portion is huge; like this 'small' size can feed 3-4 people. This one has mango, cheesecake bites, mochi, and condensed milk. The cheesecake bites can feel a bit too much after a couple bites.”
“맨날 피자속만 파먹고 끝에 잡고 먹는데는 버리고 그랬는데 고구마 치즈 바이트로 만들어 주시니까 먹고난 찌끄러기도 하나의 요리가 되요.”
“We LOVE Haru Hana - it's our go to for sushi. Their rolls are delicious, and everything comes near and ready to go. Cozy little takeout store , convenient spot, with super nice staff. They're very cool and accommodating and we really enjoy it.”
“사장부터 직원 매우 불친절..자리를 기다리는 사람들에 대한 관리가 전혀 없고 중간 중간 여사장이나 직원이 아는 손님이 오면 중간중간에 슬쩍 끼워 놓음.한시간 이상을 기다리는 손님에 대한 기본 예의 조차 없음..”

“We came when it first opened and wow the quality of the seafood was amazing. The prices was fair as well with a lot of extras that comes with the meal. The staff seemed like they were learning the ropes but new restaurant has its quirks. Definitely give it a try. It is worth it and hopefully it keeps the quality up as time goes by.”
“This is my favorite Hey Yogurt location in the area. The yogurt is always yum. They make the drinks fast and the fruits are always fresh. They give you a LOT of fruit in the drinks as compared to the drinks I've gotten from other Hey Yogurt locations (cough Montclair cough). The staff is very friendly and always greet us when we come in and leave. The space is clean and well lit.
I highly recommend the pineapple, original, and purple rice with low sugar. I really like that this place includes fruit juice in the yogurt drinks. The other Hey Yogurt locations just tend to add a thin layer of fruit and call it a day.
This is a must stop every time we eat in Pal Park.”

“Abiko Curry really surprised me in the best way. Everything came out hot, crispy, and super satisfying, especially the fried items. The Japanese curry is classic and comforting, and it works with pretty much anything on the menu. I love how customizable it is, you can add whatever you want and build your own perfect bowl. I ordered the curry udon with melting cheese and a raw egg yolk, plus fried chicken and shrimp, and it was insanely good. The rose tteokbokki was also a standout, with chewy rice cakes, meaty sausage, and tons of gooey cheese. Big portions, great value, and an easy place to leave full and happy.”
“They have an insanely wide menu—perfect for large groups and if people want different things! The food is super tasty and craveable, I always end up ordering 2 things for myself and taking the rest home. Their dubokki is the best I’ve ever had!”
New Restaurants
“This was our first time trying these dishes, and they were absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The service was excellent. Extremely attentive, friendly, and professional from start to finish!!! The location is great as well, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place!”
“While eating bossam here, I asked to take the leftovers to go. At many places, when you box food after starting a meal, they usually only pack the main dish.
But here, they thoughtfully packed everything that goes with bossam — the garlic, peppers, ssamjang, shrimp paste, and even the kimchi. It may seem like a small detail, but it honestly meant a lot to me.
I know this could be inconvenient for the servers, yet they did it without hesitation. That level of care and consideration truly impressed me. Excellent service and attention to detail — I’ll definitely be coming back.”
“I recently visited Seoul Taco, and it was fantastic. The tacos are packed with flavor and made with fresh ingredients, and the portions are generous. The staff are friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The atmosphere is casual and fun, perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. I’ll definitely be coming back highly recommend Seoul Taco if you’re craving tasty tacos!”
“Plenty of parking, good food, good vibes.”
