“I had a fantastic bagel with lox at this cafe. The lady at the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the cafe itself was spotless, cozy, and inviting. If I ever come back to New Jersey, I’ll definitely stop by for breakfast again!”

“I wasn't going to share this place with anyone because I don't want it to get crowded but I have to bc I love it so much. Presenting my new watering hole in Bergen! The location is where the old 21 used to be, on the top floor of the Son Jjajang building. Great happy hour everyday 4-8!! It's a steal considering how good the food is. Happy hour all types of soju are $8.99 and beers are cheap too. All the big dishes on the happy hour menu are between $14-$18 and I think the portion sizes are the same! I have yet to try something that I don't love on the menu. Their: Cheese buldak (fire chicken w/ mozzarella cheese.. ask for medium spicy if you can't do heat!) Jogae sujebi (Korean version of.. gnocchi? in clam broth..I always order another side of sujebi) Donkatsu (breaded & fried pork cutlet) Tofu & kimchi Ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes... I usually ask for cheese on this also lol) Tong dak (whole fried chicken) Gaeran mari (Korean cheese omlette w/ fried garlic on top) Budae jjigae (Korean army soup, goes great with soju!) and weirdly enough their giant plate of FRIES (idk what they do to those fries they're just fries but they're so good lol) are among some of my favorites. However, the food tends to be on the spicier side which isn't an issue for me, but if you can't handle too much spice be sure to tell your waiter. I can't say enough about how good the food is. The chef apparently refuses to use anything but the best ingredients and it shows in the taste of the food. Portions are big too! Obviously I eat here a lot... lol Oh and the servers and manager are all so nice!! One time we had a big party of 10 but they didn't have space so they put us in their only karaoke room in the back. We wanted to watch the US Open but we couldn't figure out the TV in the room so the manager found an HDMI cable and hooked his own cellphone up to it so we could watch. How sweet?!! At the moment they only serve soju and beer but I have been told that they will start offering liquor soon :) Like I said, I don't want this place to get crowded but they deserve the business with food and service like this. I hope they stick around and become a new staple in Pal Park! PS. The menu is entirely in Korean so bring a friend who is fluent or ask the waiters for suggestions! I will definitely have to mention to them that they should make an English version of their menu. Will be back with pictures later!”

“First time here yesterday and the food is great! I love all the selections and there’s great vegetarian options. Their egg fried rice was super fluffy and soft, worth the try! I got about 1.5 lbs of dry pot at 0.5 spicy and it was too spicy for me. I also think the saltiness can be reduced. Service was quick and restaurant is clean.
Would definitely come back to try other items.

“Been loving this restaurant for years… it is an absolute gem.

They offer an incredible banchan spread - clean, tasty, well balanced, never too sweet/salty - all homemade with care by their sajangnim (who also oversees the room with understated competence, the pro that she is).

Wife and I usually get chadolbegi and samgyupsal, and the cuts are always top quality. And you must know that their gyeran-jjim & denjang-jjigae (included with the meal set) are elite.

We always leave full and satisfied with the dining experience.

Notable that all of the servers are so attentive and friendly - especially Ms Kang, Ms Cho, and Helen unni (super mom of four grown kids!)… we always feel welcomed here, a neighborhood spot staffed by friends & family.

There are so many eateries in Fort Lee & Pal Park, which is of course a blessing… but Moo & Oink stands out and deserves all the stars!”

We visited for a family gathering and were shown to a private room; the service was attentive, and they kept refilling the delicious side dishes.
The sashimi was fresh, as was all the seafood. There was a wide variety of tasty accompanying dishes, and the staff were all friendly.
The aged kimchi was particularly outstanding—the assorted sashimi paired with it was truly delicious.
The portions were so generous that they even packed up the spicy fish stew for us to take home.

“The request was find the best pizza near our hotel. After comparing some reviews we headed to Urban Tomato. It’s in a neighborhood setting across from a church. The restaurant decor is simple but comfortable with a great hosts. We never felt cramped. The boys enjoyed a chicken pizza half garlic and half bbq drizzle and my wife and I enjoyed a fungi white pizza that was out of this world. I continue to say this, if g-d had given Jersey the water, their pizza would be king.”

“Appreciation post😃 Since 4 days my freshly turned teenage daughter has been saying one thing when I ask her what you want to do on New Year’s Eve …” I want to have kudos bubble tea as the last thing I drink in 2022”. It’s been a tough few months for her and i wanted to make sure she gets her wish. So yesterday morning I called kudos. Asked when they will close for the day. They said 10pm. We scheduled all our plans in such a way that at 9pm we go and get the much anticipated bubble tea. At 9 my husband, son and daughter headed out to kudos… only to find that they have closed at 7 for a private event. This is my back story. On the other side of the story… which probably has its own back story… Cherie the owner had shut the bakery as her daughter wanted to celebrate with her friends and family. As a mother myself I can totally understand that. When she saw my family she informed them that they are closed. But when she heard we had called in morning and saw my daughters dejected face… she opened her doors. Made a quick bubble tea and even gave some extra cookies as a New Years treat. My kids came back so happy saying “mommy it was a holiday miracle!” Thank you Kudo Society Cafe. For providing us one last 2022 miracle. Thank you Cherie for understanding. We have been Kudos patrons since it was at palisades park but now we are die hard advocating neighbors of yours. Ps: pic of the cookie treat. My son ate the red velvet on way home.”

“We LOVE Haru Hana - it's our go to for sushi. Their rolls are delicious, and everything comes near and ready to go. Cozy little takeout store , convenient spot, with super nice staff. They're very cool and accommodating and we really enjoy it.”

“I had an amazing experience at Tang Maru! The Sundae-guk (Korean blood sausage soup) was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich, deep, and full of flavor, and the sundae and meat were tender and fresh. It tasted like a comforting homemade Korean meal.

The side dishes were also excellent, and the service was friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for authentic Korean soup in New Jersey, I highly recommend giving Tang Maru a try. I’ll definitely be coming back!”

Portions are very generous, the staff is super welcoming, and the prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. “If you want to recharge your energy, this is a must-visit, one-of-a-kind wellness food spot in Palisades Park, NJ.

With chicken so tenderly slow-cooked that the meat just falls off the bone, the combination with the rich, deep broth is pure art.
Aside from the classic chicken Baeksuk, the lineup including duck, neungi mushroom, lacquer, abalone, and Haesintang is incredibly impressive. Depending on your preference, it was great to be able to choose between the deep 'herbal broth' or the savory, chewy 'nurungji porridge.'

The variety of side dishes isn't huge, but the sweet and sour pickled vegetables served with it make an amazing combo with the Baeksuk.

On top of that, with the complimentary pancake that is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, it is a generous spread that will instantly bring back your lost appetite.

The portion is so huge at about 3 to 4 servings, the more people you go with, the better the value.
I highly recommend it for bringing your parents or as a group gathering spot for friends.

Because Baeksuk dishes require a long cooking time, a phone reservation at least 90 minutes in advance is an absolute must! If you just walk in, you might not be able to get a table, so make a reservation before you visit!”

“Press sandwich chain from South Korea. I have been a customer since they open many years ago. They have both sweet and savory options, their bulgogi beef and spicy chicken are my favorite. The staff has changed over the years but they have always been very friendly and service is always pretty fast. A lot of also people come here for their sweetened ice coffee, which I find to be a treat. They also offer bakery items as well as premade cold-cut sandwiches and gimbab (Korean rice roll). I recently notice them having Portuguese-style egg tarts too. It's located in the hart of downtown Palisades Park. Street parking only and sometimes it's hard to come by.”

“Lived in lodi for a year, china moon was right around the corner. I really miss this place since moving, they have amazing chinese food that is very affordable and always helped me when i was too tired to cook. Meals always have several portions inside, my favorite was the house special may fun.”

“I didn't even know I liked rice cakes until I had the ones at Arirang. Rice cakes are typically dense, chewy blocks that, to me, never seemed worth the blood sugar spike. But my mom and sister have been raving about the rice cakes here for the longest time, and I finally managed to give them a try recently.

In short, they're incredible. I guess that's to be expected from a store that specializes in just one thing, but I immediately noticed a stark difference between these and the ones they sell at Asian supermarkets. Rice cakes (especially ones that have been on the shelves for some time) can be hard and tough, at worst erring toward the experience of chewing gum. Arirang's rice cakes are incredibly soft, both to the touch and in the mouth. Imagine the softest mochi-like texture giving way to a cloud of sweetness (the level of which depends on which kind of rice cake you get).

I'm a new fan of the fruit rice cakes, the likes of which I haven't seen in any other shop. The outside is powdery and tender, with a sweet, fruit filling that I found extremely moreish. My mom ordered a variety pack of red-bean filled rice cakes, which were also excellent.

The variety of rice cakes in this shop are a little overwhelming, but they're reasonably priced (especially for a specialty shop), so if you're fiending for some rice cakes - or are interested in trying them for the first time - I would absolutely recommend stopping by Arirang.

“This is genuinely good Guatemalan food. We had the beef soup and ordered steak also but the portions of meat in the soup was so generous we didn’t even get too the steaks so we took them home. Service was very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was very informal. Some guys were watching soccer on the big screen tv and others were sitting alone, no one bothered anyone. I’m definitely going back for that soup as the winter sets in harder.

Parking: It’s general street parking with meters I believe are only active on weekdays”

“Looking for some good traditional gamja tang? Not sure what that is? Well it's a traditional korean dish also known as Pork Bone Soup. They have other options if you don't want soup like Jokbol, pig trotter. I know for most people that's not their cup of tea but a good hearty soup? That's for everyone. TLDR: Definitely go visit if you want some spicy flavorful soup alongside some really tender meat! It's delicious.

Food: There is so much flavor packed into the Pork Bone Broth Soup that we were shocked when we tasted it! I couldn't stop drinking it. They give you rice on the side to eat with the soup. It's actually quite a large serving for a decent price. I do think the side dishes could be better, there are only two varieties they serve: Kimchi, Kimchi Horseradish, and Beansprouts. None of them stuck out. The Jokbal is delicious if you like pig trotter. Would not recommend for most eaters unless you want something new.

Service: Nothing too crazy about the service. They came back for refills which is great. They were very nice and since it was busy they had to keep moving around. Nothing outstanding but solid work. I do feel with some Korean establishments there is a language barrier but they understand english well enough for foreigners to go.

Environment: Newly renovated building gives it a sleek, modern look. It's very nice, seats are fine. Only issue is they had flies here and there that will go after the food. So please be prepared to be on the lookout. It's the primary reason we docked a point. The line was out the door so maybe they came from outside? They definitely need a better system for that though if it's a consistent problem.”

“I come across this place through Yelp and the presentation of the bingsu looks really pretty there. However, it looks like they don't do that pretty presentation anymore. It's kinda expensive but the portion is huge; like this 'small' size can feed 3-4 people. This one has mango, cheesecake bites, mochi, and condensed milk. The cheesecake bites can feel a bit too much after a couple bites.”

“For what I ordered (steamed chicken with broccoli - garlic sauce on the side for dipping as you like - or don't), it's very good. The chicken when steamed (if it is good) is how you can measure if the restaurant is any good and it defintely passed the test. Most other Chinese restaurants chicken when steamed (with no sauce on it and eaten) will taste gamey and just not edible in my book. This was NOT the case.
Other than that, the parking is non existent in the later hours till closing in front of the restaurant as the parking is shared with tenants of the building above and other restaurants in the same location. Not good for being on route 5 I can assure you, but still doable.
Lastly, I know it's a Chinese restaurant, but they rush you off the phone when ordering without you finishing a thought or a sentence. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT.
Have one more minute of patience and you might make more money per order. An extreme turn off when ordering anywhere really.

I hope they end up selling it in other locations too~ My whole family (young and old) lived it and said it was really good too! The employee was also really nice, helpful, and informative. She told us the time frame that the cake can last outside and gave us some cups with ice to help keep cool since the weather was so hot. I would definitely come back for more ice cream cake!”

“I’ve been coming to this place for jajangmyun (noodles in brown sauce) for over 20 years with my family. Tang soo yuk as well as spicy pepper garlic shrimp are also main staples from their menu. The owner is very sweet and always wants her customers to enjoy their meal. Ask around anyone who’s lived around the Palisades Park area for years and they’ll tell you the same. Come give them a try and I’m sure you’ll feel satisfied!”

My favorite pastry was the mushroom onion pastry. I also liked the coffee pastry and the matcha pastry with cream inside. Some of the sweeter breads were a little too sweet for me, but everything tasted fresh.

The brunch was the biggest surprise. The meat sauce pasta was simple but really good, and the clam chowder in a bread bowl was filling and flavorful.

We also tried the pistachio latte and pumpkin spice latte. The pistachio latte was my favorite, especially with the lowest sugar level.

The cafe is spacious and bright, but it gets busy on weekends and good seats can be hard to find. Some pastries also sell out later in the day, so going earlier is probably better.

Lots of choices between coffee, pastries, cakes, brunch, and ice cream. Good spot for a casual meal, coffee, or meeting friends.”
