The cook was so nice, I asked, "Do you have any vegetarian dishes?" She replied, "No" but she put a few things together for me because it was close to closing time. The food was very delicious! I didn't expect the carrots and green beans to be soft and flavorful, especially the mashed potatoes.

I'm new to the area and Marie's is the 2nd Jamaican restaurant I have visited. So let me start at the beginning, middle, and end: the food was great, the jerk chicken was nicely spiced without being heavy-handed and cooked to juicy perfection. the spice heat walked up on you, allowing you to enjoy the entire meal. The rice and peas were excellent and cabbage tasty. Add the string beans and carrots and you rounded out a good and healthy meal. The oxtails and gravy were only mildly spiced but cooked to a tender fall off the bone juicy. I really enjoyed the meal and will back again....soon.BTW, while it wasn't the cheapest spot, the food was a real meal, the restaurant well lit and exceptionally clean and Marie and Mom's friendliness make you want to sit for a while to enjoy a good community spot. See them again soon!

The food is nasty, I will never eat there again. Not authentic Jamaican food. Gross!

This is the best Jamaican restaurant in the town hands-down the environment is very clean. The food is made with love, and the service is always top-tier. And it's a family owned business it can't get any better.

This restaurant is so expensive for no reason.. the food isn’t good. We ordered the oxtail platters. The oxtails were plain and had no seasoning, or sauce. The rice was tasteless and soggy. The vegetables weren’t seasoned either. Waste of $50. You’re better off going to Elma’s kitchen which is like 5 mins from this place.

I’ve been eating oxtail all my life this was the worst oxtail I’ve tasted I could not even eat it ..if you say you liked it you are lying….this place needs to look on YouTube for the tutorial on oxtail even the rice was bad..I should’ve just got chinease food… what a waste of $30.. I had to give a star to write a review….

I placed an order over the phone for take-out. I was greeted by a very pleasant woman who took my order and also let me know they were out of cabbage and patties. I ordered a large oxtail and jerked chicken. Both orders came with plantains, vegetable as well as rice and peas. The jerked chicken was delicious and with plenty of heat. My oxtail was delicious and a good sized portion. Sides were absolutely perfect. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We went on for the Jerked Chicken. It's great if you like stewed chicken with j*** sauce thrown on top. Then that's the place for you to go. For us we like our Jerked Chicken grilled with the seasoning grilled into the chicken after marinated 2, 3, 4 days, whatever. That is stewed Chicken fighting (red sauce) the j*** sauce because I bit into a piece of the chicken and it didn't have any j*** flavor on it. It was stewed flavor only, no heat at all falling off the bone chicken. I would imagine that's why the j*** sauce is so peppery to overtake the stewed Chicken and the burned parts. Even the ginger beer couldn't get rid of the aftertaste of the burned chicken. I was a disappointed especially since this restaurant rated at a 4.8. I anticipated better.

Incredibly good food! We got the oxtail, curry goat, curry chicken, and stew chicken. Everything was delicious and the women who made it were so warm and kind. Definitely coming back!!

I've been eating at her restaurant for YEARS!!! The food and energy is always consistent. They are the sweetest people in the food industry. Highly recommend them. I have people who come from Staten Island, Virginia everywhere making sure they get their food fix from Derry's. It's sooooo worth the trip. Thankfully I'm in walking distance. Go get you some

Today was our first time at Marie's and we will surely be returning! We ordered curried chicken and jerked chicken. The meals came with cabbage, carrots, string beans, beans and rice, and two giant pieces of sweet and firm plantains! Oh, and a piece of corn, which we didn't get to yet because we were extremely full! The presentation was beautiful and Marie is a sweet lady. We can't wait to go back!!! I highly recommend this restaurant, delicious Jamaican food!
