“I don't know how many times I drove by Wood Stack on Rt 46 without paying any attention to it. Then a family party was held there and I was impressed. The food here is just good. Fresh, plenty of it, and served attractively. It has become one of our go-tos. I especially like the lunch menu - the eggplant sandwich and half salad is my regular order. The pizzas are excellent and the entrees generous and full of flavor. My husband's favorite thing is the chocolate chip cookie and milk dessert, served warm on a wooden board. Service is always consistent too. Great place to have here in town.“

“Nice little gem for brunch in the neighborhood few minutes drive from the Home Depot. A cute tiny house with parking all round it. Inside is cozy and the waitresses were super friendly and helpful despite how busy this place is. The food is great. They are not kidding when they said the corn hash was homemade, you know it is definitely not from a can. Everything just blended very well together. The rye bread that it comes with is also excellent (or maybe it's the salted butter they put on it). The Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich was hot and fresh. My 5 year old would have eaten them whole thing if we did not order the fries. It is so fairly priced. The fries were $3.50, to put in perspective, a large fries from McDonald's costs $3.99. Our bill was about $30 with 2 coffees which they refilled several times. One of the best places for breakfast food, this place is a real deal.“

“The outback steak house is one of our favorite places to go. We love the Walk About Wednesday Special- but even more so, we love our favorite server, Victoria. She is so kind. She is really sweet. “I would give this place ten stars if I could. This place is great. My wife has celiac and they are always attentive to her dietary needs which is a big plus for me. The food is great. Prepared well and really huge portions which is great for me because I'm a big eater. Their veal shop is out of this world along with their skirt steak just to mention a couple of dishes. No matter what you order you can't go wrong. I tried their short rib over pasta and I loved it. I'm not even crazy about short ribs accept when I had them at Robert's Scratch Kitchen. They way he makes those short ribs is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. For the desserts, out of this world. The service is great. Any dietary needs, food allergies they will accommodate with great tasting food. If you want to any substitutions they will accommodate you. Great staff. For ambiance, the place is decorated beautifully. Really classy, and really clean. I know these folks here are known for their “best of NJ” Taylor Ham ;not pork roll ( almost forgot where I was) and cheese. It was $12 and did not come with any sides but you don’t need it! It comes with a huge piece of breaded chicken on a Portuguese style roll with amazing sauces. Super filling but not heavy at all!! The BLTA was fresh, light, flavorful, and delightful, I recommend!! You just walk up to the counter, order your food, grab your number, and sit while you wait shortly. “After a long overnight shift at the hospital I stopped in the nearest breakfast spot on google. I like to support small owned businesses because usually you receive good quality service and that’s what I encountered when coming in this morning. I had the bacon egg and cheese on a roll and a coffee. The sandwich was delicious, and the coffee was just that. Coffee. If you’re in a rush first thing in the morning be sure to give yourself time because they take they’re time to prep the food but in a good way overall I was satisfied and will be back again.“

“Second time having breakfast here and it was just as good as the first! They have omelettes eggs, french toast pancakes. All the standard breakfast stuff. They're blueberry pancakes are some of the freshest I've ever had. Today I had one of their specials which were brownie pancakes they were little pieces of homemade brownie mixed in with the batter. Then they were very good. They don't have cold brew but they're regular. Ice coffee is some of the best I've ever tasted. The manager is sweet. She runs the cafe. Takes all the orders and interacts with the customers. I had breakfast with my father and sometimes he can be a pain. They didn't have expresso but she allowed him to come in with a cup of coffee from the outside which I was embarrassed by but it was very nice of her to allow .She's very friendly and outgoing. This will definitely be one of my new frequent places to visit.“

“Just had a great meal at Country Cottage. Steamed clams were done to perfection with a broth that begged to be eaten with the fresh crusty bread brought to our table. The lamb chops came out medium rare as requested and the eggplant rollatini was served on a bed of fresh spinach with mushrooms and garlic since I had opted not to have pasta. Our waitress was very attentive and provided great service. I was concerned about noise level since the bar had been expanded but it was not an issue at all. “We absolutely love this place, from the food, to the cozy atmosphere, to the friendly staff and excellent service. It's perfect whether you're here on a date, or for a meal with family or friends. If you don't want a full sit-down meal, you can always find a convivial gathering around the happenin' bar. The menu consists of popular Italian and American favorites like chicken, veal, pastas, salads, steak, seafood, burgers/sandwiches, and a well-rounded selection of appetizers. Nothing trendy but all extremely solid options and consummately prepared. You're greeted with a plate of warm bread and black olives when you sit down. The house wines are quite good and a gracious pour. (A wine shop attached to the restaurant is run by the same people.) The steak is perfection - flawlessly seared to my requested medium rare, and seasoned just right. I've also really enjoyed the fish and chicken dishes here. The tilapia is so tender. Even the sides are outstanding - I couldn't believe how good the sauteed spinach in the chicken saltimbocca was! And the fries are amazing - piping hot and crispy, and perfectly seasoned as well. We've also had the seafood paella which is full of seafood but more of a cioppino with its tomato-based broth than a true paella which has a dry texture, but is tasty nonetheless. We'll be back often to eat our way through the rest of the menu, I'm sure. A happy hour menu is offered from 4-6p on Tue/Wed/Thu. As mentioned, they have a great bar, and the changing seasonal cocktail offerings are delightful. The staff are warm and wonderful, and we were made to feel welcomed each time. Mike the owner came up to introduce himself the very first time we came here. You can tell they take care to know their customers, and seem to have a loyal local clientele (one of whom recommended the Tavern to us). Our meal was perfectly coursed - never rushed nor too slow. I noticed our server discreetly checking on us several times to make sure we were done with our appetizers before the entrees were brought out in impeccable timing. A small table lamp illuminates the menu without harshing the romantic mellow. The unobtrusive noise level means you can actually have a conversation without shouting across the table. These are details, but the sum of these parts differentiates a good restaurant experience from a great one.“
