This place is very hit or miss. If you sit at the bar you get amazing service. You sit at a table in the rest of the restaurant, you're lost in society. The menu is huge, and some food is very good and some is not worth it. The garlic shrimp is so delicious, but the nachos were literally burnt to oblivion they were inedible. The pizza is hit or miss. The wings are very good and they have quite possibly the best French onion soup ever.
Food quality went down after they recently changed ownership. Examples: the complimentary bread basket only includes butter and bread now, while it used to include peppers and olives etc. Also the mac and cheese was better before. Also I got the gumbo soup recently and there was NO sausage.The overall quality went down.. :(Looks like they're now trying to save pennies on every dish.The water tastes like chlorine also..

I’ve been eating at Rockaway River Barn for quite some time even meeting with retired work friends. Food has always been consistently good. This last time my granddaughter thought the pizza tasted sour. We all took a bite and agreed. The owner said he would replace it or take off the bill!!
