“Just had the best Pakistani food in New York. Karahi, daal chawal, behari boti and kulfi were soooooo good. Also special mention to our server Aneeba. She gave us an amazing service, went out of her way to help me charge my phone. Restaurant is super clean and maintained.“
“I went for an iftar and the food is sooo good. I have had this place on my list for over a year, and should have come sooner. The burger was so delicious. the quality of meat ?? The lamb chops were uniquely spicy and full of flavor.I dont often eat burgers, but I will come back again during Ramadan. Craving it at the moment.“
“I visited De Tandoori Knight on a Saturday 4/6/24. I was dining alone. The customer service was excellent. The restaurant was small but very clean and organized. The prices were excellent and the portions were great. I ordered Chicken Korma with Basmati rice, regular Naan bread and a Mango Lassi. The chicken was very tender, the sauce was creamy, delicious and not spicy. The Naan was good. I loved the Lassi. I had leftovers. I will definitely be returning. I am Puerto Rican and grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Growing up here there were no Indian restaurants. So happy to see more Indian restaurants now. I've been eating Indian food for about 20 years. To my Latinos try Indian food you might just love it. Not all dishes are Spicy. Visit this restaurant you may just love it like I did.“
“Please DO NOT use Doordash as your delivery option. Twice I did not receive my order ( puri aloo) and the delivery person showed it as delivered.Ofcourse Doordash refunded my money. But it is very disappointing to keep waiting for your order to realize that you will never get it.“
“We ordered to go here when we were driving through Jersey City. Brother Humad was kind and patient even though we had never ordered there before. He explained everything on their menu to me. We ended up going with the samosa chaat—it was by far the most delicious chaat I have ever eaten in my life. My wife also agreed. We’re both Pakistani so we’re quite familiar with what makes a great chaat, and this was it. It was so good that I’ve been craving it ever since. We also ordered the keema samosa (excellent), the plain paratha and the keema paratha (both excellent), and some seekh kababs that were good but just a little spicy for our taste. For dessert we got some jalebi (not the special one but still great) and the shakkar para, which were done in a way I’ve never seen before, but they were still absolutely delicious. It was almost like I was eating little baloo shahi. Great place, awesome atmosphere and decor (wow, that map on the wall!), friendly service and great food. What’s not to love?“
“Delicious. Very busy. Crowded at lunchtime. The seating feels odd somehow. Plan to take it out if you can. I have Stayed in before, but I felt very exposed to all the other patrons over my foodIf you like spicy you can not go wrong with most of the food.“
“Definitely in my top 5 restaurants in NYC. They never fail to serve out amazing food that is fresh, colorful for the palate and the eyes, and it’s nice to be remembered whenever I visit. Especially in a metropolis like NYC. Hands down one of the best restaurants in NYC. A must try.“
“It was nice to find a Halal place where I could sit down and eat. My only takeback was that I was hoping to find the usual chicken over rice or chicken Gyro, but they serve chicken, biryani, and other Indian base Halal foods. That was not an issue as what I ordered tasted very good. I had grilled chicken over salad and my friend had chicken tacos. There was a variety of food choices, so you will definitely find what you like and the food is tasty.“
“Our experience at this lively and charming Pakistani hole-in-the-wall was the cherry on top of my family’s trip to NYC/Jersey City. Our people (desi) tend to be quite introverted, but our friendly and warm server, Charita, helped us feel right at home from the beginning to the end - sharing fun tidbits, and recommending us the tasty Gajar ka halwa as her personal favorite dessert at the end. I wish every server at every restaurant had her energy and zest for people.Among the four people of our party, not even one disagreed with the fact that each and every item was made to perfection. From the Chappali Kabob, to the Karahi, to the kheer which transported my mother back to memories of getting kheer on Bans Road in Karachi every Friday after Jumuah, we had a very lovely and memorable experience.“
“Hands down, the best Pakistani restaurant in the area. Incredible food and excellent service. Very welcoming and hospitable owner. Always a great experience, I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. Definitely try the Butter Chicken and Nihari Beef (weekends only), both amazing.“
“Pretty tasty chicken briyani along with some channa masala. I can safely say it's comparable to the general taste of South asian briyani. As much as it wouldn't really be my go-to place for Indian food, it definitely helps to end a night of drinks.“
“While I've dined inside twice before and always enjoyed the delicious food and wonderful service, today I opted for take out and ordered ahead on-line. I was not disappointed. I received the same warm welcome when I arrived and actually received a text that said my food was ready a few minutes early. Great day for chicken vindaloo, delicious and spicy.Parking: As with any business in the area, on street parking is non-existent during mid-day business rush hours. There are spots for paid parking on the street, but you've got to circle to find them. There is a paid municipal parking lot up the hill at 30th Ave and 38th Street.“
“Went on a hunt for halwa puri, found it at Mehboob-e-elahi. Large portion delicious taste. The aloo was mixed with achar which I’d never seen before. Wow was this place great. Would def recommend and will be returning for my next halwa puri craving with my family. “
“Easily best Pakistani restaurant in the entire NYC metro area. The food has authentic Pakistani flavor, and to my knowledge the only restaurant that serves authentic Karahi. Also the best environment among all Pakistani restaurants in the NYC area. The Sunday brunch is also a must try. Highly recommended!Vegetarian options: Malai Kofta and Daal are excellent.“
“When I first arrived in the USA, I was afraid to buy mutton because sheep meat was the only kind of meat that was available everywhere. However, after knowing about this store, I realized that it was the perfect place to get mutton because it was such tender, high-quality meat.“
“These street carts were peppered all over NYC. Am unsure why certain carts have longer queues than the rest even though they were all from the same franchise. Nothing much to comment on the taste. I didn't like the mess on the plate which was heavily slathered in white sauce. Reasonably priced. Portions are huge.“
“first time i came was because i always saw it packed during any hour of the day and people always looked happy. well i can assure you it’s just as delicious as it was before the pandemic, my first time, and i love the unpretentious vibes. i didn’t know they offer fresh made naan from the back until i saw down and it came to me. absolutely incredible bread. love this place.“
“I don’t ever leave reviews but I must give them their flowers! I’ve been here about 6-7 times and they have CONSISTENTLY delivered delicious food. Granted, I’ve only had the 808 burger and the fried chicken burger so I can only speak to those two. The fried chicken burger is good but the 808 burger is DIVINE, my absolutely favorite. I must emphasize their consistency in preparing a very tasty 808 burger every. single. time. I also recommend the Marsala fries with a side of garlic cilantro sauce to dip them in. DELISH.“
“My friends and I drove here from queens for Iftar. When we arrived we were told they were all booked and could not seat us. Once they heard we came all this way from NY they called us back and went to make extra chairs just so they can make some space for us to eat! Really appreciated their accommodations for us. The place was packed and roo Afzal water was passed around for Iftar. You order your food at the front register and they bring the food to your table. Both the hangry burger and gappa chaat were really good. Definitely recommend.“
