“Nice, upscale Italian spot in Somerville! We came here for a friends birthday with a party of 12. We were sat on time. We brought a few bottles of wine as the restaurant is BYOB. Their menu has a lot of options, and they had a full page of specials. We ordered some appetizers to share, and my favorite was the rice ball trio which was on their specials. For my meal, I had veal Marsala over angel hair. It was good, but not my favorite because it was very salty. My wife said her food was very rich (seafood and vodka sauce). Service was very quick. Overall a nice place for a date night or special situation.“
“Very good food. First time having Egyptian food but it was quite enticing. It's a small quaint place but during pleasant weather they've got sidewalk seating which I think is awesome. I'm thinking it probably is a BYOB but you may want to call them to confirm. I did not see any liquor on the premises.I was seated immediately and served by whom I believe may have been the owner or manager. Very nice man and very helpful.“
“We tried this location. It is much nicer than the Martinsville location aesthetically. Both locations have excellent food and excellent service. The Afghanistan food is delicious. We had lentil soup with yummy pita bread. Beet humus, I had the eggplant dish and my husband had lamb skewers with ground beef. There are 3 choices of rice to choose from with your meal. Do not hesitate to try this restaurant. You will want to go back. BYOB“
“i got mix shawarma, they had iftari for every one who needed to break their fast , and it was free. the service was amazing, my food came out super quick, the quality and the quantity is just perfect ,best gyro in nj! highly recommend and the great service from maliak , she was the sweetest and helped with alot. she passed out dates to everyone when it was time to open our fast , and told us to help our self to anything from the table . will be coming again with my whole family! loved it“
“We back!!! Wifey and I been on hyatus. We fianlly got a date night and spent it here. We were greeted upon entry and given a little history about their concept and where it originated from. Seated, given water and cocktail request taken. Drinks came shortly after (and were very good). Food orders taken and away we go! Appetizer came out, which I thought was small, but once tasted, I could tell ingredients were quite fresh. Entrees arrived and were very good. Ended the night with their mixed berry rice pudding, it was a great finale. I would give this place my stamp of approval. Check it out sometime.“
“I ordered the Lamb Gyro and the taste reminded me of my time in the Middle East.I have eaten many gyros from many restaurants but the Gyro from here tasted exactly like in the Middle East.Kudos to the owner for getting the authentic taste to New Jersey!“
“Found this place via scrolling on fb / ig and saw an ad for it.. Never heard of it and I'm not even from the area but decided to give it a try.My friend and I visited it on a rainy Saturday afternoon.. The owner of the place was working behind the counter which in itself is impressive right away.. She explained the process of whag they offer very easily and it was fun interacting with her and her husband. Very kind peopleThe place was established 8 yrs ago and I'm bummer out that I only found out about it recently.Using Naan as a wrap is a genius idea tbh.. They made the Naan fresh after ordering.The owner also gave a sample tasting of their soup which was a kind gesture and the soup itself was also great flavorful and the right amt of spices that wasn't overbearing!My friend and I both got wraps and they were quite good.. Actually very good that I'd gladly make tbe 45 min drive from my home to visit this place again!I saw other folks come by in the early evening and overheard their convos with the owner.. Nearly all of them knew them as their own friends.. It was impressive.. Usually you don't hear or see that at any restaurant.. But the owners were interested in knowing their customers.Would I recommend? Absolutely ?Thanks to the owners for being genuine people.. “Had an amazing dinner for 13 for my son’s confirmation dinner. We went with predetermined menu and everything was delicious, fresh and plentiful. We had tons to take home. Everyone raved about the food and especially the atmosphere. Always a great place for a date or a family dinner.Dietary restrictions: My son has a food allergy and they were very accommodating.“

“Perhaps i ordered the wrong main entree. The appetizers were good we got wings and the pretzels 6/10. i got chicken and waffle for my main and i have to say it was the blandest chicken ive ever had. No flavor in the chicken or the coat. Bland waffle. Most of the seasonings were on the egg and they didnt even ask me how i want that cooked because i definitely wouldve said sunnyside up…. They gave me over hard 1/10. Being unhappy with my choice i tried some of my friends’ pizzas and they were decent if you like soft crust (no crunch)7/10 in my opinion. Pistachio ricotta cake was dessert and it was good 9/10.“
“Food was delicious both times I came here. I wish the employees on the line kept the amounts of the ingredients more consistent, though. I could barely eat my pita because it was piled too high with everything and was drenched in sauce. I ordered as it was on the menu with no changes. There were bowls being piled super high too.“

We have been coming to this location for years and have never been disappointed. Service can be a bit slow when they get busy but the waiters are friendly.“
“This place is my freaking go to for a salmon salad! I order a "caesar" salad with salmon. They give you such a generous piece of fish on top of the salad. I put caesar in quotes because it doesn't taste like your regular caesar dressing - but it still tastes good lol“

We had the experience of a meal that is a true delight.The pleasures that Silk Road provides are many: the elegant dining rooms, the attentive service, and the wonderful food, the attention to detail, and the friendly atmosphere all come together to delight the customer.We had been out on a dreary day, one of many such days lately. My wife suggested we go to Silk Road, that it would be a treat on such a somber afternoon. An excellent choice!We were promptly seated for lunch. No sooner than we were seated our server had a carafe of water on the table. The decor has been done with care, cloth napkins speak to the pride Silk Road takes in its image.We placed our order. We were immediately served Afghan salad and Lentil soup. The salad was loaded with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, the lentil soup delicious (and I dislike lentils!). Two pieces of Afghan Bread were served shortly after, piping hot and delicious. We were told the bread is baked fresh in house. We could have been satisfied with these first offerings, which were offered with our entree. My wife had the Large Mantu, which are steamed dumplings filled with minced beef, chives, and afghan spices, garnished with dill yogurt. She shared some with me: delicious! I had Banjan, an eggplant dish redolent with Afghan spices. Both entrées came with Naringe Palaw, a rice with orange and saffron, an intriguing combination of flavors. My wife, who doesn't particularly like eggplant, loved my dish almost as much as I did. A true gustatory delight.The owner spent some time with us, his pride in his restaurant and his cuisine evident, his desire to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere makes for a great dining experience. Do yourself a favor: venture forth to Silk Road. You'll be pleased you did.“
“Not sure which cuisine it is but tastes good. If you eat spicy food then you may not like this place. I tried their khorma and qabuli, which was really tasty and comes with huge portion, complementary bread and butter and salad. You cannot find food at such a reasonable price. Highly recommend.“
“To start this is a great place. They were super accommodating to our group and we had a great meal. We started off with the meatball and the feta and olives. Both were fantastic appetizers with a ton of flavor. Next we both decided to enjoy the chicken and lamb platters. The platters were priced very well and had a ton of food included. It was the best value on the menu and delicious. Overall it was a solid night out with friends and I definitely would go again.“
