“This small restaurant is first-rate all around. My wife and I went there for an early dinner literally right after we found that it exists. We are always curious to try new cuisines and did not know that there is an Uzbek community in our part of NJ. We went in knowing nothing at all about Uzbek food, so I can only comment on the few dishes that we ordered (we look forward to trying many other dishes on the menu in future.) The salads are fresh and have distinctive homemade dressing. The beef dumpling soup was one of the best soups I've eaten recently - the broth is light and deliciously flavored with dill. The dumplings are small and very much like beef wontons. The lamb sausages are lean not fatty with a great slightly smoky flavor. They were served with sliced small potatoes spiced with dill and garlic. All the flavors in each of the dish are balanced - no one of them overwhelms the others. The sofi plov is a rice dish with meat, chickpeas, shredded carrot, tiny grapes and other tasty ingredients. The portion served is large and we are finishing off the sofi plov for breakfast this morning. The ayran yoghurt drink with mint was very refreshing. The bread is fresh (and a large serving) and has a very light glaze of honey with sesame seed. The gentleman who took our orders may be the owner and he was very friendly and helpful at explaining items on the menu to us. This was a dining experience with nothing minus whatever. We look forward to eating at Old Bukhara again soon.“
“My visit here was super enjoyable and everything was really tasty. They have really good portions and a variety of flavors through out the dish’s. I would recommend the baba ghanoush and any of the kebabs. This is also a BYOB restaurant which is very convenient. It’s Also very pretty inside and outside that adds to the great atmosphere. Would recommend to try here Forsure.Kid-friendliness: Kids allowedWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp“
“Visit this place every week during lunch. The food is amazing, taste delicious and consistent. I think this restaurant is far better choice than other places in the neighbor. Highly recommended!!!Vegetarian options: Recently added traditional Indian food option which is a complement to Chicken Shawarma for me.“
“Small place with a 4-5 tables to sit at with counter service. Really good pita and hummus (super smooth and creamy), falafels (great consistency and taste), and chicken shawarma. Everything we ordered was good. Look forward to returning soon.“
“Found this place via scrolling on fb / ig and saw an ad for it.. Never heard of it and I'm not even from the area but decided to give it a try.My friend and I visited it on a rainy Saturday afternoon.. The owner of the place was working behind the counter which in itself is impressive right away.. She explained the process of whag they offer very easily and it was fun interacting with her and her husband. Very kind peopleThe place was established 8 yrs ago and I'm bummer out that I only found out about it recently.Using Naan as a wrap is a genius idea tbh.. They made the Naan fresh after ordering. The owner also gave a sample tasting of their soup which was a kind gesture and the soup itself was also great flavorful and the right amt of spices that wasn't overbearing! My friend and I both got wraps and they were quite good.. Actually very good that I'd gladly make tbe 45 min drive from my home to visit this place again!I saw other folks come by in the early evening and overheard their convos with the owner.. Nearly all of them knew them as their own friends.. It was impressive.. Usually you don't hear or see that at any restaurant.. But the owners were interested in knowing their customers.Would I recommend? Absolutely ?Thanks to the owners for being genuine people.. It makes a whole lot of difference when you get to encounter with them at a restaurant ?“
“Every dinner here is above average- is that even possible? The (kosher) meat menu's large but everything is built on a theme. The knowledgeable waitstaff always guides us toward the best combinations. Last night we tried the stuffed eggplant appetizer- it was rich, salty, sweet, and sour. Probably not for everyone but it's now a favorite of ours. We also tried the pistachio lamb kebab, which was really unique and delicious. It came wrapped in a flatbread and covered in a tangy tomato sauce and ground pistachios. Super unique and tasty. Dessert was baklava made with kataifi and ground walnuts. My pancreas cried out for help while my taste buds told it to sit down. Totally worth the calories. Portions are huge- come hungry and prepared to take home leftovers.“
“PROs - good food (meat) , good service , nice location CONs- not much for veggie lovers First timer .. good location... right on oak tree and park ave . Lots of other shops in this strip mall. Lots of parking ... gets busy on weekends and peak hours .. they also sell baklava and few other sweets ... We ordered gyros .. we also asked for extra meat . So the quantity was really good . We saw them prepare the chicken gyro and it was just awesome . Meat was juicy and tasted perfect . Goes well with rice , salad ... kids liked it . There was felafel but very limited options for veggie lovers. Lots of place to sit and dine . Overall a good spot for a quick lunch.. priced good .“
“Great atmosphere. Rapidly seated. Got the falafel, hummus and salsa (comes with pita but I declined). Got a plate of pickles, on the house, which were flavorful. The falafel plate was filling and flavorful. It came with five balls and it was sufficient. The hummus tasted so fresh. I had no complaints. Street parking fyi. They accept card.“
“I recently had the chance to try out Halal Guys, and it was amazing! The flavors in their meals were just incredible. The meat was so tender and flavorful, and when you pair it with their special white sauce, it is delicious. Plus, they give you really generous portions, and the service was fantastic. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!“
“I have been meaning to stop here because it is really close to my house. Well, Valentine's meal for one was the perfect time to try it out. I had a falafel sandwich. The falafel was crispy outside, but soft and moist inside. It also came with tomato and lettuce (I skipped the raw onion). There were 3 very small ramekins of dressings. One was tzatziki, one was another white sauce similar to a thin mayo, and the third was a very flavorful hot sauce that tasted so good (I normally skip the hot sauce, but I could tolerate this one). Everything tasted fresh. You may want to get a side because the sandwich is on the small side, and I definitely could have used more sauce. I definitely want to go back and try more items from the menu.“
“This is my favorite restaurant and bar ever. I bring all my family and my friends here every time I am in New Jersey. And the staff are the best people ever. Can’t give this place enough compliments… 5 stars doesn’t even begin to cover it.“
“This is a takeout restaurant, just fyi. This place is my family’s trusted authentic Pakistani restaurant. We constantly get nan kabobs from here. The nan is delicious and can be reheated the next day to eat— and it’ll still taste delicious!“
“Mamoun's Falafel is a true gem for falafel enthusiasts! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in the inviting aroma of freshly fried falafel and exotic spices. The menu boasts an array of Middle Eastern delights, with their signature falafel stealing the show. Each bite is a delightful explosion of flavor and texture, perfectly complemented by the assortment of fresh salads and creamy tahini sauce. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends. While the service is efficient, there may be a slight wait during peak hours, but trust me, it's well worth it.Overall, Mamoun's Falafel delivers a delicious and authentic culinary experience that won't disappoint. Whether you're a falafel aficionado or simply looking to explore new flavors, this beloved eatery is a must-visit. Just be sure to come hungry!“
“Current Review -Was in mood for Kabobs in this cold weather and stopped at this place late evening. Ordered Lamb Chops, Lamb Shank Pulao and Chicken Kofta Kabobs.Didn’t disappoint me. Amazing taste, flavorful and had authentic reflections of Mediterranean cuisine. Their Lamb items are the best among the list.Their complementary Bread and Salads with different sauces is noteworthy. My recommendation is Lamb Chops and Lamb Shank Pulao. Shank was so well cooked that the meat was falling off from the bone and literally melting in the mouth. It’s an open casual dining place. Plate portion is good, competitive price for excellent taste and food quality. Customer service was good this time and could be because of less traffic.A must visit is recommended if you crave for Mediterranean food. I will visit again.Review from 2 years ago -We family and friends visit for dinner and tried Chicken Chapli, Lamb Chop, Chicken Lentil Soup and Chicken Gyro. Undoubtedly, the Lentil Soup and Lamb Chop were best from the list. Customer service is not good for family dine-in.“
