“This is a real Irish bar. Not in the sense of taped up paper leprechauns or a tinsel HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY banner, but rather campaign photos of John and Robert Kennedy, as well as other candidates for office going back more than 100 years. It's one of the oldest bars in New York City, and decorated with historical markers, play tickets, political posters and buttons, as well as a painting of a naked lady! Your choices for drinks are light ale or dark ale. They make good sandwiches, too.“
“Went to a catered event there today. What a fun place! Very comfortable. Absolutely fantastic food!! Huge variety and really cool takes on comfort food. Deconstructed chicken and biscuits, brats in pretzel roll (pigs and a blanket) beautiful salad. I would come back for the food alone! And beautiful cocktails. Sampled espresso martini and cosmos. Both delicious not overly sweet perfectly balanced. Service was seamless. Everything seemed to appear exactly when you wanted it. I will definitely be going there again!!“

“This place is great for what it is. Cheap drinks, divey, friendly staff and hilarious regulars. It's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of mostly younger crowds downtown. And you can bring your own food. I basically picnicked there by bringing sandwiches and fresh mozzarella with a friend. Ben, my favorite bartender, served us with his usual charm, and provided good banter when needed. It's a vibe. Go inside.“

“I remember hearing about the movie and wasn’t aware that there was a real bar on 14th street. The level of service I received from the front door personnel/Security to everyone else was impeccable. I have to start with Awna. Her vibe is from a different planet and she serves up great drinks. Her level of service is top notch in my book. But then she pulled out a microphone and started walking and dancing on the bar. She pulled no punches on the mic when it turned into a comedy show, good times. I also met Paula who is very kind and knows how to control the commotion. After my first visit I couldn’t resist and came a second time. This is where I met Amber who poured great drinks and wasn’t afraid to get on the bar and turn it up. If you are looking for a great time, funny commentary from the bartenders, good drinks this is the go to place on 14th street.“

They even have "ass juice" (some sort of fruit punch) for just $4, if you're into it. So indulge yourself here enjoying a peaceful drink while listening to cool tunes. “We go there at least every month. Sometimes more often. This is the only bar I will go to. The owner who is a wonderful man knows how to run his business. He's so friendly to everyone and is always making sure everyone is taken care of. Also his staff is another amazing person. She is on top of everything at all times. The drinks are very generous if you know what I mean also the bar tenders were super fast and efficient and SUPER nice! Sweet Home!" (It's an insider now).Great drinks and great dancefloor even that you have an option to hang your coats somewhere without paying even tho you take the risk of them getting stolen but I have been there 5 times and they never got stolen.Age range is quite good, normally it's Collage age but sometimes there are some older people too which is okay I guess.The best thing to say is that the bouncer is nice and sensible. “This place is your classic dive bar with good food. At first look you would be surprised they even make food, but it's worth it! I'm not going to lie and say it's some of the best I've ever had, but it's surprisingly good & better than some of the inedible crap being served in other places around town (looking at you Tatra Hause ).
