“I tried this restaurant for the first time recently and I was really impressed. The food was fantastic, delicious and flavorful. Everyone from the host to the servers were extremely hospitable and friendly. We started with the naan and lentil soup. Then ordered the lamb chops and chicken qorma. The baklava for desert ended the meal perfectly. I can’t wait to visit again!“

“Amazing food. The best Indian food I’ve ever had at any restaurant. Everything was clearly made from scratch (everything was homemade style,) plus the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The only thing is that they could use more help, as they are understaffed. Overall, absolutely delicious and quality experience!“

“Fresh made to order fried chicken with great flavor: piping/steaming hot and juicy dark meat. The wings are giant, the same size as a thigh piece! I'm lucky to live near a place that serves Halal Chicken and Waffles--only in America, and in central Jersey of all places.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at flame kabob house after trying out their food at one of their catered events. I had heard rave reviews of their zinger burgers, so me and my family tried those ( their Afghan specialties are delicious too, had them at the event) amazing burgers I must say!… the staff was very friendly and the place is clean and each table is given a huge bottle of their green, white and spicy red sauce!.. loved it.“

“Okay so I had an urge to try something different. Tired of the same thing all the time. I stopped here, not knowing what I wanted. The gentleman gave me great assistance with kind humor. He was very nice. I ordered the Falafel dish with lamb and rice.Omg the Falafel is like a hush puppy on steroids. I loved it. The hummus was a real treat with the assortment of sauces to choose from. Absolutely, positively loved it. Nice cozy little atmosphere.“

“This place is incredible. Every single dish that we ordered popped with flavor (chicken kabab with rice and salad, a traditional gyro, and Mediterranean platter w/baba ganoush, dolmas, grilled vegetables, falafel and pita). Everything had a lightness to it, freshly made and expertly prepared. This was nowhere more evident than with the baklava with its light crispy pastry, delicious honey and pistachio paste. The decor is warm and comfortable with exuberant music. We loved it and are definitely coming back. Btw, I felt that the portions were generous, but if you are value minded, you owe it to yourself to try the daily specials. We had the gyro on a Tuesday for $6.99 !“

“This is undoubtedly the #1 desi ( Indian + Pakistani+ Bangladeshi ) food place in NJ -- hands down. None of the super-hyped places like Mughal etc. come anywhere close, We ordered party trays of Lamb Bhuna and Bihari Chicken Kabab yesterday -- it was amazing -- out of the world.“

“My falafel platter could probably be submitted for entry to MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) as the first thing I noticed was how perfectly plated my meal was with a creative drizzle of tahini across the falafel as a final touch. Nothing I would have expected at this nondescript Mediterranean Hala kitchen restaurant in a small strip mall but which now has me wanting to come back to try their other home made mediterranean dishes.Everything was delicious and made from scratch as the owner provided more details about the preparation of the various sauces and condiments that made up this dish. Interesting was a pickled eggplant which I had never had, it was quite spicy but I like exploring the flavors it added to my falafel plate. The falafels themselves were quite dark brown in color with a contrasting bright green and soft inside, the combination of crunch and fresh soft chickpeas and spices I really enjoyed. The inside of 22 Bites Halal feels new with a huge chalkboard of colorful menu items written in chalk by hand behind the counter - a refreshing change from the expected plastic sign. Seating is new, clean with a mix of several tables and one longer table up front in front of the window. There were a number of really interesting menu items I can't wait to try like the 'Fat 22', 'Fat Buffalo', 'Rocket Platter' and 'Fat Rocket' which is a fried Tilapia sandwich with fries, lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce - yum!!!There is also a family platter which you can order with chicken or falafel or a mix of both and comes with a salad, fries and some other goodies along with a large soda. It seems to be quite large and would probably feed several people but I didn't enquire as to the exact number of servingsDefinitely worth a stop for a delicious dine-in lunch or dinner, takeout or a take-home family meal.“

“The food was great. I have had "typical" Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern platters with similar main ingredients (lamb, rice, salad) but I think Alex generally does it better with essentially more kick. Everything was made to order and the sauce and however the rice or meat was seasoned was great. It had a very tolerable and great spiced flavor.“

“Food is always top notch here. My usual go to is the goat biryani medium spicy, which is the perfect level of heat. Hot but not flaming. If you’re lucky, you’ll also get a bit of marrow which, if you’re like me, you’ll love.Their chicken biryani (boneless and bone in varieties) and hariyali kebabs are also great. Get the chicken 65 for a good starter and wash it all down with a mango lassi!“

“This is a great halal place not too far from the train station. The prices are quite reasonable, especially with the combo deals, and they have a great variety of burgers for people who prefer chicken or beef, or even mac and cheese/cheetos on their burgers! My brother and friend got the beef burger with the mac and cheese on it, and they both loved it. I personally like the classic chicken burger or the Chick Melt with fries and a soda. Their burger sauce is great and their portions are huge. The atmosphere is quite nice as well, with room to sit and eat.Dietary restrictions: This place caters to people who only eat halal.Parking: It's on a very busy road with limited street parking, so I prefer to walk from on campus.“

“PROs - good food (meat) , good service , nice location CONs- not much for veggie lovers First timer .. good location... right on oak tree and park ave . Lots of other shops in this strip mall. Lots of parking ... gets busy on weekends and peak hours .. they also sell baklava and few other sweets ... We ordered gyros .. we also asked for extra meat . So the quantity was really good . We saw them prepare the chicken gyro and it was just awesome . Meat was juicy and tasted perfect . Goes well with rice , salad ... kids liked it . There was felafel but very limited options for veggie lovers. Lots of place to sit and dine . Overall a good spot for a quick lunch.. priced good .“

“Halal peri peri chicken. How can I not go visit? This place is absolutely amazing. Exceeded all of my expectations. The restaurant itself has a prayer mat and a corner if anyone wants to go pray or meditate. They also have plenty of seats and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you feel welcomed. Now for the food. The chicken is so juicy and tender, and the sauce they use is simply delicious. Their fries are on another level. We got the fusion fries and the peri peri fries. Also if you get their chicken then be sure to get a side of rice. The rice and chicken pair really well together. Also I love that even if you get the full chicken they give you the option to choose white only (breast and wing) or dark only (leg and thigh) meat. Just a disclaimer for those who don't handle spice well: their hot is hot, and I have a pretty high tolerance for spice. So maybe get medium and ask for the hot sauce on the side.“

“I loveeee Kurry Zone. Everything I have tried from their menu is delicious, all my friends I bring here love it as well. I go multiple times a week cuz I’m hooked! I always have a pleasant experience being serviced when I come in to get my food. If you are looking for real food- that is seasoned to perfection, healthier, fulfilling, & nourishing this is the place to go. They provide large portions so I almost always have leftover. My favs are the Bhaigan Bharta, yellow dal, samosas & they have the best naan!! You won’t regret choosing to eat here :)Vegetarian options: I have tried most of the veg options here. They are all delicious.Dietary restrictions: As someone who’s allergic to nuts & milk they do a great job accommodating my allergies & easily adjust the meals so that I can still enjoy them fully!“

“Popped in here to grab breakfast for the Family based off of my Son's suggestion. It's a small place located not far from downtown Plainfield. It's a no frills location with the typical "Chicken Shack" look. The staff handled multiple orders well without making mistakes. I didn't see them write anything down, they just took peoples complex orders & kept it moving. The food was very good. I watched them make it, & they are NOT shy when it comes to butter. I LOVE THAT! I am not one of those people that will ever say "hold the butter," or "light on the butter." They make everything in butter, lol....& I support that. They are Halal, so there is no pork on the menu, so if you're looking for bacon, you can only get Turkey bacon. We had the French toast w/Beef sausage. Waffle w/Beef sausage, & two orders of Chicken & Waffles. All of the food was good, the chicken are chicken tenders, definitely gotta deduct a star for that, Yes, just for that. Why? Cause their setup they could easily do the "chicken shack" style chicken on the waffle. That would be epic! The food was good though, so no complaints. Syrup is a little weak though. Could be a bit sweeter. French Toast w/Beef Sausage: AWaffle w/Beef Sausage: AChicken & Waffle: B-“

“What an unexpected, pleasant dining experience. We had the experience of a meal that is a true delight. The pleasures that Silk Road provides are many: the elegant dining rooms, the attentive service, and the wonderful food, the attention to detail, and the friendly atmosphere all come together to delight the customer. We had been out on a dreary day, one of many such days lately. My wife suggested we go to Silk Road, that it would be a treat on such a somber afternoon. An excellent choice! We were promptly seated for lunch. No sooner than we were seated our server had a carafe of water on the table. The decor has been done with care, cloth napkins speak to the pride Silk Road takes in its image. We placed our order. We were immediately served Afghan salad and Lentil soup. The salad was loaded with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, the lentil soup delicious (and I dislike lentils!). Two pieces of Afghan Bread were served shortly after, piping hot and delicious. We were told the bread is baked fresh in house. We could have been satisfied with these first offerings, which were offered with our entree. My wife had the Large Mantu, which are steamed dumplings filled with minced beef, chives, and afghan spices, garnished with dill yogurt. She shared some with me: delicious! I had Banjan, an eggplant dish redolent with Afghan spices. Both entrées came with Naringe Palaw, a rice with orange and saffron, an intriguing combination of flavors. My wife, who doesn't particularly like eggplant, loved my dish almost as much as I did. A true gustatory delight. The owner spent some time with us, his pride in his restaurant and his cuisine evident, his desire to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere makes for a great dining experience. Do yourself a favor: venture forth to Silk Road. You'll be pleased you did.“
