“This place is my freaking go to for a salmon salad! I order a "caesar" salad with salmon. They give you such a generous piece of fish on top of the salad. I put caesar in quotes because it doesn't taste like your regular caesar dressing - but it still tastes good lol“

“What an unexpected, pleasant dining experience. We had the experience of a meal that is a true delight.The pleasures that Silk Road provides are many: the elegant dining rooms, the attentive service, and the wonderful food, the attention to detail, and the friendly atmosphere all come together to delight the customer.We had been out on a dreary day, one of many such days lately. My wife suggested we go to Silk Road, that it would be a treat on such a somber afternoon. An excellent choice!We were promptly seated for lunch. No sooner than we were seated our server had a carafe of water on the table. The decor has been done with care, cloth napkins speak to the pride Silk Road takes in its image.We placed our order. We were immediately served Afghan salad and Lentil soup. The salad was loaded with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, the lentil soup delicious (and I dislike lentils!). Two pieces of Afghan Bread were served shortly after, piping hot and delicious. We were told the bread is baked fresh in house. We could have been satisfied with these first offerings, which were offered with our entree. My wife had the Large Mantu, which are steamed dumplings filled with minced beef, chives, and afghan spices, garnished with dill yogurt. She shared some with me: delicious! I had Banjan, an eggplant dish redolent with Afghan spices. Both entrées came with Naringe Palaw, a rice with orange and saffron, an intriguing combination of flavors. My wife, who doesn't particularly like eggplant, loved my dish almost as much as I did. A true gustatory delight.The owner spent some time with us, his pride in his restaurant and his cuisine evident, his desire to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere makes for a great dining experience. Do yourself a favor: venture forth to Silk Road. You'll be pleased you did.“

“I tried this restaurant for the first time recently and I was really impressed. The food was fantastic, delicious and flavorful. Everyone from the host to the servers were extremely hospitable and friendly. We started with the naan and lentil soup. Then ordered the lamb chops and chicken qorma. The baklava for desert ended the meal perfectly. I can’t wait to visit again!“

“We went to Tosca Mangiano for our Anniversary on a Friday night, the food was absolutely amazing, Pulpo cooked to perfection, the gnocchi was probably one of the best I have had, my husband ordered the Bronzino and he said it was delicious! Dessert was the Almond sponge cake which was decadent! The service was not great, disappointing considering the quality of the food.“

“Changing my review because it technically wasn't fair. The decor was very pretty. The waitress was nice and my husband enjoyed his pasta even though it was not as described on the menu. My eggplant was not done well and my lack of finishing it should have raised concern with the waitress. Overall it was a pleasant atmosphere and the wine list was extensive.“

“I discovered this little gem of a restaurant while visiting my family in Westfield. A small, understated family run Greek/Mediterranean place that makes you feel right at home. These guys present quality dishes made with quality ingredients that are just delicious. I was overjoyed to finally get a restaurant meal that did not disappoint me, as so many these days do. “I just have to say that this place is one of my favorites to eat out at. If I could have a full meal of their bread I would- It is just probably one of the best breads I've ever had. Also I am a picky eater for example I don't even like pizza, yet I have yet to find something on the Birdge's menu that I don't like. Their kababs are so tasty and filling and their rice is perfectly seasoned and creamy. I recently went with my friend and I got one dish and I was SOOO full from it and I'm still dreaming about it. The staff are so kind and the waiters are very friendly. great experience :), Also the seating by the window is so nice to sit at at night!!!!“

“To start this is a great place. They were super accommodating to our group and we had a great meal. We started off with the meatball and the feta and olives. Both were fantastic appetizers with a ton of flavor. Next we both decided to enjoy the chicken and lamb platters. The platters were priced very well and had a ton of food included. It was the best value on the menu and delicious. Overall it was a solid night out with friends and I definitely would go again.“

Every time we order, the food is always consistently good and you get a lot of food for the price. “Ellinikon is such a cute and cozy coffee shop/market. There are plenty of tables and spaces inside, but it does get crowded with various groups of people visiting and hanging out. That's not a drawback and lends itself to the lively atmosphere and a sense of community at Ellinikon.The food is great! I love the Democratus sandwich: the brioche bun melts in your mouth. I also really enjoy the Freddo coffee and the mango danishes. The staff is nice and friendly.The drawbacks: The Wi-Fi isn't secure and can be a bit tricky to connect to at times. However, once you're online, it's generally pretty reliable. In the seating area, there are only four outlets available (one set by the door and another by the benches), so make sure to plan ahead if you'll need to charge your devices. One other thing to consider is that sitting near the open kitchen sometimes makes my eyes water, possibly due to onions being cut during food preparation.Regardless, Ellinikon is one of my favorite places in Highland Park to meet up with friends or just spend time by myself. I just plan accordingly, and the drawbacks don't prevent me from enjoying my time at Ellinikon.“

“The owners are so polite and kind they make the orders super quick and tasty. I ordered the fat burger it reminds me of the Italian Cheesesteaks I grew up on in Jersey City it was amazing! I’ve ordered from this place several times now and every time it’s been good and they’re open later than most places in the area (10 PM on most days) so that’s a plus for me since I’m a bit of night owl. The portions are huge which I like and their menu has plenty of options to choose from. I love this place and will def be ordering more.“

“You get a very good size pita here! About the size of a biiiiig overstuffed burrito. The smoked eggplant in the falafel supreme is soooo good. Every single dish that we ordered popped with flavor (chicken kabab with rice and salad, a traditional gyro, and Mediterranean platter w/baba ganoush, dolmas, grilled vegetables, falafel and pita). Everything had a lightness to it, freshly made and expertly prepared. This was nowhere more evident than with the baklava with its light crispy pastry, delicious honey and pistachio paste. The decor is warm and comfortable with exuberant music. We loved it and are definitely coming back. “Great authentic Greek food bringing the flavors of Greece to New Jersey! Staff are friendly and the food amazing! They also have a terrace outside so you can enjoy when weather permits. As a bonus, they are byob and a there's a small store next to it that sells wine. They also own the Greek pastry shop next door for your Greek pastry fix. Reservations are highly recommended as they are very busy towards the end of the week.“

“I have some of the best pizza in Somerset however I think they are changing to a cheaper Bridge it seems like everyone is getting this Easy Bake Oven flour to make horrible bread the cheese and the sausage fantastic but please please go back to the better bread it might cost a little more and maybe you can charge a little more but this bread that you have now is not going to work this is not going to keep you in the top class right now you're fading with that bread but we like the sauce and the cheese so much we will order again can we bring you our own dough cuz that bread has got to“

“Great small, quant place in town for Mediterranean food. We came for an earlier dinner at 5:30 on a Saturday and we were the only table. There were a number of people coming in to pick up takeout and delivery orders though. We started with the lentil soup and then I had the Chicken Kabob entree and my wife had the Mahi Mahi entry. We both really enjoyed our meals. The portion size was perfect and everything had great flavor. The staff was really friendly. We will definitely be back.“

Their menu has a lot of options, and they had a full page of specials. We ordered some appetizers to share, and my favorite was the rice ball trio which was on their specials. For my meal, I had veal Marsala over angel hair. It was good, but not my favorite because it was very salty. My wife said her food was very rich (seafood and vodka sauce). Service was very quick. Overall a nice place for a date night or special situation.“
