Hadn’t been here in ten years. Always liked it before. Today for lunch disappointed. Went at 2 and was not crowded on Labor Day. Walked in employees everywhere and nobody seating us. We almost walked out and should have. Finally seated. Sat at table for almost 8 mins with nobody coming to take drink order. Almost left again. Finally a waitress comes. Light beer was not too cold. Just of. They supposedly specialize in German fare. Pierogi appetizer tasted like fried frozen raviolis with some cheddar cheese and bacon bits sprinkled. 5 pierogies dry and tasteless for $15. One of us ordered the chicken schnitzel sandwich, dry and tasteless. The other ordered the French Dip. Bread good but small amount of dry sliced roast beef. Fries were only good thing we had. $70 for lunch for two who left dissatisfied. Won’t be back. Too many other better pub restaurants.

Took a nice ride today to go antiquing and since we were near Long Valley, we went to LVPB. Been there several times in years past and always left satisfied. Today was different. I ordered a virgin drink and they charged me the same as a regular drink with liquor. We forgot to check the bill before we paid, but I did call about it later and they said the price should have been adjusted manually. Well, it wasn't, so we are out $6.00. This error I'm sure happens more and more now, because there are more and more folks drinking non-alcoholic drinks. It should have been caught by the bar keep and/or the server, but because it wasn't, we paid $12.00 for a 2 juice drink. My husband ordered the nachos. It looked to us as though the food was thrown on his plate. I ordered a burger and FF, which were cold. I'm sorry, I just can't eat FF that are room temperature. I took them home instead. The server did not ask if there was a reason that half of my plate was not eaten. Very disappointed. Since I was still hungry, we got some ice cream on the way home. THAT made my day, not LVPB.

Let's start with the good: Place is really nice and the special beer we had was great Not so good; we ordered the prime rib special and we were give a rib eye. They said it was a grilled prime rib but the texture taste and appearance said other wise. My husband has a had time chewing certain cuts of meat but a prime rib is not one of them. He couldn't even finish half his steak. Though the flavor was good it just wasn't what we ordered. So buyer beware.

Food was poor, service okay, but inattentive. Not very busy, service should have been excellent. My wife had onion soup. Soup was good, the cheese was rubber. We had pastrami Reuben's. The bread was fresh rye, but there wasn't much pastrami or cheese, and near enough no dressing, hence very dry. The menu says the bread is grilled, but it wasn't anywhere near a grill. $19 for a badly prepared sandwich. Had a draft beer, pretty flat. Espresso machine wasn't working.

Service was the worst. Ordered two burgers both medium. My wife's when she cut it was really red and was medium rare. Mine was half medium and half medium well. Mine had the right toppings. Hers was supposed to have sauteed onions which was not there. We had to ask and they brought some. Since it was pretty empty, the waitress should have noticed. No offer of water. No offer of a straw for my soda. Bottled beer was fine (ha-ha). They used to be so good. Not sure what happened. We dive 45 minutes each time we go. We will sadly look closer to home. We love the ride, but based on this, we may stop in if we are in the area, but no special trip anymore. The waitress never came and asked if all was okay. Always leave a 20% tip. She got 18% which I considered a gift.

Wow, what happened to this place. It was once a bustling place with great food. They have nearly doubled the prices on the menu and cut the food portions in half as well. 3 of us went there for lunch today and none oc us liked our meals. Seriously, you could make a better meal at home. They skimped on everything. Way way overpriced and all you get is a kid sized portion of cheap gas station food. I'm surprised they are still in business to be honest. Maybe their beer is what is saving them, but that cannot last long. It was a sad experience. We'll never return. Don't wast your money or time. Also, if you plan on sitting outside, plan on being swarmed with yellow jackets.

Went there and waited nearly 1 hour just for an appetizer, ordered one drink, waitress never came back to ask us for anything else. Had to ask where our appetizer was, then when meal came, ice cold, waitress literally just looked at me, as I stuck my finger into ice cold food, plate wasn't even warm. Place was crammed with tables that they obviously could not keep up with. I am done giving them chances. Worse dinner experience ever! After 2 hours, all we had to eat was a pretzel and 1 drink!

I didn’t like it . The beer was flat and the bun burger was very old . So it wasn’t great . We expected another kind of food and beer

My husband and myself have gone to the Pub quite a few times. We love the outdoor seating at the outside bar. Usually the service is quite good. We went there on Monday July 5 later in the afternoon. The bartender (had glasses on) was talking to other customers that I believe were his friends or regulars there. There were quite a few other customers waiting to be waited on or at least acknowledged that they were there. We waited about 10 mins before he even looked our way & said I'll be with you in a few. After 10 mins he finally brought over menus. He never came back to take our order. He was talking with his friends and 1 of them said he needed a refill so he proceeded to make him another drink. At this point we were done & left!! He treated the rest of the customers as if they didn't matter and just ignored everyone else and was joking with these customers. Earlier he took the bill over to another couple that had been there before us and were done and continued to talk to them for about 5 mins when the rest of us were just waiting. He was the only one behind the bar, but there were about 5 other waiters over to the right behind the outdoor tables that were just standing around. This was the worst service we have gotten there. I don't like to do reviews like this, but I also work in a service industry and would never think of giving this type of service & feel the management needs to hear. Sad because we like going there and the food and beer are usually good.

Good times at the Long Valley Pub. After a long hot day at the Chester craft fair we settled in for some nice refreshing beers and good food. Even though the beers offered were different than what I saw on their website we found a couple of good ones we enjoyed. Both the Paniconi Pils and the Bombshell were great. As for food we had the Sesame tuna which was fantastic and the cauliflower bites. Their guacamole is very good but the portion is small so order two. For our main meals we had their classic burgers topped any way you want it. The burgers are huge and very tasty. The pulled pork sandwich was overflowing with flavor and you can't beat a good pastrami reuben. The topper was the Best of Wurst with 3 different kinds of Wurts served with German potato salad and the best I ever had sauerkraut. Our server Alexa S. was always there filling our water glasses (we drank lots of water during this 90+ day) and kept the beers and wine flowing. We will be visiting again soon.

My family and I had dinner outdoors on a Sunday night. The atmosphere was great, they had a live band and everyone seemed happy. The food was fantastic from the apps to the main courses to the drinks. Really pleasant experience.

There is plenty of outdoor seating including limited seating at their outdoor bar. There are also plenty of outdoor tables that are covered in case of rain. However, the tables are spread out of several ares, so the servers are going back and forth between areas, so the service was inconsistent. Waited a while before being acknowledged, but then the service improved. They have a few craft beers. There's also a specials menu. I don't think that the menu in their web site is the same that they are currently serving. Their soup of day roasted corn chowder and was very good. Best of the worst was very good also and came with delicious potatoes. The bratwurst was very good, but the knockwurst was OK. Decent portion.

The food was excellent & it's a very nice restaurant. Our server was great. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the dessert (cheesecake) was still a bit frozen. But the experience was good & the entree excellent.

We love this restaurant but will take it off of our summer list because there is virtually no air conditioning. It is a beautiful old stone building. Gorgeous in the Fall, but much too hot in warm weather. We felt especially bad for the servers because the kitchen is on the first floor and much of the seating is on the second; thus, they had to traverse steep steps in the heat, carrying heavy trays.
