“Drinks are excellent, bartenders are usually great also—really talented at making cocktails. Good local beer choices. As a vegetarian I can’t speak to much of the food—fries are great, but the veg burger is very dense and not my favorite. I love coming here for a few drinks and apps. Dog friendly too!“

“I have been to De Novo several times. Each visit is more delightful than the last. It begins as soon as you enter the room. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. A great way to start your evening. The food and the service are some of the best in Essex County. Highly recommended. I can’t wait to return.“
“The place is very unassuming from the outside but when we walked in it was full of people on a random Monday in the middle of a day in the middle of August. We decided to get the chicken cutlet sliders and the grilled chicken sandwich with french fries. The pickled onions - yummy! They were both absolutely delicious. Their beer selection is pretty good - I mostly like beers on tap but if you like other beers by can- they have a lot of them to choose. The waitress who waited on us was on top of everything and so pleasant. She was very accommodating. Prices were affordable. While we were only passing through, we would definitely go there again if we're in the neighborhood.“
“I was looking for a decent restaurant for lunch while visiting relatives in the Montclair area. A friend from the area recommended Eagan's. Great recommendation! We had fried calamari, thick cut fries, chicken wings, bangers and mash and fish tacos. Everything was excellent. Our server was fantastic. I would go back again...and again.“
“The food was very tasty cooked perfect and the seasoning was amazing. I highly recommend the butternut squash soup and the Chix Milanese the dressing waw so good that the chef put in the dish I also had the blueberry cobble that was amazing an explosion of warm blueberries in every bite. “I thought I already wrote this review, but I will repeat. The food was excellent but it’s took well over an hour for them to put the buffet of four choices out. The service was not that great either. The server herself was very pleasant, but was not readily available to take care of our group (water refills,no utensils for dessert) of approximately 20. I think they had her covering the bar and downstairs area in addition to our upstairs private group.“
