“This is one of my favorite DQs in NJ. It has a cool vibe of a local shop where eating out by your car seems natural, even though NO outdoor seating is available. The service by the girls behind the counter is top notch and they check all the boxes with selection of DQ products. There is a bigger DQ on rt 23, but for me this is the best one in the area.“
“These guys are always on point. I have never had a bad experience in 14 years living here. One time I was annoyed and complained and the manager called me to make it right. In todays times, you can’t beat that. Just made a large order for a kids birthday party and it was double checked and made fresh. The employee engaged me and was helpful about what I should get for all the kids. Great service.“
“Food was delicious , great owners and great atmosphere. Definitely will go again. Plenty of different choices as far as the burgers and the fries with the munchies sauce was awesome.Parking: You can park across the street or on the street. In front of the establishment is a little tight.“
“We were in town for a funeral and after a couple of grueling days, wanted a bowl of "comfort food." Being vegan, I called Prime Pizza to ask if their tomato sauce had cheese and was assured it was vegan. I mentioned pasta primavera, which is not on their menu, and was told to please come in, they would create something for us. Our big bowl of pasta had very generous portions of fresh broccoli, mushrooms and carrots. The sauce was flavorful and delicious and the veggies were perfect. It was just what we had hoped to find. Owners/employees---the staff--couldn't have been kinder. Highly recommended!! Oh, and Sinatra playing in the background was great!Dietary restrictions: Great vegan pasta primavera (custom-made on request).“
“We’ve been here a couple of times now and not only is the service great but we love the creative menu. There’s not a lot of fun, creative menus in the area and this is one we love to try. They regularly change things up to keep the menu fresh and the food is outrageous“
“I love the food, drinks, and atmosphere. The first few times we sat at the bar, and now we got to sit outside with the lake view and it was perfect! So nice and peaceful to enjoy a beautiful view while having dinner. Really yummy cocktails, good eats, and great service each time. I can't wait to keep coming back for outdoor dining.“
“Drinks are excellent, bartenders are usually great also—really talented at making cocktails. Good local beer choices. As a vegetarian I can’t speak to much of the food—fries are great, but the veg burger is very dense and not my favorite. I love coming here for a few drinks and apps. Dog friendly too!“
“The food was also really good but oh my god wait until you try the coffee!! I got an iced espresso without sugar or milk and it was so good! I’ve had many of their other drinks and smoothies as well! They just knock it out of the park with their food, their smoothies, their juices, and the coffee.“
“Amazing guest service. Delicious, hot food cooked to order. Clean store. Great experience overall. Jeffrey runs the store very well. Would definitely be back if ever in the area again. We had the chicken fingers, fries, backyard bacon ranch burger and of course a blizzard! “
“Very good food, and a unique menu. For example, we had the lobster Mac and Cheese, a combination I had never heard of before. They actually paired very well, especially with Vibe's original cheese blend. It is not your typical burger and beer place, it really is a cut above. It is also kid friendly, with many games like skee ball on site. They also have a large room in the back for parties.“
“Great little eatery. My wife and I shared the ultimate nachos which was a generous portion for the price. I had the western omelet which was also quite a lot of food and tasted delicious. My wife had the cheese steak sandwich which she enjoyed .“
“I've found several decent BBQ places closer to me in Rockland and Bergen, but Smoke Shack is on another level. Get the brisket and ribs with sauce on the side, taste them straight up, and recognize what you're dealing with here: some of the best BBQ in the area -- unquestionably the best I've encountered -- and if it seems too far, let me assure you, it's worth the trip. Just got back from a repeat visit.Vegetarian options: Their Beyond Burger is "almost as good as yours", according to my suddenly very polite wife.“
“I saw this place often as my bus passed it on its route. I thought it was just a catering spot... 'til I saw the "open" sign on. I am happy I saw the "sign" because I knew I could order a small meal. We had the Honey Bourbon BBQ Ribs, Garlic Parmesan Wings, Honey Fried Brussel Sprouts, Honey Butter Cornbread, Macaroni & Cheese, Brisket, BBQ Seasoned Fries and the Apple Cole Slaw.... Baaaaaby!Everything was delicious...the ribs were of great size and cooked to perfection and the sauce delectable. The chicken wings were seasoned just right and they had real parmesan flakes of cheese not that shredded kind. The Brussel Sprouts had a little char to them and the combination of Honey and Parmesan Cheese was something I never had before but will definitely be something I'll have again. The Mac & Cheese had a different flare that I surely tasted can't quite put my finger on the flavor of seasonings but I enjoyed it. Danielle was so pleasant and upbeat as well as her assistant/best friend and they made us feel comfortable. My 13 year old daughter who is a finicky eater was happy with her Brisket over Mac & Cheese and side of Seasoned Fries and the portion was of an amount that when she tells me she's hungry I can say you have leftovers. The icing on the cake was the Honey Buttered Cornbread what is there not to like about Honey, Butter & Cornbread all in one. The apple Cole Slaw was an acquired taste I wasn't expecting. It was more like a salad that did not need any salad dressing. It was different and I like different. All in all this place is a hidden gem in plain sight. If you are ever thinking about getting some BBQ give this place a try, I promise you, you won't be disappointed. I'm definitely going back there are a few more things I'd like to try. Thank you Danielle for bringing good EATS close to home.“
“It was a fantastic, fun, find. My son came to visit for the Christmas holiday and we were looking for breakfast.Omelets and home fries delicious, the coffee...perfect our server Josephine was so personable and efficient. Did I mention the coffee? #“
“I LOVE dairy queen! I remember the day when I finished a whole large cookie dough blizzard in one sitting.. now they have extra large and eating that thing is on my bucket list for sure! This Dairy Queen makes great ice cream, but sitting inside kind of makes me feel yucky, in some sense. It's not dirty or anything, it just kind of gives grimy family restaurant vibes, but I'm probably just imagining that. The actual food itself it's alright, it's what you would expect from a primarily ice cream place. But the main focus, being the actual ice cream is obviously great. So many different options, from blizzard to sundae, to hard ice cream in a cone. Always amazing!“
“I recently treated myself to a scoop of Brownie and Oreo ice cream, and it was nothing short of a heavenly experience for my taste buds. This delectable creation, which I sampled at a local ice cream parlor, perfectly blended the rich, chocolatey goodness of brownies with the delightful crunch of Oreo cookies.“
“Owner was a very interesting person, we talked the whole time, we were the only customers at the time, so it was very calm and relaxing and the conversation made it even better! Food was good too!Parking: Beautiful view of the Ramapo River, right below the back of parking lot too, nice chairs to sit in shade by river, and one can even fish if you wanna throw a line in, very peaceful and calm. Loved it!“
“After a long day of fun at the water park coming here after was the highlight of the trip. Sitting outside watching other families you saw around the water park drive in to get some ice cream to end their day. Just had such a nice nostalgic feel to it I can't properly explain. Anyway, great ice cream.“
“While I do like this location and staff, the food quality for mcdonald's in general has to improve. Fries were fresh and probably the best part of my meal. Chicken nuggets tasted like breaded chewing gum. I had a quarter pounder and it was so flavorless that it tasted like cardboard not even extra ketchup helped the patty which by the way looked like a cheeseburger patty. Nothing quarter pound about it. Will be back for the fries though.“
“I feel transported to the 1950s coming here - there's even a drive thru! The Lantern keeps a delightfully vintage menu and aesthetics - serving up old-fashioned hotdogs, burgers, milkshakes, egg cream(!), fries, sandwiches, wraps, ice cream, breakfast foods and more - but not in any kind of intentional hipsterish way...which makes it authentically hip in my book. Their signature item is the hot Texas weiner. Now a Texas weiner ain't like any other chili dog. It's a fried hot dog, topped with a special spiced meat chili sauce (no beans), which you can and should get dressed "all the way," with chili, onions, and mustard. And btw it's not a Texas thing; it's a New Jersey thing...by way of Greece. The chili sauce on a Texas weiner is particular (and not to be confused with your standard-issue chili con carne), and the taste can be divisive. Some people love it; others like my husband didn't care for the chili or the flavor of the dog. It's one of those things, IYKYK I guess. I for one did enjoy my weiner. And my roast beef club and tater tots w/ cheese both hit the spot. It's simple and straightforward food, nothing fancy. I can get with the back-to-basics-ness of the joint which fits with the theme. This should be an irresistible destination for any road trippers and curiosity food seekers. There is ample seating inside, with two dining sections. And the people who work here are nice. The older lady who took our order was so sweet to put cartoons on the TV for my toddler. Probably 3-3.5 on the food, but bumping to 4 for the kitschy charm, good value, and kind service. I just luv the whole vibe!“
“Reading some of those comments from before and all different experiences from others here at this place about FOOD. My experience about food at this place, nothing special just simple normal food, I have places before I went too and it was sad to call it food but I don’t go to those places and at same place when they bring me food as soon as I saw my order I would say Nop I will pass once plate is in front of me same moment not after half is gone if that’s not what I ordered . Those of you who complain food is cold or steak is WD instead of MD ….. For the price that you pay same steak or what ever other food ordered how can you expect to be perfect or wow or from Manager to make miracle after that same food in your plate what ever complain is about, more than half of the food is gone / done / eaten by the same person which is complaining how food is bad .So food is bad but wait let me eat half of it and then complain how bad it is - If food is bad you can see on first bite or just by looking at it there is no need to finish half of it and cry after, simple bad food return the plate untouched with explanation also simple - not what I ordered sorry I will pass on it . Thank you“
“Update: After a huge investment in renovation, they are re-open! Check out the HUGE new bar, outside deck, and 2nd parking lot behind the restaurant. Same amazing food, same suppliers, same recopies, same friendly staff.Feels like a traditional British pub in West Milford. Great diversity of food/amazing specials - and a great "core" menu. The quality of their meats is amazing, and they have the tenderest steak sandwich I have ever had! Worth the trip, just for their Seafood Bisque. If they have it as a special, I'M THERE!“
