Our second time here we were waiting for about 30-40 minutes and who I assume is manager at the host stand came up to us and said he’ll give us a free appetizer and that we could order before we even sit down. “Just land at Newark and stumbled across this restaurant. The staff quickly seated all 10 of us. They first served the complimentary tofu, kimchi, pickled veggies. I had the dumpling soup, which was spot on because I was feeling a little under the weather. Others had the spicy beef soup, short ribs soup, bibimbop, and fish. The food is so good!! We were surprised to get such good food for such a reasonable price. The only slightly negative is the we asked for separate checks but instead the split the bill evenly into 2 checks. “I have been to Oklahoma several times so I was skeptical. Omg the best rib tips ever. The ribs are expertly seasoned, a heavy ground pepper and salt rub. Smoked for a long time. Comes with delicious bbq sauce, three kinds. All house made. The quality is VERY HIGH. I prefer this to Dinosaur etc. Great price value. It is NOT like the chain restaurant microwave in bag type ribs. It is similar to what I ate in OKC and Texas. The people are very nice. Great take out place. You have to know what to order. “Note: though this place is named Hanam BBQ, we cam for the sushi. This is one of the better sushi restaurants I've been to in Fort Lee. Caters to mostly Korean crowd which means they serve good fresh sashimi and sushi. Their side dishes were tasty and plentiful. I didn't order any BBQ dishes but will indulge on my return visit. This place gets crowded during meal time and does have few private rooms. Interestingly, this place is attached to a karaoke bar. My husband ordered a pork belly dish that had a different sauce than mine did, and that was equally tender and delicious. There's a Korean restaurant about 5 minutes from my house, but I'd rather drive 30 minutes to this restaurant since the food is superior. I've been to a couple of BBQ joints in Texas and this place was pretty top notch right up there with them. The brisket was spot on, I prefer mine to be a bit leaner cut and this place this delivered on that! The sauce was more of a North Carolina style, thin and sweet with a bit of vinegar undertone. The rest of the table really enjoyed their orders, the chicken cheesesteak looked substantial. The sides are almost a show-stealer, not to take away from the meats but man are they good. Skip the fries or tater-tots (you can get that stuff anywhere) and go for the more exciting options like duck-fat infused mashed potatoes or the beer-cheese mac. Nice beer and wine selection, canned offerings from local breweries. I *think* there was a dessert menu, but I was way too full to consider it.“

“My family loves this place. No frills and outdated decor and music but it adds to the charm and is cozy. Soups are always delicious. We especially love their German bean soup that they had during Oktoberfest. Chef, please have it more often! Sliced filet mignon with onions and mushrooms is my favorite entree. “Haven't been here in over a decade so I decided to stop in for lunch today. $14.26 got me 4 piece jumbo fried shrimp and 2 BBQ Raleigh ribs. Shrimp was great, served with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. I wouldn't call them jumbo but normal sized nd butterflied. The ribs had a thin bark to them, great smoky flavor and fall off the bone ready, sauce wasn't too sweet. They actually gave me 3! This small take out place has 6 seats while you wait and a refrigerator case of drinks. “I love Korean Fried Chicken and recently saw a YouTube video where someone tried this chain, so when I saw this location was open I pulled right into the parking lot! We ordered online and it was ready to be picked up about 10-15minutes later. We ordered three different flavors: honey garlic, galbi, and spicy galbi. I'm not the biggest fan of spice, so my favorite was the galbi, followed but the honey garlic. We also ordered the waffle fries which are battered, crunchy, and well seasoned! I didn't try the sides of radish that came with the meal, so I can't speak to those. I was happy with the meal! All the wings had good flavor and great crunch! If you are curious I recommend giving it a try!“
