Weird experience- ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk. When I got the drink, the milk was literally CHUNKY. It looked curdled and there were literal chunks all throughout the drink. Wish I took a picture of it. When we returned the drink the staff explained there was a problem with the almond milk, something about it being frozen or whatnot. If you know the almond milk has a problem and is not up to standards, why would you think it’s ok to serve it to customers? Honestly can’t believe they thought it was ok to serve that. Got it remade with oat milk and it was much better but overall a waste of time and money.

My fiance brought me here for the first time and I LOVED it. Who knew this cute spot was right off 22! I had a delicious latte with turmeric and mocah I think. We bought some biscotti and a savory ham and cheese croissant ?. It was a little pricey, we spent close to $50.

Let me start off by saying I have been coming as a regular since they opened their doors. They were fantastic! I was coming every day (weekdays) and even sometimes on weekends. They took the time to make me a unique tasty drink every-day and I always appreciated that. Around 2021 though a lot of their friendly staff and managers started leaving and the dynamic changed. The quality was not the same since then, drinks, service, customer service, atmosphere, etc. customer service barely says hello now. it's a shame, I loved this place, but I have stopped going because it's just not worth the money anymore.

I have a lot of worries these days and have found that doing simple things like making coffee and listening to lo-fi helps me settle down in the morning. I have a great Stanley pourover set I got for my camping trips that I also like to use at home. The patience of boiling water and then doing the pour over a few times is the calmest 15-20 minutes of my day. Lately I've really enjoyed grinding my own beans so when I ran out of some I had gotten on a recent trip, I went in search of the best beans in NJ. Black River came up near my area and I was really psyched by their online selection. I ended up getting a bag from Papua New Guinea that has toffee, nut, and cherry notes. I've decided I like it best with some ground cardamom as well. Just shy of $20 for the bag. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned. I wasn't in the shop long but felt comfortable perusing the variety. Some of their made-to-order drinks looked really good. Maybe next time!

Great coffee shop in our community. Their Mocha is amazing (both iced and hot) and it has become my benchmark when trying new coffee shops - i have yet to find one that is as good as theirs. We also love to but the coffee beans as gifts and have sent gift baskets during the holidays which as always well received.

Just coffee nothing special, cheaper than Starbucks, which I'm not a fan of because they're overpriced

I stopped in here to get some coffee beans as I like to support local roasters and always love finding new places. I tried the single origin Mexico beans. Used for espresso, great taste and definitely of good quality. I will be back to try something new next time! Great customer service as well.

Pretty good coffee for the local area. They options/specials are very nice. Black River roasters have become my wife's go to since her favorite spot in Flemington closed. Nice spot as on certain Thursdays they have the lobster truck so you can grab a great cup of coffee and some lobstah'. Parking lot can get crowded when they are busy, especially on lobster truck days, is probably the only complaint.

I have been looking for fresh and local coffee that I can make pour-overs and espressos with at home. After finding this place online and on the shop app, I decided to visit and pick up some coffee. I was greeted and given amazing service. I came in with several questions that were answered, which led to a fun conversation. I love and appreciate how coffee is roasted and blended on the premises, and the coffee that's sold has the date it was ROASTED on and not some best-buy date implying the coffee could have been sitting there losing its character for months or a year. The prices for the coffee, coffee equipment, and merch they carry are reasonable, so I got myself two bags of coffee and a hat. I'm looking forward to returning soon, ordering a nice handcrafted pourover, and relaxing in their lounge. In the future, I'll now be ordering fresh coffee online from a place that cares about the freshness of their coffee ☕️ ??
