“I ordered online and was asking for vegetarian (or if they can make anything Halal) poutine and the guy who picked up my call made everything accordingly using only vegetarian ingredients. Great service and friendly members. Food was great too, delicious, hot and fresh.“
“The team at Terre knocked it out of the park, yet again. Beautiful, delicious, local food prepared with such attention to detail. We tried the Chef’s choice option. Each course was more impressive than the next. The lamb carpaccio and carrot cake ice cream dessert were to die for. Our server, Ivan was so lovely and warm. He was super helpful with the wine menu and his great service made for the perfect night out. We will definitely be back.“
“I have been there a great many times, and that in its self speaks volumes. I like to go when it’s a little quieter, as it can fill up pretty good. The food is probably the best bang for your bunk in the downtown area, as the kitchen does a great job at “ feeding the masses”. The staff are top notch, friendly, understanding, and prompt. All round class place.“
“Classic Cafe Duckwoth St, St. John's is a real gem. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and great service. They serve a NL favorite Toutons, ps. They are huge, they also serve fish n brewing and fish cakes as well as all the regular breakfast favorites.“
“Rj Pinoy’s is a restaurant I recently discovered and easily a new personal favourite! The food is is very good and is always piping hot. The portions are also quite large. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the building is noticeably very clean. I would 100% recommend this place if you typically enjoy Asian food! ?Kid-friendliness: They only have two official child meal options but they offer non spicy options though out the adult menu and the adult portions are more than enough to share.“
“Love this place, been in St John's for 3 days, had dinner at the Fish Exchange for two of those evenings. Had the Halibut with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, absolutely delicious. Finished it off with what is now, my new favourite Cheesecake...the Apple Crumble Cheesecake..had that twice also.I'll be back here in a few weeks.“
“I fell in love with this restaurant. There was a snowstorm that day so it was not busy at all due to it. The two staff working were extremely polite. Menu has a bit of everything on it. Prices are typical for downtown st. John's restaurant.Highly recommend the baked brie appetizer and the NY style cheesecake!Parking: Parking is paid on street if you can find a spot or paid garage parking in a few locations. Bit of a walk, so if you have mobility issues might not be a good fit. Street has shattered disability parking spots but they fill up fast.Kid-friendliness: They don't have a kids menu and the chairs in our section at least were high sitters. But thus restaurant is more directed at adults than children.“
“I am writing this review because after leaving this bar and walking off George St. and tuning onto Water St., just as far, we turned around to see the doorman running towards us. We had forgotten our bag. Armando, thank you so much for returning our stuff. We will never forget that moment. Thank you for looking after us.“
“This is a very cute little restaurant with a nostalgic atmosphereThe food is very delicious, highly recommend the cod tongue and seafood chowderThe clerk’s service is also very enthusiastic. But please hire an extra clerk next time so I don’t have to wait for someone to clean the table!“
“We came on a Thursday evening and there was some live music to enjoy while having some drinks. It was not too busy so we were easily able to snag a table inside. Very chill and laid back vibes, so this seems like the kind of no fuss place you would come back to again and again for a guaranteed good time!“
“Gayle and I very much enjoyed our Day 1 Lunch at the Red Oak at The Rooms. My guess is that Red Oak is the catering company that operates this scenic (with a killer view of the waterfront including the Narrows) at the Rooms. The restaurant is on a higher floor and once we were done with our Lunch we explored The Rooms from Top to Bottom. Since Newfoundland (and Labrador) is a maritime province we wisely chose seafood dishes, Seafood Stew for Gayle and Cod Cakes for me. Of course we shared. Washing all that down (besides water) was a wee pint of local ale from me and an Oyster Bay (New Zealand) Chardonnay for Gayle. It was all delicious and with stellar service to match. This dining experience was certainly a great start to our St. John's visit.“
“I loved everything about this place. Gave me classy vibes but at a reasonable price. Perfect place for an occasional visit! The food was good and so were the portions. I liked the variety of options on the menu plus there was a vegetarian column as well vegan options.“
“I ordered Cod Bites and fries, to go. Food was ready in 10 minutes. I really appreciate the packaging! Brown paper to soak up any extra grease and the food didn't sweat! Cooked fabulously, fish still moist and batter crunchy. Homade fries double dropped to a dark golden finish. ( my personal preference - I prefer a thinner batter. However, it was enjoyable )“
“We had dinner here as a large group, booking out the place. It was truly excellent! The service was friendly and helpful (typical for Newfoundland). But more importantly, the food was outstanding! I had the seafood chowder (yum) and a 10 oz steak. I ended the meal with the cheesecake. Really great! (oh yeah, and the cocktails were good too!)“
“This was our first time visiting Zachary’s restaurant in downtown St. John’s. The service was great, although it was a very busy Saturday morning. The fish and brews was excellent.. such a Newfoundland delicacy. The eggs Benedict was good, but my eggs were slightly over cooked for my liking. I would definitely visit again :)“
“This small cafe and gardens, operated by the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador is truly a gem. Sitting at the base of the Long Pond hiking trails and across from the Children's hospital it is an unusual and pleasant surprise. The salads and greens are as fresh as can be because they have come from the gardens tended by the staff. The fare is fresh each day, with some repeating specials, simple but high quality. Open during the work week it is certainly a go to if you are in St. John's.“
“Placed a small pickup order around 7pm, arrived about 10 minutes later and the food was ready to go. The food was hot and delicious as always, and the price is good for the serving sizes. I tend to stick to the same few dishes, but I don't think anything that I have tried has been bad yet. This is one of the few Chinese food places in the city I've found that I actually enjoy, and would recommend it to anyone. The only thing I can complain about is that they are closed on Sundays, so there has been a few times that I have wanted Chinese food only to realize they weren't open that day.“
“Loved the food specially the burger. Short rib was really good and a must try. Food, service and the atmosphere all were pretty good. Food is little more expensive than other neighbouring restaurant. Menu for brunch has less options but all the items we tried were pretty good. Its better to get a reservation as it is pretty busy all the time“
“I went here for lunch as it was a short 600 meters from the Sheraton Newfoundland Hotel. Great food! The chef is really good, the service was prompt and courteous, and the prices were far lower than what I would have expected for the quality.“
“Fab!Ordered the Sante Fe and asked for no meat. I didn't want toast so, the server offered fruit. Love the communication! The meatless Sante Fe was really good. Fruit wasn't the freshest but I was glad to have it and it tasted just fine.Service was awesome. Friendly, checked in during meal time, made offers for substitutes, dessert etc., was knowledgeable about the menu.Seating and lighting was comfortable and the restaurant looked nice.Menu had some great options. There were some vegetarian options and you can substitute or ask for meatless options.Price was fairVegetarian options: Vegetarian options available and can substitute items/go meatless on non veg options.Parking: Meter parking and a few free parking spaces. Depending what time of day, and season, parking can be hard to findKid-friendliness: Kid friendly food available“
“Good food great place to relax in the corner booth . Watch the old ladies spend their last bit of money on the video lottery machines trying to pay for their food . It's high anticipation for the geezers I tell ya. A little bird ? told me that ya got to be one out of 20 to get a good feed of jiggs dinner . Or ya ordering something else.Parking: I hate that parking lot it's not well laid out keep your head on a swizzleKid-friendliness: Kids could watch granny get broke from gambling. Oh what fun it is when grannies purse is open all the way hey . No jingle all the way .cause she broke already bys“
“Looks like nothing from the outside, but huge inside with a second floor and a comfortable, covered outdoor patio on the side of the building. Cocktails definitely steal the show here - Rolling Fog was especially nice. Loved their two sides (No 4 fries and Ear Your Veggies!) as well as their tuna tacos. Service was friendly, prompt and professional. Thank you!“
“The food was really good as well as our waitress. The only drawback was that it was so loud that it was hard to carry on a conversation.Parking: They had accessible parking spaces. Lots of spaces available.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is accessible. You have to walk around a bit to get to the Accessible area to the entrance.“
“Had take out at Jack Astors Asiago Chicken Bow-Ties and bruschetta made with the Freshest ingredients bursting with flavour.Staff we’re amazing looking for great food look no further would highly recommend Jack Astors next time I will be sure to dine in!“
“We had the most delicious pea soup ! What a great menu! Wtg Marys Diner! We will be back for breakfast on Saturday! Can’t wait! I have to add that the furniture is so well thought out for a fast food place. The old with the new. You have a booth with plug ins under your seat for your phone or laptop and across from that are chrome chairs, like we had in the 70’s.“
“We stopped by for a drink and a quick bite. I had their IPA which was really good and my wife had a glass of house red which she liked. We ordered mussels and they were on the small side and many didn't open. We ordered the wine and dessert for two, which came with two glasses of wine and cheesecake. The cheesecake was very good and a great deal. The service was great too.“
“Chinched is a special place in St. John's. It delivers an amazing dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The menu prioritizes local ingredients while bringing world-class bistro vibes. We were there during the Chinched x Rabble pop up.The attention to detail extends beyond the food, with attentive bartenders and friendly service that enhances the dining experience. Chinched is more than a restaurant; it's a St John's culinary experience“
