We came for dinner but chose this location because we'd been told to be sure to explore the historic hotel which was definitely worth our time. Lots of pictures of Western movie stars from the 40s and 50s.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel on Route 66. Walking into that grand reception area at El Rancho Hotel made my mouth drop open! It was beautiful, historic and beyond expectation. We loved the old-fashioned lift/elevator too! Our room was quite small but adequate, quaint and comfortable, with lovely and suitable decor. My family and I were going thru Gallup on a road trip out West. We planned to reside at the El Rancho during a night's stay. It is perhaps one of the best hotels we have stayed at on any family trip we've taken. Not only is it a Route 66 Landmark, but the facility's decor is reminiscent of the old Hollywood west (1940's-1960's) and it's this presentation to patrons that makes it unique and comfortable.
