“Wow! Awesome place! Cora approved!Great beer, inside is beautiful and there is a huge off leash area (for good doggies) and two patios! The beer is great, they also have local gin and other spirits. Plenty of parking. Outside dog water bowls, picnic tables, heaters and table fire pits. Definitely can't wait to come back over and over!“

“There are a lot of craft breweries in Albuquerque, enough to call this the Asheville of the west. And of these, there are some amazing exemplars of how beer should be brewed. But it is a select few that I consider my go-to breweries, places I return to over and over because their beer is so good, their atmosphere and vibe so attractive, their mission so compelling.Bombs Away Beer Company is one of those select few. Located on the City’s east side and a couple of blocks off Route 66, it is veteran-owned, which automatically earns my high respect. The name and theme are derivative of that fact, and played well.My most recent visit was for a breweriana swap meet one Saturday, which was held outdoors in the beer garden. Naturally, we all had to come inside to grab a few. My two pints were the BABC IPA (6.1% ABV; 91 IBU) and Operation Single Hop Pale Ale (5.3% ABV; 55 IBU). Both were very approachable, even the BABC with its high IBU.There’s no reason for that twisted beer face you sometimes give when the hops are overpowering. These were both pleasing the palate, and easy to drink. The mid-range ABV is also laudable, because too many IPAs seem to be duking it out for which one can get people tipsy the fasted.On other visits I have had their Actuator IPA (6.4% ABV; 100 IBU), Hazy Chain DIPA (8% ABV; 76 IBU), MK2 Pale Ale (5.9% ABV; 55 IBU), and Anniversary IPA (7% ABV; 87 IBU). I can vouch for each of these as well. And for fans keeping score at home, that’s four IPAs and two Pale Ales, which should pigeon-hole me on the beer fan scale.Given the theme, Bombs Away attracts veterans and a primarily blue-collar clientele, not the hipsters and YUPPIES you would find at other craft breweries. Each has their place, but I am a fan of all breweries, comfortable in any environment as long as the beer is good.And it is damn good at Bombs Away. I salute you.“

“I just discovered this place and am so glad that I did. As a lifelong moto enthusiast, this place is absolutely amazing. The fully-equipped shop is incredibly handy for people with no garage and/or limited tools. I haven't had the chance to try the beer yet, but I did have the best macchiato I've had in years this morning. (Not the garbage *$ version, but the real thing: espresso with just a dollop of milk foam. Perfection) I will be back often to explore the shop in detail and try the beer. I wish every town had a place like this.“

“This is without a doubt my new favorite brewery! It checked off all the boxes. Amazing ambience, classy, modern and very very spacious. Tons of room inside and out. Although right around campus it felt secluded and private. The staff was very friendly, chill and happy. Ample selection of brews, lots of IPAs and every one that I tried was extremely tasty. Super solid quality. My friend and I, self proclaimed beer snobs, were blown away at the quality of these beers! No joke. The food truck for Sunday night was the best we have experienced in ABQ . The owner cook fit right in with the quality and mood of this brewery. Had fish tacos, my friend octopus tacos. Best all around tacos we have tried in this city. 10 out of 10 in every category. Even the bathrooms were super squeaky clean !!!“

“Stopped at La Reforma during a business trip and came away very impressed. Great food, drinks and vibes. Service was also outstanding. Even during peak hours my waitress was very attentive. The food was perfect. Had the carne asada torta and it was probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had (I’ve had many). Perfectly cooked and very filling. Those chefs know what they’re doing. Topped it off with a Golden West IPA - delicious. Can’t wait to be return!“

“I went here for an event and was not sure what to expect. I found it to be welcoming, non judgmental, and I felt at home. I stayed longer than I intended because they had such a good vibe going on there. I loved seeing dogs sitting around. There was a band casually playing Irish music. The staff was approachable and friendly. I will be going back. I might make this my spot.“

“Really great brewery in the downtown/EDo scene. It's connected to an art gallery as well, and has great art shows that usually are not part of the hectic First Friday artscrawl.The beers are small-batch craft and cover the gambit from sours to IPAs. They also have a full coffee bar menu.Oftentimes, there will be live music playing in the small stage up front.The back patio is roomy and has fire pits.Dog-friendly for responsible dog owners.This place has a distinctly different vibe from other watering holes in Albuquerque--having an almost rustic feeling with clientele that are mostly regulars from the surrounding neighborhoods.Highly recommended. Friendly staff, good beer, nice place to unwind or even get some work done.“

“Nice unassuming spot that if you didn’t know it was there, you might miss it. Beer was good, atmosphere great. Of note, their brews contain less gluten which causes some of the beers to be less robust in flavor/juiciness/hoppiness than you might find in breweries that don’t follow the same practice. Think unleaded vs premium gasoline lol…not the best analogy. I am not a huge beer drinker but when I do, I tend to like potent sours that make your jaw hurt and that was not the case here. Still, I’d go back for the cool vibes and cool people.“

“Our 1st time there but DEFINITELY not the last! We prefer to support local peeps & I'm ALL about the beer scene but the wife prefers wine. Fortunately for her they had a very nice Temperanillo. We both greatly enjoyed the local artistry and wound up buying one of prints displayed there.“

“Life of Utter Gravity We stopped into this quaint brewery and tasting room to sample some of their suds, and we were blown away. A relatively young brewery, as Gravity Bound Brewing has been in business for less than five years but has quickly put the New Mexico brewing scene on watch with their stellar beers and their Quick Take IPA winning an award at the '22 NM Brewers Guild IPA Challenge. It's truly worthy of the award, as it might be one of the best Hazy IPAs I've ever tried with a smooth grapefruity finish with bold, hoppy flavor. The service here is also phenomenal, as they're all too happy to pour you sample shots to help you make a decision on what to imbibe in. No food but a welcoming, fun ambiance that you're more than welcome to bring your own food from home or wherever you choose. I believe they do have food trucks pulling up at certain days, but check the schedule as there was none during our visit. Dog-friemdly covered outdoor seating and street parking only rounds out what you'll need to know about visiting Gravity Bound.“

“A great, lively atmosphere. The food was 1st class, and our server Jude was fun and engaging. There was a little 10min wait, but no problem. We reviewed the menu and relaxed, and were ready when Jude arrived. Everything arrived exactly as ordered, and we added To-Go entrées at the end for our late night dinner. I only wish I’d gotten some take home brew … their offerings are very appealing…. I won’t forget them next time.“

“Stopped by for Sunday lunch since the Facebook food postings had looked so delicious. Did not disappoint. Hubby had the green Chile cheeseburger. it came out perfectly prepared and steaming hot. I had the poke cucumber cups which was the special and it was delicious. The chef brought out some loaded hash browns for us to try and again, delicious. Throw an over easy egg on top and it would have been a great meal.I had a Mexican Lager which surpassed my favorite Mexican Lager in taste. We will definitely be back and look forward to what they have in store for the Old Town location. .“

“We are in from out of town and Bow & Arrow came highly recommended. The beer selection, including the N/A options were outstanding. I was able to try the New England IPA, and the Baltic porter and I am a fan. The service was really kind and helpful. Not only was I thrilled that this is an Indigenous, woman owned business, but I was excited to see what a melting pot of people fill the tables. “Unhinged is in the neighborhood and I come about once a week. I go between the michelada and margarita. Both drinks are delicious. The staff is amazing always attentive, fun and personable. The manager (Rachel) greets us on spot the moment we walk in. Rachel always demonstrates a sense of urgency and her hard work shows. Love the place and the staff and will continue coming back.“

“Lizard Tail has a nice selection of beers. I tried the Black Bearded oatmeal stout and yum. Just a hint of sweetness, nicely balanced. They also have a bunch of ciders and mead if you don't care for beer. I had the pulled pork nachos, which were tasty - pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and queso. Service was a little slow but they were training a new server so I'm sure it will improve. And happy hour every day, including weekends? Sign me up! I was here for Brain Gang Trivia tonight and will definitely return.“

“When I take that first sip of blue corn, a little oyster is created in my pants. Especially on a hot summer day. Staff is always very cool and service is exceptional! Back yard has the potential to be the best in the city brewery wise. They even added a drip system. Shade is nice because that western sun is brutal. I also like that they have a no kids policy after 8, also parents should stay home and rear their children. Kids are a bunch of freeloaders. I will be frequenting this brewery more often. “I had a nice kombucha, not too spicy, and left my tab open while I got some work done. My husband brought a coffee from Zendo next door which is allowed but not encouraged. It is not allowed the other way around (no beer in Zendo). I had a guy get a beer on my tab when his card wouldn't work and he gave a rose quartz necklace he made last night in exchange. Seems to me that we both came out ahead on this deal. Happy solstice!Ps: the outdoor bathroom smells really nice (no joke) but it took a sec to figure out how to turn the light on. “First time at this little microbrewery. We really enjoyed it! Went to hear music by Kelly Curtis and he was really good! They have good beer and distillery drinks and a fun atmosphere. They have a few bar snacks but we didn't try any. The bartenders were really nice, friendly and attentive. Check it out if you're looking for a fun place to have a beer.“

Check out some thousand year old pueblos, or toured downtown ABQ, and looking for a great one stop shop?Come down to this awesome outdoor food hall, anchored by Santa Fe Brewing! You can grab anything from pizza, to Mexican food, gifts, brews, and even cannabis in this sweet mix of stores. It's close to downtown and only a few minutes from Balloon Park. Staff was incredibly nice! They even gave me a poster of my favorite beer so I can hang it at home! I had the 7k IPA, and enjoyed the taste a lot! I also bought a glass and sign, they have some pretty cool stuff!This is a must return for me in Albuquerque. There's two levels of stores all around dozens of shipping containers. “Stopped in at "Tractor Brewery" the local brewery for an adult libation after walking the trails looking at Petroglyphs at Pierdras Marcadas. I had a Mexican pilsner which was cool, crisp, and light. My man had a pale ale, old skool style, bittery at first, finishing with a nice, hoppy taste. Atmosphere was nice, service was great. No food ordered. Will return again.“

“Interesting distillery/brewery/restaurant. They are doing interesting things dreaming up new spirits, and new cocktails. They also have a brewery in house doing rotating beer options. They have more than 15 craft spirits in house for drinks and about 6-8 for in bottles. The Bosque Fog cocktail was very pleasant, definitely a must try. Cut ice from the supplier next door. The Old Town Tea is a house brewed hard tea is great as is the BBA Scotch Ale, so drinkable but comes in at 14%! Food menu is seasonal and slightly limited but good. Exteriors and location is a slight industrial but interior is nice and spacious for groups.“

“The Albuquerque area has a slew of great breweries, and every time I come to town, I make a concerted effort to visit as many as possible. My ABQ Brewery Map has more than three dozen pins on it, and I have finally been to almost all of them.And…finally…I made it to Ex Novo in Corrales. It’s not that I wasn’t already familiar with their beers, because they have distro in the Amarillo area. But just like with Guinness in Ireland, the beer always tastes better at the brewery. So off I went along a narrow, winding road to find the source of this good cheer.I’m just glad they do small pours separate from the flights of four, because there were six I wanted to have.On my flight I went with my fave Mass Ascension (West Coast IPA; 6.9% ABV), Misnakes Were Made ((West Coast IPA; 7% ABV), Sadnia Slice (Hazy IPA; 7.1% ABV), and Crueltor (Hazy IPA; 6.5% ABV). This was an amazing quartet of hoppiness, and I could find no faults. I followed suit with Short pours of Extra Time (Amber Ale; 5.3% ABV) and Liquid Sweater (Winter Ale; 7%ABV). Back here in Texas I have also had Perle Haggard (German Pilsner; 5.1% ABV). Once again, all stellar performers, which with the others noted above give me no uncertainties in declaring ex Love to be in my Top 5 for ABQ.Ex Novo is renovating the old Firestone dealer in downtown ABQ for a taproom, which should open later in Spring 2024. That will be convenient if only because Corrales is a bit of a hike from town. Either way, though, the beer flowing from their taps is inspired and inspiring. Even though I can buy it in Amarillo, I want to return to the brewery if only for the experience of being there so close to its source.“

“I’ve been going here for years and years. It’s my favorite tap room in the entire city. I just found out that the owner decided to close it down! TERRIBLE decision. Awful. I’ve been to the taproom on Jefferson…. It’s not even comparable. It’s plain and lacks any character. Why would ownership do this? “This is my favorite of all the Tractor locations. The place is so cute and I love the cardboard bird hung above. There is no food but they do have different food trucks parked outside for a food option. My husband love the beers and I go for the spirits. The bartenders always make a really good drink here and they are always so unique. I also like that they are seasonal to switch things up. The first drink was a Biscochito Old Fashion. It tasted like an old fashion with a hint of cinnamon and very good. The next was an Earl Grey Lady. This was my favorite of the whole evening. It wasn't sweet but also not bitter. It was just a good combo that I wasn't expecting. I was very surprised about this drink. The beer is called Farmer's Tan and is a red. Beer isn't something I drink anymore but my husband agrees it's not all that bitter.“

“La Cumbre has always been one of the OG breweries around ABQ for years now and what makes it even better is having a bigger location on the west side! La Cumbre always has some awesome seasonal beers on tap at all times, as well as the classics such as Elevated IPA and A taste of Hefe. They also sell their beers to go so you can take a 4 pack to go. Overall La Cumbre is definitely one of the best breweries in NM and hands down makes some of the best Hazies around!“

Under their rebrand, they’re crushing the menu market for good eats at reasonable cost but quality ingredients. They’ve currently (Speing 2024) got great entertainment options throughout the week from Music Bingo on Tuesdays, Trivia on Thursdays, and live entertainment most weekends on an awesome patio that is covered so you’re not roasting in the sun!
