Based on reviews and a James Beard award winning chef, we went in expecting a great meal. We were given a taste from the kitchen of a queso stuffed squash blossom. It didn’t have much flavor, just gooshy bland cheese. We started with the black bean soup, surprised to have our spoons scrape the bottom with the first taste. Not terribly hungry, it was ok that the portion was small. But then we found it to be barely warmer than room temp. Not so great. Happy to learn about and get a taste of various móles, we decided to try one with sea bass, another with pork tenderloin roast and taste each other’s dinner choice. It was clear this wasn’t going to be a great restaurant experience. The sea bass required no chewing. It simply dissolved in the mouth and was very wet as if it had been frozen and retained the water when it defrosted. The pork tenderloin was tough and dry texture as if it had been microwaved, all sides equally pale. I make pork tenderloin roast and when sliced, there are clearly sides not exposed to heat and exterior appearing roasted. Not this one. . This was hard to cut and chewy. Again, we came in excited to enjoy an amazing and authentic meal and were very surprised and disappointed with every course. The wine was good!! It was a total bummer for us both. We just paid the bill and left, always hesitant to complain during a meal in a restaurant and just mark it off the list. We would not give this one another try.

The food was good but the potions where small and sides and garnish bland and boring. The service was horrendous. It was a bad joke we would laugh about while we waited an eternity for the simplest of things like two modelos. The bartender/server was deliberately slow and not attentive in any way for us. It was a real shame because the bar is really cool with a great atmosphere. A lot of potential lost because of incompetent service and an egotistical chef that cooks mediocrefood.

Sazon was a roller coaster - see below for rated list of what we ate and drank. I STRONGLY recommend sticking to the chef recommended dishes/specials. My main course (stuffed eggplant) and dessert (princesa) were extremely disappointing. Meanwhile, my fiance ordered the fish of the day with two moles and it was the best meal of the trip for him. As for service, our waiter was an absolute GEM, so personable and friendly!- Mole sampler: 10/10 (Magical!)- Cochata cocktail: 9/10 (Delicious)- Temiqui cocktail: 9/10 (Delicious)- Sangria Blanco: 8/10 (Good)- Prickly pear mocktail: 5/10 (Nothing special, very sweet, limited flavors)- Xochimilco tacos: 10/10 (Magical, unique)- Soap de Amor: 10/10 (Magical, intriguing combo of ingredients!)- Berenjena (stuffed eggplant): 4/10 (Lacking in flavor and disappointing. The swirl of sauce on the side was good and did it's best to carry the dish but wasn't enough.)- Fish of the day: 10/10 (sea bass, magical, cooked to perfection, with 2 different moles)- Dolce Sinfonia: 10/10 (magical experience and combo of flavors!)- 0 (I enjoy eating unsweetened whipped cream and berries for dessert, however - the cream and pastry had zero sweetness or flavor and the textures weren't great together. Confusing, as though sugar was forgotten. Berries were sweet but not in a way that carried the plain clotted cream and pastry).

Some of the greatest food we've ever had. The chefs menu paired with the spirits tasting was magical. Seeing such humble ingredients elevated to these levels was really moving for both of us. A memory we will not soon forget.

Hands down best meal in SF. The flavor, quality, service, and overall vibe make this place a must-visit whilst in Santa Fe. Don’t miss the duck enmoladas - best mole sauce around!!

This is an unbelievable experience. The black bean soup here is incredible, and I will be thinking about it for years to come. They also have a vast cocktail menu with something for everyone's palate. I highly recommend making a reservation here to make sure you get in and experience this wonderful place.

FYI the mole they bring is not vegetarian - we didn’t know this until after when we told our server we were vegetarian. It definitely wasn’t their fault and he was super apologetic.
