The staff is very nice. The music was a little too loud. The food was good, but not great, not worth the price they charge. I would give this place a 2.5. If I made changes I would lower the volume of the music, I would prepare the food better with better quality ingredients or I would lower the cost.

Update - Ownership changed. Music blaring loud, can’t keep a conversation going. They now charge for tap-water. What the heck. As well as an extra service charge for whatever they are charging for. Dropping my 3 star to 1 star although they deserve a 0 star. I’m not coming back here.Been here a few times already. Love the Birria, only giving 3 stars due to being closed shortly after 4pm last time I was there. Please update your times on google, etc.

It’s been a while. It seems that they had a change of ownership. The music was super loud, though I guess that might appeal to some. Would’ve been nice if the volume was a little lower, so that I could at least hear the person next to me. The server smelled like smoke. The Menus didn’t have any pricing, some of it was Sharpied out. They were out of Quesabirra, which is the thing they are known for. They charged me $2.50 for water. Now on to the good things. The food was actually pretty good. I had the Taco De Asada and I would definitely have it again, if I ever do go again.Back to the bad. They put the straws into the drinks for you. This seems like a very unsafe, poor hygiene thing.

Read reviews for birria here. Walked across the street from our hotel to eat. This is no longer El Maria Bonita as far as I can tell. The menu is limited, some items are scratched out. We ended up getting loaded nachos and taquitos which in all fairness weren't bad, but thus restaurant isn't really set up to be open yet by the new owners. When my wife tried paying with her debit card, they made a phone call and told the caller her debit card numbers over the phone. Who does this? Red flag for fraud. She ended up paying with cash after complaining. They also charged $2.00 for tap water. That's the first time we have ever paid for water. Not even bottled water. Never going back.

This place is small but so much fun. Karaoke most nights, delicious food, and great drinks (and prices). I go often

Outstanding service! 1 man was running the whole restaurant. bartending, waiting, and hosting and our food came out quick and delicious! And he was extremely kind the entire time. I was extremely impressed with this place. Very authentic dishes!

We had Tampiquena Ranchera and the Birria and two Dos Equis. Just the right amount of heat in the salsa with chips. The enchiladas, guacamole, beans and rice with tomato stew sauce and pico de gallo made a complete meal. Excellent friendly service.

We went here by mistake, but it was a great mistake. Small, but well spaced seating. A very nice menu, quite a few offerings. We were in the mood for tacos and they hit the spot. The homemade mole sauce that accompanied the meal was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Came in last night from Texas craving something authentic. Decided to role the dice on this place. Our server was very attentive and answers all our questions, he was very polite and worked very hard. Everything was absolutely delicious. The tortilla chips were still warm from the fryer, the salsa was just as fresh and addictive. Hands down best margaritas I've ever had anywhere. THE FOOD WAS TERRIFIC. I had the fish soup and a shrimp cocktail both tasted exactly like my abuela would make! I plan on stopping here on all future visits to this wonderful city.

Came in on a Saturday evening and it was nearly empty. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered horchata, limonada and an ice cold water. All drinks were on point and delicious even the water (not all restaurants serve good tasting water). For our meals we ordered a kids plate of tacos, beef flautas and Chorreados (birria quesadilla). The beef flautas were the winners! Really crunchy but not greasy, lots of veggies and avocado. My husband and daughter enjoyed the beans that came with their dishes but said the rice was just okay. The rice wasn’t a typical Mexican or Spanish rice just plain white rice. This restaurant was next door to our hotel so it was very convenient but we would definitely come back to try more dishes.

Coffee was cold plus waitress gave us a dirty spoon for coffee. Waited 45 minutes for the food to come out cold. I do not recommend this place.
