Very disrespectful of the disabled. Very rude waitress. Blamed us for being seated in the wrong section and wouldn't let it go. Demanded that I moved my mobility chair, and when I didn't move it right away (I don't move quickly) and made a joke she came over with evil spewing out of her mouth. Kicked us out and wouldn't let us pay for our drinks. The whole restaurant of customers were discussed by her behavior. Serval of them mouth 'I'm sorry' to me. She refused to admit that she was rude and said it was all our fault. The customer might not always be right, but the customer is always the customer.

So, I was passing through the town and was looking for a place to grab some dinner.I decided to give this place a try because it seemed pretty busy. I ordered a chimichanga with chicken and red sauce to-go, and let me tell you, it was delicious! The service was really quick, and the staff was super attentive and friendly.

Staff was great, super pleasant and helpful. Sadly we didn't get to try anything because they didn't have vegetarian options as the beans contain lard. If that's not an issue for you, I'm sure it will be great.

The Fajitas were mouth wateringly amazing!!!! The complimentary salsa and hot chips were great. In fact, everything, guacamole, rice, beans were great. Service was incredible, attentive and fast. What little time you do have waiting, can be spent admiring the art work on the walls (most available for sale).

You know you have hit the big time when you show up in someone’s music video. Well, even if it is for a nanosecond, like when La Cita had its moment of glory in the Black Crowes’ Wiser Time music video (1994). You have to pay attention, or you will miss it…but it is there at 0:24. The video chronicles a road trip, much of it on Route 66.I had the pleasure of dining here twice in the last two months, and most recently sharing lunch with current owner Jerry Mares, interviewing him for an upcoming magazine feature. La Cita’s story is that of a mom-and-pop that opened in 1940 diagonally across the street, and then moved to its present location in 1961.And it’s the story of a place whose name translates loosely to “The Meeting.” If you happen to be coming through Tucumcari, use your time wisely and stop here. This is the Mother Road done right, whether you have a meeting or not. I suspect the subtle nuance of the name might be lost in translation. Both times I had veggie fajitas, and a sopaipilla with cinnamon and honey for desert. There are meat choices for those so inclined, along with the typical variety of Mexican-inspired menu items (as well as American interpretations). The restaurant is looking great for being more than 60 years old, and it is clear that Mr. Mares has invested his heart and soul here. La Cita has positioned itself as the go-to for Mexican food in Tucumcari, and the steady traffic at both lunch and evening meals is testimony to that.Vegetarian options: It is easy to modify several menu items for vegetarians and vegans.

So just to start off worst place to eat, so I got their to get me something to eat and got my drink and cheese dip after waiting a minute then the waitress was more worried about taking care of her friends before we got refills and people that came in after had their food first and was done eating and we had still not had our food so after a hour of waiting asked how much longer and she it would be a while so I got up and left and the staff was rude

By far, the best Mexican food we have had in a long time. We had the chili rellenos New Mexico style and the picadillo burrito, both absolutely delicious. The serving sizes are very generous. Our waitress was friendly, efficient and attentive. We wish we didn't live 2,000 miles away!

This was our first visit while staying on Tucumcari. We will definitely be back! They were very busy on a Tuesday night and were short a waitress. The other waitresses were doing a great job! Our waitress was FANTASTIC! Our food was really good and we enjoyed all of it.

Couldn't get in. We were number 10 in line to get our name on the list. After 15 minutes we went elsewhere; never got on the list.
