“This incredible little restaurant is right across the street from where we were staying while in the Cape Breton area and it was the best meal so far on our trip. We ordered the fish and chips and the “kicken” chicken which were both cooked to perfection. Hot, tasty and delicious! The service was wonderful. It was packed and people kept coming in. I’d go back in a heartbeat.“

“We were traveling through Sydney and wanted to find a restaurant. TripAdvisor pointed us towards this one. We had a great experience. The host who greeted us at the door was kind, responsive, and funny. The food had really nice spices, and it was a treat to have such good tasting, gluten and dairy free options.“

Down East cooking at its finest at the Miners Daughter and the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere with pieces of North Sydney’s Mining History. The Turkey, Stuffin & Cran burger is a must!“

“Visited here while in Sydney for a curling event. It was close to our hotel, and recommended by a local friend. The food was excellent. I had the Pan Seared Haddock, my dinnermates had the Winter Barbecue (a ribs dish) and the Filet Mignon. Everyone loved their meals. The atmosphere is lovely. There was even live music by (I think) Jordan Musycsyn, who was really amazing. It was a great surprise. We didn't realize there would be live music. The restaurant is located in the Membertou Convention Centre, which made for a really interesting location. There is a fascinating museum-like exhibit celebrating Mik'maw history and culture in the Convention Centre hallway. It was very well done. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the venue.“

“Had a great meal tonight, my Hot Turkey Sandwich and my wife’s Club Sandwich were both delicious, gravy had a wonderful flavour. Fries were hand cut and cooked to perfection. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. I wish I lived closer.“
