“Always loved Kay's. When I was a child, our grading day gift was treat money to go to Kay's for lunch. It was a big deal - had fries, sat on a stool & felt like a big shot. Kay & the staff always talked to us like we were important customers. One of my special memories.“
“The Sydney eatery is a highly recommended stop for visitors and locals alike. The environment is warm and inviting. Servers do an excellent job. The seafood chowder and baby back pork ribs were very good. Fish and chips had just a bit too much breading. The Governor's Coffee was excellent.“
“ONLY BAR IN SYDNEY TO GO TO WHERE YA FEEL AT HOME AND BEER IS ICE COLD AND NEVER A BAD MEAL!!! THAT SUMS IT IN NUTSHELL , THE BAR IS ICONIC IN CAPE BRETON , ALOT OF HISTORY THERE!!!Wheelchair accessibility: On a slab no steps easy to get in ground level“
“Ordered Szechuan chicken for New Year’s Eve and was absolutely DELIGHTED to discover that it is a similar (but BETTER version) of my favourite dish by the same name at another local restaurant…Breaded white meat with large chunks of fresh carrots, onions, and red and green pepper. All in a thick and very flavourful sauce, which isn’t very spicy in my opinion (some may find it spicy, I just found it flavourful)My partner got the #5 and also really enjoyed his!I will 100% be ordering again!!Happy new years :)Dietary restrictions: My partner is allergic to cherry so I asked for no cherry sauce on his chicken. They indeed did not add the cherry sauce, but still sent some in a little pot just in case it was a picky eater that liked to dunk HAHA“
“It was like a flavor party in my mouth! Those stuffed mushrooms, they were so good, and the potatoes, man, they were crispy on the outside and all soft and garlicky on the inside. And the veggies, they added this pop of color and freshness. Seriously, it's like a full meal that leaves you wanting more. If you're ever at that restaurant, you gotta try it!“
“This incredible little restaurant is right across the street from where we were staying while in the Cape Breton area and it was the best meal so far on our trip. We ordered the fish and chips and the “kicken” chicken which were both cooked to perfection. Hot, tasty and delicious! The service was wonderful. It was packed and people kept coming in. I’d go back in a heartbeat.“
“We were there today at opening and were waited on by Dylan. What an amazing server . He is an asset to your business. It’s been a long time since we had service like this. Probably the best service I’ve ever had to be honest ! He actually made us feel like he knew us, and was so personable and friendly ! We didn’t want to leave lol. The food was awesome as usual, but Dylan was 5 stars! ⭐️“
“It was a nice experience but was very sad that most of the menu was off limits to me because the deep fryer is also used for the shellfish on the menu and I have an allergy. Most restaurants do not fry their shellfish with their other items. Staff was friendly and service was great, but really wish I could have ordered what I would have liked to instead of being so limited.“
“Visited here while in Sydney for a curling event. It was close to our hotel, and recommended by a local friend. The food was excellent. I had the Pan Seared Haddock, my dinnermates had the Winter Barbecue (a ribs dish) and the Filet Mignon. Everyone loved their meals. The atmosphere is lovely. There was even live music by (I think) Jordan Musycsyn, who was really amazing. It was a great surprise. We didn't realize there would be live music. The restaurant is located in the Membertou Convention Centre, which made for a really interesting location. There is a fascinating museum-like exhibit celebrating Mik'maw history and culture in the Convention Centre hallway. It was very well done. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the venue.“
“Had a great meal tonight, my Hot Turkey Sandwich and my wife’s Club Sandwich were both delicious, gravy had a wonderful flavour. Fries were hand cut and cooked to perfection. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. I wish I lived closer.“
“We were traveling through Sydney and wanted to find a restaurant. TripAdvisor pointed us towards this one. We had a great experience. The host who greeted us at the door was kind, responsive, and funny. The food had really nice spices, and it was a treat to have such good tasting, gluten and dairy free options.“
