“I Love Mappatura. I’ve been dining here for years and I’m always telling people they need to as well. The calamari is amazing, as is the Lemon Tart. I tried the Chicken Piccata for the first time the last visit and I have to say, it’s probably the best chicken I’ve ever tasted. I literally couldn’t shut up about it for an hour afterwards. Great wine selection and wonderful owners and staff make any visit to Mappatura an absolute pleasure. ♥”

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

“Wonderful breakfast spot! Service was unparalleled. Every dish is carefully and masterfully crafted, with a lot of love from the chef who served us with a smile and great recommendations when we couldn’t decide. The plantains were roasted to perfection — gooey on the inside, crispy on the outside. The sassy croissant was absolutely scrumptious: perfect ratio of smoked salmon to cream cheese, lovely caramelized onions and the perfectly poached egg on top! The jerk chicken crepe was also delicious. The rose water digestive after we finished our meal was a lovely touch and the perfect way to finish off brunch. Would definitely recommend if you’re in Halifax! Skip the tourist madness for a homey meal.”

“Sunday morning after nine turned out to be perfect timing, no wait at all and the kids could actually be loud without anyone glaring at us. We split the lobster benny and a stack of pancakes and both plates got demolished, which never happens with my picky eater. Our server kept the coffee coming and even brought the little ones some crayons without us asking, which bought us just enough time to eat while it was still hot. Easy to find parking nearby too, so loading up two toddlers afterward wasn't the usual circus.”

After reading the menu and reviews, we wanted to give the Wooden Monkey a try. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere was lovely, comfortable and unique. The service was friendly and professional. The food was delicious and top quality. The intention and ethics of the restaurant are inspiring. Our server, Bridgid, was patient and enthusiastic, making my young kids feel welcome. My spouse enjoyed his meal and felt good afterwards. This is our new favorite restaurant (even though we live 1,000 miles away!).”

Unlike other places where you often have to wait a long time, the service here was great. In particular, a staff member wearing a long green uniform was polite and professional—I really appreciate that attitude, the smile, and the respect. Another staff member in red also came over to help and was equally wonderful. The service was far better than the drive-thru; the food was delicious, and the place was clean. They’re BUSY, and out of ingredients, but the staff there were HUSTLING around, smiling and getting orders out that they could. I expect delays at the beginning. They never expected so much traffic, give them patience folks and expect a mess up in your order possibly or wait until they are fully loaded and in the flow with the area. Otherwise incredible sub (despite picking off a couple things I didn’t ask for), the bread was amazing, still 10/10 would go back, and didn’t even care it was chaotic. Inside though although small, its essentially a novelty convenience store with local goodies. They have a little bakery section with homemade stuff, the moon mist fudge was incredible and a must try! They also had a bunch of “Jones Soda” flavours that I’ve never seen before anywhere around here - even at the big candy stores, (like s’mores and the fallout edition one) which was pretty cool!! They still have ice cream and everything that was at multi scoop - just with a lot more options and delicious fresh options to go. Something for ANYONE at a really reasonable price. Prospect needed this so much - thank you, and good luck with your continued success! 🎉♥️”

Our party ordered pork tonkatsu, bibimbap, jap chae, spring rolls, pork gyozas, and miso soup, and we managed to eat everything except a little bit of rice by the end, which was not difficult because the food was delicious. The restaurant also offers Korean bbq, and although none of us had that, I have no doubt it would be very good. The menu was extensive and also includes ramen, hotpot, bugolgi, and more. Would 100% recommend to anyone who enjoys Korean food or would like to try it out.”

I was absolutely tickled to find easy street diner in Halifax today while down in Nova Scotia for work. they had the most extensive gluten free menu I've ever seen. They had delicious gluten free onion rings, crispy, light, just the right amount of seasoning. they were divine. They also even had things like chicken and waffles that were gluten free!! 😲😲😲 needless to say anytime I'm working in Halifax again, I will be trying more delicious food in this cute, trendy, a la 60s Jetsons-cartoon-style diner!”

“Yesterday we had the privilege of eating at The Narrows Halofax, Nova Scotia's #1 Public House and number #12 in Canada. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere and personable host made us feel like we were home! “We ate here while visiting the waterfront yesterday. It took a bit to choose which stand we were going to order from and I feel like we won the lottery by choosing this place. I had the ramen with BBQ pork and my boyfriend had the rice bowl with crispy chicken. Both were excellent!! The ramen broth was so flavourful, the pork was so tender and delicious and it was such a generous portion I was full for hours. My boyfriend loved the crispy chicken rice bowl too and it was also a generous portion. So tasty, we were talking about it all day!”

“I hired Tareks for catering on this week and OH MY GOODNESS! Fantastic as always; Incredibly fresh, flavourful and so easy! I told him how many people and he gave suggestions and was the least stressful catering order I have ever placed. It arrived hot and fresh and perfectly on time. So much food we all had a second plate and still had leftovers at the end. Highly recommend Tareks for any time lunches, dinners or catering. Has to be one of the best in the city, not one complaint from my group of 15 people! He even called afterwards to check in that everything was received - absolutely amazing service! “Stopped by Halifax for a quick bite Sunday morning before catching an early flight and honestly wasn't expecting much from a fried chicken spot at that hour, but the sandwich with the pickled slaw was sharp and fresh, not soggy at all. The dining room was already half full by 10am, tucked-away location but clearly a local favorite, with exposed brick and a low hum of conversation that made it easy to linger over coffee. Staff at the counter remembered a regular's order before he even finished asking, which says a lot about how often people come back. Parking on the street was easy that early, and I'd happily route through Halifax again just to get another bite.”

The staff kept checking in without being pushy, which made the whole vibe feel relaxed rather than rushed. Parking around that block was easier than expected for a Friday, so we didn't stress about being late for our reservation.”

“One of the best dining experiences I had in Halifax. Everything at Drift felt thoughtful, from the beautiful waterfront setting to the genuinely warm and attentive service.

The Atlantic salmon tartare served in mini waffle cones was creative, fresh and beautifully presented. The Nova Scotia lobster hushpuppies were exceptional, crispy, rich and perfectly balanced by the citrus aioli. For my main, I had the roast chicken with rappie pie. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the rappie pie was comforting and full of flavour. It’s still chicken at the end of the day, but this exceeded every expectation I had.

The cocktails were also outstanding: distinctive, well-balanced and made with exactly the right amount of alcohol. The biggest surprise was a complimentary bite from the chef a delicate cracker which may genuinely have been the best bite of the entire meal.

Excellent food, creative presentation and 10/10 hospitality. Drift offers a real taste of Nova Scotia rather than simply another upscale restaurant meal. Absolutely worth visiting.”

“We arrived a bit after 4pm. Waited to be seated by a friendly hostess. The service was good all did I have a bit difficulty understanding what was said. The food was very good and fast. The bourbon burger tasted good. The only thing I would like to say is that we found the restaurant very cold. We were seated next to the kitchen and we could feel a cold draft. We told the server and she said she would ask the manager. Of course we didn’t stay long enough to feel the difference so I hope for the other guests it got warmer. We thought the price for one burger with fries was a bit on the high side. But we ate there on a Wednesday night so received the second (same) meal half price.”

“One of the best dining experiences I had in Halifax. Everything at Drift felt thoughtful, from the beautiful waterfront setting to the genuinely warm and attentive service.

The Atlantic salmon tartare served in mini waffle cones was creative, fresh and beautifully presented. The Nova Scotia lobster hushpuppies were exceptional, crispy, rich and perfectly balanced by the citrus aioli. For my main, I had the roast chicken with rappie pie. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the rappie pie was comforting and full of flavour. It’s still chicken at the end of the day, but this exceeded every expectation I had.

The cocktails were also outstanding: distinctive, well-balanced and made with exactly the right amount of alcohol. The biggest surprise was a complimentary bite from the chef a delicate cracker which may genuinely have been the best bite of the entire meal.

Excellent food, creative presentation and 10/10 hospitality. Drift offers a real taste of Nova Scotia rather than simply another upscale restaurant meal. Absolutely worth visiting.”

Your booking includes set-up and tear down by the staff, HUGE win. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. And obviously the space is GORGEOUS; very little decorations are even needed in the romantic moody room. We did our ceremony on the roof and it was SO special. Food incredible. We did a standing cocktail dinner and we had more than enough and continue to received compliments over the menu. This is SUCH an awesome spot!”

BEST MATCHA IN THE CITY!

The strawberry matcha oat slush has changed my life in ways I cannot put into words for this review. Pastries, baked goods and food is always unique and very well done. Dumplings are a special treat if they have not sold out.

I cannot recommend this cafe enough, I send everyone here whenever anyone asks about a cafe recommendation. I tell people about the matcha slush like I am promoting religion. I am debating starting knocking door to door to spread the word of the Suda Table matcha oat slush.

“Went in today after wanting to try Cafe Byron for a while. It certainly did not disappoint. I had an iced mocha with a honey whip on top. The flavor combination of the chocolate and honey paired with the roast of their espresso beans is honestly perfection.

The staff was so friendly, clean, professional and brought my food to me instead of ghettoly shouting my number to me like other places.
