I can't say enough about this restaurant. All of the food was cooked perfectly. The service is really relaxed so plan to spend some time with your company. Every dish was amazing. We came in off of the Ocean train and it was a great first meal off of the train. We went with their Valentine's dinner special and were so happy that we did. The price was very reasonable for 2 people.

We had a great time having a delicious dinner here during our stay at this hotel. The friendly servers were committed to provide excellent service. The restaurant atmosphere here was awesome. I really liked that this restaurant has a modern and elegant decoration. Overall, every food and beverage on the menu tasted heavenly!

The hotel bar at the Westin is very nice, lots of seating and good service. We came here each night we stayed at the Westin for a nightcap.

It kills me to give this place a two stars but, I feel like I have no choice. Prior to Covid, my family went to the Westin for everything. We were frequent visitors at the Sunday buffet, and we did the Christmas buffet every year for years. This was our first time back since Covid and, I am so sorry to say, we might never be back again. My mother and I arrived at 11am, thinking we could get the buffet breakfast that was open at the back of the restaurant. By the time we were sat (11:15am by the way), and asked about the buffet, we were told it was over at 11am. On a Sunday, could you not have it until 12pm maybe? Lots of people don't get up early for brunch. Such a letdown. We ordered off the brunch menu again which, I think I am safe in saying, is limited. My mother and I both got coffee, which was very bitter. I drink black coffee; I needed a bit of sugar to get it down there. I ordered the loaded stack, which was pancakes, sausage patty, bacon, and eggs ($20, saying $18 on the online menu but it was $20 when we got there). My mother got the breakfast sandwich, which was eggs, sausage patty, bacon, tomato jam, and smoked gouda on a multigrain croissant ($16, saying $14 on the online menu). My mother is not able to eat multigrain so, she asked for a plain croissant. We were told no. I had just gone to look at the leftovers from the buffet and I knew they had plain croissants but, it was a no for this accommodation. I explained that my mother cannot eat multigrain anything; she was offered plain white sandwich bread instead. We figured we had no choice. My loaded stack was a lot of food. However, not that great. When my plate arrived, I noted that it had some syrup or something already all over it. I do not like that at all. I think most people want to put syrup on things themselves, not have it done for them. This kind of ruined things for me because I don't eat pancakes with syrup (I know, weird but it is extra sugar I do not need). I got three hard, tough, difficult to cut pancakes, one sausage patty, two pieces of undercooked bacon, and scrambled eggs. The sausage patty tasted good but, so full of garlic. I am still dealing with it hours later. My eggs and pancakes were very cold. My bacon was not wonderful because it was mushy. I didn't eat the eggs because I was also unsure if they were cooked the whole way. I ate the pancakes because I was paying $20 for my breakfast. My mom's sandwich looked good until we realized that she had no cheese on it. $16 for the sandwich without the cheese. Like me, she was also not sure if the egg was cooked so she pulled it off. Plus her sandwich and potatoes were cold. Honestly, we could not get out fast enough. Like I said, we used to come here a lot; usually once a month for Sunday buffet. One thing I loved was the breakfast sausage linked they served, which looks like are still on the buffet. However, you get a sausage patty if you get regular breakfast. I am sorry, the patty does not compare to the sausage links. I might be alone in that but I was afraid to be near people after breakfast because of the garlic level in my body. $60 for breakfast with tip. Service was decent but, the food was not good. I would likely not be back anytime soon because of our meals today. I would have saved money going anywhere else, and would have had a better meal overall.

My family and I had an enjoyable dinner here after arriving in Halifax from Montreal on the VIA train. (We stayed at the Westin as it is connected to the train station). Our server was very friendly, while all of us enjoyed our meals. The kids' menu also had reasonable prices, while the drinks we ordered (lemonade, ice tea, wine, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails) were good. Overall, we had a fun experience after our long, overnight train ride.

Ate here while guests of the hotel. Green salad was fabulous. Chicken club was average, nothing special. Too much bread and not enough chicken. Drinks were good and Rhoda our server was very friendly!

The food was fresh and delicious. My server was so kind and attentive. Wish I stayed at the hotel that was attached, seemed like such a great location!

Had the lobster roll, fish and chips, clubhouse - all tasty, but not spectacular, with calamari appy. The 2 issues that dropped the rating, the calamari was rubbery so don't order that. My daughter ordered a Shirley temple, that was prepared without grenadine, which makes it orange juice.

I decided to try the chowder here, as you must when visiting Halifax. As a general rule it is difficult to get a bad chowder in Halifax because the ingredients are fresh. I was staying at the Westin in Halifax and so a visit to the restaurant seemed in order. Be warned though- the portions are huge. I ordered a chowder and calamari. I couldn't finish both. Suggest you share. The chowder was excellent. Give it a try.

Had a business lunch at the Seaport Social today at the Westin Nova Scotian hotel. Decided to try their lobster roll which I am so glad I did. It was full of lobster on a soft toasted garlic bun with a secret slide of bacon which added a perfect saltiness to this local delight! Highly recommend! Today I had it with a light crisp Caesar salad but they also have the best fries in town in my opinion! Must try!

It is a really long wait. The staff is friendly for sure. I think they forgot about us. Yes we are a group of 7, seated way in the back.Food is ... I'm waiting at the moment... after 1.5 hours for main.Got it now. If you check my reviews, albeit, have not done one in years, I am not picky. It was really poor attention to service. We had appetizers then 1.5 hours later six main dishes came. The food was lukewarm and fries were cold. Sighs anyway, I now understand the lukewarm reviews for this place. If it is busy, don't come here; if there is only a handful (empty house) I say go ahead. It was raining hard and we were soaked already. The staff were polite of course and yes they did made a table for 7 for us. So I do not say bad things about them... just the service provided.

We went for afternoon Tea. Sadly there is clearly no dress code which spoiled the experience somewhat. It was mostly good though but there were a few things that spoiled it. This could have taken it from okay to amazing. Sandwiches had obviously been sitting for a while as the bread was dry on top. The Bakewell tarts were served with burnt pastry which was very disappointing. Tea was served in stupid little individual teapots which held about a cup and a half. Asking for more Tea actually gave you more hot water for your tea bag. The second time we asked for new tea bags.Oddly we were offered a take-out container for half a deviled egg and a half eaten meringue. Odd indeed. Again, where was the class? So close, yet so far...

Tons of flies, good drinks, friendly service, weird management (blamed employees for mistakes in front of us). We had a great dinner afterall.
