“Visited here while in Sydney for a curling event. It was close to our hotel, and recommended by a local friend. The food was excellent. I had the Pan Seared Haddock, my dinnermates had the Winter Barbecue (a ribs dish) and the Filet Mignon. Everyone loved their meals. The atmosphere is lovely. There was even live music by (I think) Jordan Musycsyn, who was really amazing. It was a great surprise. We didn't realize there would be live music. The restaurant is located in the Membertou Convention Centre, which made for a really interesting location. There is a fascinating museum-like exhibit celebrating Mik'maw history and culture in the Convention Centre hallway. It was very well done. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the venue.”
“Friendliest, helpful most welcoming Staff on the ordering area we’ve met on our travels in Canada. Thank you for the great service. Food was lovely when nothing was open in the area on a Sunday morning .”
“Tried a grill hut smash burger for the first time time today! I give it a 10/10! Tastes better than in-and- out burger in America! Treat yourself to a double cheeseburger the next time you’re in Sydney!”
“We had dinner at East Side Mario’s tonight and our waitress Evlin was excellent. She had a friendly smile, very nice and very knowledgeable with the menu. Great job Evlin!”
“Incredibly fresh, flavorful dishes! The sandwiches are hot and crispy with melty cheese. The service is very friendly, adding to the light, positive ambiance of the bistro. I can't wait to try the entire menu!”
“The best bubble tea spot in Sydney and probably the best I've been too period. The shop is cozy and the owner really goes above and beyond with customers and is always so welcoming. The seasonal specials are always a treat. A must stop for a treat.”
“This has got to be one of the best places I’ve eaten in Sydney in a long time, if not the best. The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. Perfect customer service, delicious food, and fast service. My friend, my husband and I got the meal that serves three. We got chicken, beef, and pork belly, vegetables, kimchi, and other pickled sides as well as the ramen to split. All of us were completely satisfied, all very full and even had leftovers to take home. I’m a very hard person to please when it comes to food, as me and my husband are both chefs but I’m telling you this place is worth driving to from Ingonish. I will 100% be returning.”
“First time dining here. Waiter was excellent and engaging. Food was very tasty and hot. Prices were reasonable. Great atmosphere. Not noisy like a lot of restaurants these days. Great experience.”

“Nice little bar near the water in North Sydney. Lots of seating options from a quiet table in a wee room to regular bar and table seating, and a room with comfy leather couches. Nice relaxed vibe and friendly atmosphere. If you’re in North Sydney looking for a few beers, this is the place! Cheers Ian.”
“This is by far my favourite restaurant in Sydney. They never miss. They have the best selection on their menu and an amazing variety of drinks. The service is very friendly too! Whitney pier chicken and rice is the BOMB, unbelievable flavor I promise it won’t disappoint! This is a one of a kind for Sydney. - OH don’t forget their brunch menu is absolutely amazing, the kitchen sink will leave you full and happy lol!”
“We visited The Dory tonight and we are so glad we did! Make a reservation for sure, because it was quite busy, but it was so worth the wait. The portions were larger than expected and every dish was full of flavour and so perfect. The seafood chowder is to die for - my husband said he wished it was a bottomless bowl. The staff was very attentive despite the busy-ness. Overall an incredibly positive experience.Dietary restrictions: As someone with Celiac disease I was grateful for the number of safe options that there were available and how delicious the options were!”
“This incredible little restaurant is right across the street from where we were staying while in the Cape Breton area and it was the best meal so far on our trip. We ordered the fish and chips and the “kicken” chicken which were both cooked to perfection. Hot, tasty and delicious! The service was wonderful. It was packed and people kept coming in. I’d go back in a heartbeat.”
“Breton Brewing is an absolute gem in Cape Breton! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth and a welcoming atmosphere. The variety of brews they offer is impressive, each with its own unique flavor profile that caters to all tastes. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, always eager to recommend a new favourite for a newcomer like me. The taproom itself is cozy and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet pint solo. Overall, Breton Brewing is a must-visit destination for any newcomer in the area. Highly recommend!”

“They have an impressive range of poutine dishes. They're fast as well but the eatery itself is a very tiny space. You can't eat in there comfortably so better to deliver.”
“Tried the cowboy poutine for the first time. Great mix of flavors and the portion was huge. Hubby had the donair poutine and it was a big hit. Donair sauce was the right mix - not too sweet.”
“I just can’t get over this place. Awesome healthy food choices in the heart of Cape Breton. Great place to chill or work.Wheelchair accessibility: Does have a lift and all doors have wheelchair accessibility.”
“the ramen is incredible, perfect amount of veggies to meat , the shrimp bags have an amazing taste and the egg bun was great , will 100% be going to get more , thank you so much for the great service as well.”
“Duke gave my mom, his aunt and neighhbour for his whole life a birthday pizza and wings for her birthday.. The food was delicious. Mom and I had fish and chips and salad on Friday evening . Both were very good . Staff is very friendly also.”
“Amazing!!!! Food is killer and the staff was so personal and interactive! Best experience with a restaurant ever!! They treated me as if I was their family!! 10/10 recommend going here!”
“Lovely family owned place in a residential area of Sydney. Down to earth atmosphere. So delicious, just as good as anything I've had in bigger cities like Vancouver. I had the chili chicken hot pot and it was so delicious, served piping hot. Big portion so I took the rest home. I scraped up every last bit of broth, because I didn't want to miss out on any deliciousness.”
“Super Bun has quickly become my go-to spot for Chinese grub around Sydney. Generous portions, cracking flavours, and it's proper good value for money. Can't recommend this place enough!!”
“Marty's is definitely one of the best places to grab a burger and fries on the island. We've eaten at some of the best burger joints all over Ontario through NS as well as many US states. I'd rank it in my top 10 ever for sure. Its just a "Drive-in", nowhere to sit, but if ya haven't already..."Ya gotta eat here!"”
“The best fish and chips on Cape Breton Island ! Homemade crinkle cut fries are amazing. The poutine is amazing. Staff are really friendly !! Lines may be long at peak times but the line ups move fast.”
“The Sydney eatery is a highly recommended stop for visitors and locals alike. The environment is warm and inviting. Servers do an excellent job. The seafood chowder and baby back pork ribs were very good. Fish and chips had just a bit too much breading. The Governor's Coffee was excellent.”
“Napoli is the perfect pizza. Thin crust, cooked to perfection. Perfect toppings, too. They will even par-bake them for us and we take them to Halifax and finish them off in the oven, with all the other Capers sitting at the kitchen table with us. Napoli is LEGEND in Sydney. Don't get me started on the spaghetti and pizza burgers. Nom nom. Great food.”
“Good coffee at a fair price was great. It was so fun to look at the cute antique accessories displayed on the walls. There are counter seats, so I think it's easy to go even by yourself, so I'd like to go there again soon!”
“Foods always greats but they needa make sure the people answering the phone can understand English. Order a pizza told them I'd have delivery pick it up and I'd like it made 30min later. More then 5 times I explained that not only was I told while drinking I'd be better to come pick it up cause delivery would take 45min(why I asked not to prepare it for 30min) but I also asked for a bottle of coke and was told to just pick it up when I got there like fr. After saying delivery would pick it up and there's other orders I'm getting from them needless to say the pizza was great arrived ice cold because I'm damn sure they didn't understand what for this time meant. Sorry to say but my lanta get that girl off the phone.”
