“What an awesome day for a drive for the First Monday in April 2023. Sunshine, the the forest bones of winter shaking off the cold. Trip from Halifax to New Minas to Big Mike Pizza. Definitely worth the drive. Definitely our favourite pizza.”

“There are lots of good things to say about Dayan. The place is clean, the owner is super friendly, and the portion sizes are 1/3 larger for the price than we've gotten at any sushi place in Halifax or the Valley. On the down side, we had 5 different rolls between us, all spicy, and unfortunately the sauce was so heavy handed that the only taste differentiation was the fact that some had teriyaki sauce and some didn’t. The rolls were also a bit hard to eat as they fell apart when picked up. Fresh food and good value, but a little more variety in flavour would be appreciated.”

So when my out-of-town friends came for a visit, I called for reservations, and I was excited that my party of 4 was able to be squeezed in on a night that featured live music! Boy! Was I ever shocked when I got there!! Zakary Miller is good, but he definitely does not play dinner music!! It was so loud, that I had to scream to speak to my friends that were no more than a few inches away from me!! It hurt my throat! And the people sitting at the tables around me were also screaming! Then out came Zakary's kazoo!! Oh no! It was horrible and I felt bad for bringing my friends there!! 😞 What a relief when Zakary Miller ended and we were able to at least enjoy dessert in peace and quiet. I think Zakary Miller would have been fun, and funny, if he had been unplugged! Please consider mellow, acoustic music next Thursday! I will not go back on "live music Thursdays"!!”

The service was excellent. My wife had a chai latte (I tried it - it was delicious). I had drip coffee. She had a macaroon. I had a chocolate dipped oatcake. One of the better outcakes I've had.

There is a fair amount of seating inside and a few chairs/tables outside.

Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

“Came here this past weekend with my wife and it was great!

My wife got a meal from their all day breakfast and I ordered the clams and chips. We were both very satisfied with the taste of our food, but I would have liked to have a bit more clams to go with my fries.

Our waitress was great and very kind.

“I stopped by Just Us! Cafe in Grand Pré, conveniently located on my way to Wolfville. The cafe has a cute, cozy atmosphere that makes it a pleasant spot to take a break. I ordered an iced mocha, which was good. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that they were out of three different items on the menu that I was hoping to try, which limited my options. Overall, it’s a charming place, but it would be even better with a more consistent stock of menu items.”

“Excellent food, superb service, and a great atmosphere. Main floor is good for a nice, quiet chat, while upstairs is a very cozy pub with music and the feel of a small Irish pub.

“The best winery we visited in NS! I didn't catch her name but the reddish haired lady working the bar inside was so sweet and really made our experience great. We had a great time tasting all the wines and learning more about the winery from her. I bought a bottle of Tidal Bay to take home and can't wait to crack it open to remind me of being there!”

Half acre cafe 100% gets my stamp of approval. They are hands down the best pizza place in the valley. Tried the wings tonight too, and they were PERFECT!
