“As ex-Oaklanders from 2005, we miss Chinatown. We had dozens of Formica tabletop joints we frequented with excellent food at a reasonable price. Donut Bistro in South Reno fits the bill.... excellent Chinese fare at what we guess is a reasonable price these days. And the size of the dishes are generous, leaving some to take home for a late night snack. In addition, I bought an apple fritter on the way out the other day that was big, lots of apple, and crispy. Our backup Chinese restaurant is Duck House across from Pepper Mill.“

“I wasn't planning on stopping here. In fact, I didn't actually realize that this little coffee shop was even inside Raley's until I walked up on it. It was a pleasant surprise. Peet's Coffee, in my opinion, is a lot like Starbucks. It has good quality coffee and treats. It isn't as good as my favorite locally owned coffee shop, but definitely worth the stop when in the area.“
“I picked up a dozen donuts couple days ago and the lady who owns it is just amazing she's so outgoing and very generous. I say this only because she has this machine that charges her for every transaction MasterCard Visa and American Express charge a huge fee for every order so if you're to order a donut it's not worth charging it because she has to pay for you to get a donut so please do not use credit cards if all possible and if you must, order at least a dozen donuts cuz she's a hard-working lady who deserves to make a little bit of money.“
“We stopped in for a sweet treat this evening on the way to drop off our friends this evening. I'm always overwhelmed by the aroma of Krispy Kreme. Service is hit or miss here and unfortunately has been a miss more times than it has been good. Tonight we were the only ones there and no one up front. A guy did come up on the phone, looked at us and walked towards the back. If I wasn't craving a glazed classic kreme filled; I would have just left. My kids ordered a few of their festive seasonal doughnuts with cute names like Santa's belly. I'm glad that Krispy Kreme is back in town because nothing beats one of their warm glazed doughnuts. “I was jones-ing for some donuts, and as I was near midtown/Plumb, The Jelly Donut was the place to go. This long-established donut shop still provides a great value when you need a fix of chocolate old-fashioned or a cake donut. Parking can be hit-or-miss, but there is both front-side and back-side spots. The people are friendly, and you can get a good assortment of choices if you get there early.“
“Stopped on the way to Reno.... Crowded but moves fast. They also had a law enforcement event going on which added to the ambiance. Quick service and the donuts were absolutely delicious. I got a custard filled and it was filled with slightly warm custard. Absolutely loved it. The coffee was also great. Highly recommend and will be stopping by to pick up a dozen on my way back.“
“Doughboys is in a perfect spot to have a donut shop. There is easy parking. They get you in and out of line quickly. They make small accommodations to your order, like adding sprinkles to a donut. Their prices are very reasonable. Their staff is patient, knowable and friendly. There's enough seating if you want to eat inside. I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll, I received it while it was still warm.“
