“A nice quaint place in the busier part of Astoria. I came around here to get a post workout shake and they do have a decent selection of acai bowls and smoothies, no less than $10 but it's decent for the price. I had the "Thicker than a Snicker" shake which is a blend of chocolate protein and banana and it was a nice blend of flavors. I'd recommend this spot for those who are on a fitness journey or just want something filling and flavorful that's not considered junk food.“

“I work 12 hour shifts near here and I’m always soooo tired halfway through. I come here for a quick pick me up. The lady behind the counter is the absolute sweetest, drinks aside- she always lightens my mood. The açaí bowls are to die for- not mid. I’ve tried so many spots in Astoria and Vela is consistently yummy. Today. I went in for a milk tea and they ran out of boba. She went an extra mile to charge me for a medium despite me ordering a large! Soooo sweet. ??“

We had the Hawaiian torta and the birria burrito and both were absolutely amazing and super filling!!! “This coffee shop is a gem. It’s neat, modern, clean, and the atmosphere is super soothing. There are words of affirmation on their mugs, which was a nice surprise.I had a latte with oat milk and it was refreshing. Seems to be a good place to order some coffee, read a book or get some work done. I didn’t get to check if there was WiFi or not, but this is a place I’d be willing to use my hotspot for.The staff were very warm and welcoming — I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the neighborhood to try a pastry or two! “This is an excellent smoothie and acai bowl place, with a very fitting name! All of the fruit was fresh and smoothies are made to order. I was able to customize a smoothie with almond milk, spinach, banana, Nutella, blueberries, and avocado. It was actually surprisingly good and hit just the spot. As I write this review, I think back to this morning when we squealed about possibly getting Piki Poke. It was our reward for a Friday morning hard work.The salmon and ahi tuna is so fresh; crab salad is perfectly salty; veggies and fruits combined for a light yet filling meal. “I bumped into this shop shortly after they opened not too long ago. I was extremely pleased with my experience. Excellent juicy lamb and chicken gyro sandwiches, salads, and rice platter! All halal, too.They also serve other dishes. Their menu is not extensive, but I prefer this, since everything is made freshly and their turnover is really fast. The salads are very fresh, everything is juicy and their portions are very generous. The gyro sandwiches and platters include a can of soda, so everything is in my opinion very competitively priced.The people in the store are very kind and attentive, and I have become a frequent visitor who is greeted with a smile. When showing the place to a visiting family, who praised the platter the “best gyro” they ever had, the owner gave one of the kids an extra platter to enjoy later. “Perfect start to the day! We stayed here 4 or 5 times during our week in NY for breakfast. We tested porridge, acai bowls and smoothies. The "Hell's Kitchen Sink" tastes awesome (with peanut butter and cocoa nips.) The smoothies Boo Berry, Gymbuddy and Energy Boost are each made with almond or coconut milk and protein powder .We loved everything! The service is very friendly and There are only a few seats, so we were there early (about 8 / 9h) and had no problems getting a small table.Now we are back home and miss the delicious bowls!“

“This is my second review and after about 6 months I want to commend The Green Juice Bar for continuing to update their model to fit the neighborhood. They've been making incremental improvements and the place looks great. They are now serving lovely pastries, coffee, snacks and they are now expanding their hours. We walked by on a Saturday night and stopped in for a freshly squeezed orange juice and it was a perfect drink. They've remodeled the space putting in more lighting and seats so it's much more welcoming and visually inviting. I wish this place much success and please support local businesses like this for the neighborhood.“

“I recently found Jungle Bowls after strolling around Bay Ridge and being a fan of anything acai, I had to try it and am overall glad that I have! It is a small shop, but full of selections that can appeal to all those looking for a quick drink or desiring something more substantial. There are lots of offerings that vary from shots, to juices, smoothies, acai bows (and other varieties like coconut, pittaya etc) to toast and even overnight oats!I’ve ordered their acai bowls, overnight oats and most recently a “Hulk” smoothie. The acai bowls are plentiful and chocked full of yumminess with a substantial amount of acai. The overnight oats are rich, hearty and satisfying. The smoothie was my least favorite because all I could taste was the protein and the almond milk and none of the kale, banana and strawberry that were supposedly in there. So here are my impressions:Pros- Clean, friendly staff, good prices, tasty options and did I mention the variety!Cons - if they’re overwhelmed with a large order, be prepared to wait. I ordered 3 items and even though I was cautioned that they were finishing up a large order in front of me, I waited 23 minutes and saw 2 customers who came in after me get served and had their orders done. I understand that they had single items, but it is not fair to watch people come in after me get their items while I waited as long as I did. And even though the staff was apologetic, there was no compensation offered for that. Smoothies could be more balanced flavor wise.Give them a shot when you’re in the neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back for the acai and oats.“

“As someone stuck at home battling COVID and its symptoms, a smoothie from Playa Bowls was a bright spot in my otherwise lousy day. Full of flavor, Playa Bowls has a nice assortment of smoothies and açaí bowls that can serve as both a sweet treat or a nutritious meal. DoorDash allowed me to order from home and get my smoothie in less than 20 minutes, which is a huge win. I'll definitely be back (hopefully in person)!“

“This is my SPOT! I come here after workouts and love the classic açaí bowl. The tropical pitaya and peanut butter protein bowls are also very good. I've never eaten inside, but it's decent decor (just get to-go). The girls making the bowls are pretty quick and always offer a smile. This is the only place I get my açaís in Jersey!“

“These are the best acai bowls in Greenwich Village - organic and loaded with yummy antioxidants. They have a very simple menu - and I would recommend everything on it. “Not sure if Pitanga is considered authentic Brazilian cuisine or moreso a modern spin on it but the food is pretty solid. I ordered the quinoa bowl which was quite tasty and healthy as well (a rarity in my book haha). However, I wish they would have an option to add protein. On top of that, I understand packaging coffee is difficult for deliveries but there's no good reason half of the coffee should've spilled before I got it. This is moreso the fault of the courier I'm sure but at the same time it's important for the restaurants to try to ensure safe packaging of all items. I would definitely try Pitanga again though!“

“This was my first time at oakberry. I usually go to sobol and right when I tried oakberry I immediately switched over. Oakberry's acai is very good and more fresh and smoothie like. The service took a little longer but it was definitely worth the wait!“
